Casual guardian event is a clusterf**k

The game is very good and I enjoy playing it. There are some misses with design that are surely done to just keep good DAU and to hit expected ARPA - but they are not a game-breaker for me (the deadzone ie.).

I still think that the design of this event is chaotic, and expectations set by AGS are inaccurate

Well I disagree but it’s clear that your opinion is set in stone and this entire discussion has been unproductive and pointless. So I wish you a good day

I think this event is pretty nice to show players that mechanics actually exists, and will be even more common in future content. They made it much more difficult if you just go in without care for mechanics. This is a smart approach, otherwise players can easily just brute force it and think that’s how it should be done.

I actually recommend going in solo to learn a bit more about your class. I solo’d them on my alts, including bard, and found out which skills can break tail more efficiently than others.

Edit: What surprised me most was that the guardians moved at like half speed or something… haha

You can convivence me it is otherwise: if you think that a 250 gear score player, reading about this casual and relaxing event, is expecting to be tested about his guardian mechanics knowledge, and control the chaos of 3 guardians popping in and out - then I will change my mind.

The problem i see here is the amount of chaos that happens on the screen. If you are lucky, and get to face 1-2 guardians - they maybe somehow you can learn something.

We were facing 3 at the same time, with no clue what is going on. The screen was shaking, full of colours and I couldnt even see myself (I literally didn’t know where my character was). How one is suppose to learn in that environment?

Facing 3 is rare, but I can understand how that can be chaotic. You usually find one, then the scorpion decides to join and leave whenever. But I personally prefer them all in one spot, so I don’t need to go looking for them. I purposefully don’t use flares when I do them solo, so it can take a bit of running around.

Make sure you move around and often, so you are not being rag-dolled most of the time, regardless if against one or three guardians. Their attack speeds are slower than their normal versions too, so slightly more manageable.

If you are in a group, odds are at least one of you knows what to do and can explain.

If solo or none in your group know:

  1. You can learn by doing if you feel capable
2.You can ask in-game area chat and profit from the social experience and MMO is supposed to be
3.You go online and read/watch what you have to do

After you spent these at most 20 minutes (raid failure) you will now know and have an easy time each and every subsequent time

While I completely appreciate the advice, the point of entire conversation is that the expectations of the event were set inproperly and design of it is chaotic.

For sure, If I expected it to be a bit challenging, I would try to either - approach it solo first, and try to learn the tactics - or just seek some guidance online.

I went in blind, as I expected casual experience (per AGS own words) - like I do from the race event. I might have hit a rare spawn, but just the fact that this can happen - means that the design was not well-thought.

Again, I appreciate all advices

AGS own words:
Experience the raids in a more casual way = It is easier and more casual than the standard guardian raid

Relax, play, and get hoing rewards = relax and play lost ark while getting honing rewards for 5 minutes of your time

‘Scale of Balance’ is applied to change the character’s stats to match the Guardian’s level, = Gear/Runes/etc. do not make a difference

The only false expectations set are those you set on your own. Even the definition of the word casual is different for each individual person. I personally do not find casual = press 1 button and win

Good point. But also a two-sided edge. Since it is not specified, one can argue that more casual way can mean exactly what I expected - a completely relaxing game mode where I can do bad and still come on top. Again, not my fault, or yours - but AGS by… wording it very vague. We also need to remember that this event is also targeting people who might have never done a single guaridan raid.

Well, this for me is pretty clear. Relax means that you don’t need to learn tactics or be vigilant. I don’t think that most of the people associate relaxing with learning or trying and failing.

We agree on that point.

Well at least these events tell pugs that you need to do the mechanics on the bosses and also bring consumables to GRs. I hate playing with randoms as they don’t even bring flares. If you are 1 you will use the flare 1st.

Do they actually tell that, or do they require it without telling it, while labelling entire event as relaxing and casual?

This is the problem.

u beat it first time in 6-7 minutes and ur still crying? honestly fuck off dude xD

nope it did not! I tried alone and had grenades did not break the tail when its down on the ground!

my assumption was to hit all 3 at the same time if possible, when not while i was just fighting helgaia i just was bringing scorpion on top and hitting both, when i saw scorp get staggered i just naturally went to break his tail since that’s the only threatening thing about both of the guardians.

I did it once and completed it in 6 min no joke

you need more weakpoint on your skills then

maybe because the scorpion is always guarded by another guardian?, its the only one that doesnt appear solo

I wasn’t talking about the event, I was talking about GRs in general.

think my class is to slow on the weak point skills! Playing Artillerist!
