Last time when I did the regular version I was around 1400 but had worse engravings and gems. I did it in 18min, 9 sek.
When I tried it now I failed with a whopping 30% hp left when the time ran out. I am wondering if it is harder to do the scaled version or if I was unlucky with the spawns/played so much worse?
I tried matchmaking a couple of times, but they died before even phase 3 and also we are fighting for the buffs.
So my questions are: How does scale of harmony affect its hp (relative to my damage) and how does soloing affect its hp?
Well the scale of harmony system is ass, idk why we have to scale down its better to just make the boss scale up to us, but anyway soloing gives the boss the same HP pool as if you had 4 players, so its extremely difficult to kill since with being scaled down (your stats, tripods, relic set stolen) you cant do any damage. Just hope you get lucky with matchmaking or do it with some friends.
The big thing about this raid is for you to not lose your buff stacks and keep uptime on the boss. If you have those stacks lost or reset it’s a huge setback in damage.
I know, that’s the main reason why I’m asking, because if you’re competing with other players obviously you’re getting fewer buffs. Some people seem to take more than five too, or at least I think I saw the same person grab more than five last time.
Are you absolutely sure about this? Because I matchmade again and again it had close to 30% (I think it was 26%, similar to my solo) hp left when the time ran out. Sure I lost some damage by teammates taking buffs, but 3 other people should do a noticeable difference if it’s actually the same hp.
Im 99.9% sure that the challenge guardians are always scaled for 4 players, but either way if your group is dying to velganos then its very likely that they didnt do any damage either
Scale of harmony removes your gems, tripods and card set. You keep your engravings and get equalised stats depending on content. Challenge Velganos should theoretically be easier than the actual guardian as it has less hp and deals less damage. Mechanics are all the same.
I think people are starting to forget that the normal Velganos is very hard too. It’s just a lot of people either got carried or went to solo it while overgeared. Challenge Velganos puts you on ilvl and there’s no hp scaling to number of players, it will feel harder if the rest of your party aren’t familiar with the mechs.
I would say it scale to 4 people HP no matter how many go in. My friend went in by himself last time, took him around 16 mins. Last night 3 of us went in with him, but didn’t engage in the fight, took him around 16 mins as well.
Like I said I was only slightly overgeared when I soloed the regular one. I did not have Descaluda when I did it.
If less hp is easer depends very much on how much my damage is nerfed. Is it less hp relative to a 1400 doing the regular one? I think that’s what you are saying, but if so I could just solo it again, just hoping for better spawns. I really hate this mechanic of the boss moving around. At least on Deskaluda you can stop it with a counter. Seems more fair.
Challenge Velganos have less total hp than normal Velganos (with 4 players). But unlike the normal guardians, challenge guardians don’t have hp scaling to number of players. This on top of your tripods, gems and card set being removed, and stats being adjusted is why people generally don’t try to solo challenge guardians. It’s not impossible, it’s just harder for a lot of people even though mechanics are the same.
Velganos’ light/dark stack mechanic is just incredibly stupid with a full party and in the confined spaces you have to fight him. At the very least a couple people will get dark stacks and do no damage. It’s unavoidable.
Then on challenge mode you’re on-level and its HP stays at full-party size even if you go in solo, so you can’t solo cheese it like the normal version.
I think it might be better to just assign a support and someone else to not get any light stacks so that two people can properly DPS it. It’s better to have two people with no dark stacks than four with dark stacks.
I got lucky with my party that one DPS just kept running around and dying and the other player was a support and knew not to keep getting stacks, so we basically shared the stacks between two dps…
Yes he’s right. I do stagger check with one skill on regular velganos solo, tried doing the same on scaled version, put all my stagger skills into it and failed the check…
I did velganos on ilvl and i can tell you that guardian was hard but challenge velganos? Challenge velganos is nerfed as hell The problem is most ppl didn’t learn how to do the raid and got carried by friends or busses
