Can't launch game past EasyAntiCheat loading screen

Hi all,

I’ve had a bit of a frustrating issue and still haven’t been able to solve it, so hoping someone here might know. I installed the game on launch day and when I opened it for the first time it came up with the Lost Ark logo and EasyAntiCheat loading bar, once that finished loading the logo disappeared, and soon after the game stopped trying to launch. On Steam I could see the game was no longer “running” and on Task Manager it just disappeared as if it terminated the task itself.

I’ve googled this issue and found some fixes and tips on forums, and I’ve also talked asked for support from the customer support of the game, but none of those helped. Off the top of my head I’ve tried things such as:

Validating game files
Repair/reinstall EasyAntiCheat
Reinstall the game
Run game as admin/and with different compatibility settings
Make sure to let it through the firewall
Update graphics driver and any windows updates
Reboot PC
Restart Steam

I’ve tried so many things and I still can’t get the game to open and I’ve been trying since launch… I really just want to play the game so it’s very frustrating to be pulling my hair over this instead of just enjoying the game

If anyone has any other ideas of how to fix this issue I would be eternally grateful!

hey were you able to find a fix? I am having the exact same issue right now…

Hi!
Currently also experiencing this issue. Not sure if this info is helpful but my game updated earlier this today and since then, I have been encountering this issue (yesterday was still playing fine).

I also tried some of the solutions this post listed, but still can’t launch the game after the EasyAntiCheat screen.
Hoping to get some help from a customer support agent otherwise I will be uninstalling and re-installing the game in the next days as a last attempt…
Please notify if there has been any working solutions to fix this!!!

I uninstalled and reinstalled few times still no go I EVEN REINSTALLED WINDOWS OMFG… WTF is going on man

I have the same problem. I’ve also ran easyanticheat setup to repair, but it still doesnt start the game.

Hmm. For some reason it just started working, without me doing anything new.

Hi guys, unfortunately for me none of the fixes have worked, I even talked with Amazon support and they couldn’t fix it either. I’m having to resort to play on my old laptop which can barely run the game as my pc just won’t load it past the Anti Cheat screen…

I tried everything and i seem to gotten some combo right, i was referring to another post on here, pretty much i did everything including reinstalling the game and windows… then i changed the compatbility to admin mode for steam/lostark.exe and anti cheat, and launch_game, then it kept looping saying some error, someone said to take off admin for the launch_game and it worked!

Hi again!

So I did not uninstall and re-install the game, but did was @beesuu31 suggested and the game seems to work now!

Finding steam and lostark.exe
I went to both steam (search “steam” on your computer search bar and use “open file location” to find it) and lostark.exe (can be found through opening steam, going to your game library, right-clicking on lost ark and then Manage → “browse local files” OR referring to this reference path “Steam\steamapps\common\Lost Ark\Binaries\Win64” to find the folder where lostark.exe is located. Launch_game is also in this same folder but I didn’t touch it.)

Running steam and lostark.exe as admin mode
After finding steam and lostark.exe, I right-clicked Properties then clicked on Compatibility tab.
From there, I checked the box for “Run this program as administrator”.

Clarification Note
I did this for both steam and lostark.exe. I did NOT do this for launch_game, only for steam and lostark.exe and now my game seems to be running okay.

Hoping my explanation can be helpful to other people and thank you again @beesuu31 for sharing your solution!

I think one of those solutions definitely works for most people. I think there might be something wrong with my windows/graphics driver in my case because nothing has worked yet, and weirdly for some time now my Steam has had a black/blank main screen unless in small/gaming view, and my geforce experience won’t open or install properly. Only thing left for me to try I think is a Windows reset but I have so many important files and apps on the PC I would be too scared to do it incase I lose any work. Unfortunately work comes before gaming…
