CAPTCHA is back?

  • Updated the CAPTCHA system to provide better bot prevention measures.

So, @Roxx what should we be expecting here? This didn’t go over so well when it was accidently introduced a few months ago

  • When will normal players be expected to see CAPTCHA popups?
  • What happens if we ignore / fail / are AFK for one?
  • Are they Text/Picture based
  • Do you honestly expect a CAPTCHA system to matter to the bots for more than like a week?

I’m hoping for some clarification on this as well, as when I saw that under the notes I was a bit excited that CAPTCHA was back with a vengeance

I’m also hoping it works properly this time

We’ll have some more details on exactly how this looks once it’s live after the maintenance is finished – we’re just waiting until it’s up to avoid giving botters any sort of head starts on any part of this.

I respect that but lets give us players a head start on not waking up tomorrow, going to make a coffee and getting auto banned for missing a CAPTCHA please :slight_smile:

Lost Ark already dances on our last nerves a bit these days, if every time I log into a Lopang alt to run dailies I need to submit a CAPTCHA, I might just full on baby-rage :rofl:

I think you should remove unas gold as well. There should also be a captcha for every attempt at buying from the market. Actually there should be a captcha for every action you take in the game.

If it is something like Vykas G3 typing mech then I am sure we will be losing some real players too :rofl:

This is a good concern to have, however on the other side of the spectrum hopefully (and I mean hopefully) this is something they have prepared for already

And I say hopefully in a sense that they don’t want the repeat of the Saturday banning fiasco again

We’ll see what happens and I hope it works while not creating a huge mess again

For the record I am going to ignore / fail every single CAPTCHA and see what happens (for science)

I want to see if a 4000 hour account with a 230 Roster level gets flagged and auto banned for being a bot.

I remmeber back first time “CAPTCHA” u got it random, and people got banned if they was to long afk.

Thats why it was taking off.

That sounds like exactly the kind of thing that needs to be put into place. The number of guildies that I see using scripts and bots to do their lopangs and dailies is too damn high.

For my part idc about the banns. In the end it was acc that not playing the game anyways the only thing what was crap is the people that played LA and got a VAC thing on steam.

I’m guessing you’ll find that you just can’t do whatever it is you’re trying to do until you complete the captcha. They didn’t have any mechanism for the we’re checking your transaction history so I doubt there will be any autobanning or even flagging for failed captchas.

Do you remember which thread we were discussing CAPTCHA in just the other day?

The concern is when they accidently enabled this a little while ago, there was autobanning. A bunch of people got autobanned for failing/afk a CAPTCHA lol
