Change The Flawed Ban/Appeal System

“Kindly thank them for their understanding”
Funny part is this is read out like a generic prompt you would receive at a call center. Something you would tell a customer regardless of the outcome. Aka this response is predetermined no matter on what you submitted.

Yeah I hear that, saw you trying to redirect similar issues here, appreciate it.

Just want something said and done once and for all, like me I’ve been banned for a month now, many people have told me I could’ve started over and been back to where I was by now especially with prices on things dropping to almost a 4th of what it was before I was banned.

But I’d rather have this issue resolved honestly. Like many others I am also “innocent” but based on the system I am guilty, under the circumstances it states. But yeah just want to see where this lands.

Yeah, that’s why I’m helping out lol. I understand there are for sure some false bans. No offense, I’m not fighting for your innocence or anyone’s for that matter. I just want to make sure everyone gets proper treatment in the matter. I’m cool with RMT’s being perma-banned etc. Just sucks to see players get the worst possible punishment if they are in fact innocent.

Yup I feel that, that’s why I made the post about the issue as a whole, didn’t really bother trying to say “heres my name and server” I know after a month of speaking with support, reading looking at it all it’s a deeper issue that needs to be addressed in order to even resolve an issue with my own specific account, otherwise the cycle will continue with these issues.

Also a side note, if they are banned from the game they should not be banned from the forums. To be banned from the forums should be you doing something on the forums to receive that ban.

It’s an odd situation I have to admit. I’ve personally never had to deal with AGS support. I never played New World and didn’t have issues in LA. But I also stopped playing in April, so I was just lucky in that regard. I can tell you with a 100% certainty though that if dealing with Blizzard support (WoW) or SE support (FFXIV) was this bad though, I would have lit their forums on fire too.

2nd part I’m a bit torn on. I would be cool with a modified account for banned users for forum usage. But some people that get banned should probably not be allowed near an open mic. Depending on the punishment ofcourse.

Oh well yeah if they do say something out of line, just toxic and bullying a player I find that problematic, I already don’t like seeing it when a player comes to the forum with a plea for help when they claim they are wrongfully banned, us as players attacking them is wrong to me and I don’t believe that should even be allowed so I get what you mean.

But FFXIV been enjoying it on a side note, looking forward to next raid tier to drop. Luckily my 10 years of playing on there I’ve never been banned so I am happy about that.

Same, I won’t over-glorify like some players do. But I have to admit of all the MMO’s I’ve played recently. FFXIV seems to have their shit together the most. And every time I had an issue, I got a response in a timely manner. Even had to call in once, talked to just some normal dude from like Tennessee. And I’m pumped for what’s to come also. I had to take a break for work reasons, but I love my catgirl Gunbreaker with all my heart.

Only supports I’ve contacted or spoken with was league. From a few occasions, the communication and ease to share info was super smooth. And that was from years ago when the game was at its peak. I don’t like to compare but I think its needed here as from personal experience one dealt with my issues professionally and another straight up ignored my concerns and accused me without evidence. I know there are outliers for each, but its from my personal experience. AGS live chat is always pretty attentive and they seem to do what they can but when it comes to Mods and the ban appeals its a whole different story. Bot replies, generalized verdicts, ignoring replies, definitely room for improvement I think. To me it just feels they’re either understaffed or following some flawed guideline. Live chat actually typed out a paragraph for me after I contacted them expressing their concerns and how they tried to improve my experience. It also came with a review so that could be the reason too. This made me think, if the mod that handles our cases had a review option… Wouldn’t that be something?

Yeah, I lack that personal experience you’ve all had between them. But from what I can gather their solutions/responses can vary heavily. Like you’re already overboard and one person decides to throw a dumbbell at you instead of a life preserver.

Honestly, at this point getting my account back is not my main concern. I just want the mod team to acknowledge my innocence and an apology for their false-ban. It doesn’t sit right with me, knowing I did not breach any of the “Code of Conducts” they banned me for and I refuse to let them get away with it.

Do certain bans show on Steam’s side by chance? Does it flag your account like a vac for instance? Odd question but I swear I’ve seen both.

Their solution to bots and RMT is still screw over their player base knowing they are going to get false bans and ban people who support their game with real in-game mari shop purchases. What a horrible strategy rather than tackle the bots and rmt issue itself.

With all these bans, nothing has been solved from RMT. People still do it, bots are still there, and the Rich who has money will continue to do it. Give botters a chance to give gold, they’ll figure out a different way to get their illegal gold to buyers.

The only losers here with this situation are people like us and Amazon’s profits. With all this money, they took the easy way out and screw over people who supported this game like us rather than tackle the harder solution of figuring out who to ban bots and the source of the issue. And now they are leaking players.

My guild has stopped playing. They were tired of the dailies and only living for the raids before my banned. A good friend of mine stopped playing to play other games with me and so the guild just drop in the past week.

on my steam profile it says 1 game ban on record, click into it and leads to lost ark. Not sure how my profile looks if others view it

Edit: so I guess if its visible to others, anyone can form a negative opinion of my profile and its all because of a ban that I can’t really appeal for XD

Yeah, that’s why I was asking I would hate to see that. I had a friend who picked up PoE months ago and got an auto ban (He had Tarkov running in the background so maybe its anti-cheat triggered it, they promptly unbanned him a day later). He was losing his shit over having his account tarnished since he was pretty well known in CS: GO.

My friend got banned as well. We played daily together the past 2 months. Did our weekly raids together and guardians. He got banned today for “scamming”. We did not do any busses or stuff like that, we played always together in every group content. I don’t see the reason for him to scam he is item lvl 1510 with +25w(he got the money to spend, probably spent like 5k or more). I know for sure he doesn’t rmt as well, he works 8h almost every day and just likes to enjoy lost ark after.

The suppport is giving him this copy+paste answers: “We understand that this may not be the result you were hoping for. We assure you
that we have carefully examined your case and that further objections to this case cannot lead to a different result.”

I think what happened in my opinion is that he got reported many times by randoms(because of +25 weapon and +21 def gear) and just got auto issued a ban.
It’s just a joke, at this point I might quit as well because I don’t feel like supporting a company that doesn’t care about their playerbase.

I’m done.

I’m done with the lies, done with the CS crap, and definitely done with these “community managers” who evidently have no clue what they are talking about.

I’ll be creating a full case with all the details and presenting it to steam for a full refund.

And if I don’t get it, I’ll just write it off.

This isn’t worth it.

Bye

It isnt. They think they are smart and hope any false bans will just pony up another $1000 to get back where we’re at. We’re not whales, we are people who supported the game through 1000 hours and small amount of crystal purchases each month.

The best course of action is just walk away. If your friends are supportive, get them to play other games with you and forget about this game. With the way this is going, the leadership that made this decision will learn the hard way of not screwing with your supporting player base.

I still would like to see what is said, but I do understand both of you @Odiumn @lawahez . Sorry it’s got to that point.

I do hope @Roxx comes though with something soon… Whether good or bad, ignoring it all for a week now is pretty saddening, from any lead point of view that isn’t the way.

Unfortunately, you wont hear anything about this until the end of this year. They aren’t going to address anything that will make them look bad. They hope their easy way out plan for bots and RMT works without any repercussion.

But when Q3 or Q4 earning reports comes up internally and their leadership asks their employees why they are hemorrhaging money and bots/RMT are still happening. You will get an email that your account is unban and they welcome you back…it will be too late by then.

I was going to say something to the that extent too. But I can understand at this point. Could probably use some more support from the players who got their accounts unbanned after a false ban. Would redeem AGS in a fashion while also raising morale a bit.
