Variance has literally always been thre.
There is no bug.

In my personal observations I’ve noticed around 50% variance in chaos dungeon loot, there are days where my 1370 characters earn up to 10% more materials than my 1400 one.
If anything variance can be toned down a little for more consistent rewards.
Also delete the Tier 3 chaos dungeon vendor, we don’t need bots selling 1445 accessories day 1.
Accessories are not tradeable through chaos dungeon vendor.

2nd floor boss sometimes dropping nothing but silver
Obviously can’t speak for anyone else, but for me, never had boss do this weird silver only thing until ark pass. 9 chars running chaos of all tiers since launch and never, not once had boss not drop at least some mats and items.
Then ark pass launches and now sometimes (not super frequent but not super rare), 2nd floor boss drops zero loot just small amount of silver. Is this normal and never having it happen before was godlike rng luck? Is this new but considered normal bc SMG balanced total mats to be about same, just not from boss anymore?
Who knows. But one thing for sure, in my opinion only - something changed before and after ark pass that makes 2nd floor boss give zero mats or loot sometimes. I am NOT saying this means overall less mats, maybe overall it is still same bc they rebalanced where it drops. But I don’t believe my 9 chars x 2 runs daily for 3+ months got insanely lucky and never had this happen if supposed to always be this way. Something changed on boss kill. Bug or intended who knows.

yall just straight conspiracy theorists out here i play on russia as well and can assure you that theres massive RNG and that the drops on RU on the same chaos dungeons are the same. theres no shadow nerf lol, even though it would kinda be smart to make money right before valtan getting people to spend for that last little push

Chaos dungeons are not bugged, but definitely shadownerfed
They used to be bugged after March 3rd.
They stopped being bugged after May 4th.
Unfortunately, every single old Chaos video for T3 covered Infinite Chaos. So you really don’t have data to prove that Chaos Dungeons are nerfed. The ones I had between May 4th and today have yielded their loot drops. There is variance but Chaos Dungeons in particular are variant in countless ways (i.e. portals and tickets).
It should have a minimal item amount that can drop from the boss, today i dropped only 1 earring and that is it, nothing more.
Ignore the audio from the zeals stream, i think the boss didn’t liked that i missed the “combo” and didn’t try it again.
Ok i lied, i also dropped some silver alongside the earring, but that is it.
it might be. Can’t speak for “before” (Ark Pass) as I haven’t payed that much attention to it. But in last two weeks it never happened on my 6 alts. I’m sure of that.
I’ve seen it before, yes, sometime the boss only drops shards or something. But it really seem it’s just RNG.
It may drop 0 things or it may drop cube and rush at once (happend once to me). RNG
call it tinfoil hat but I have similar experience/feeling as OP, specifically in regard to the boss drops on 2nd floor. It feels like not necessarily a straight drop nerf, it’s more like the variance is now significantly bigger than before and the drops now can be really really little.
Not saying its a bug, could be horrible rng, but I got all of…5 guardian shards from 1400 chaos today. It was two seperate drops, one of 2 and one of 3. all it gave me. Somehow that is either wrong or shouldnt be possible, lol.
