I can only imagine the amount of kids who sit on hot coals waiting for their download, then rush to copy-paste their RU character creation presets to the new client, start up the game, pick warrior for their future paladin, and click on their preset slot…

And YES it works! They click Proceed, frantically type in their name and press enter…

The name Tyrael is taken. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! BUT MY PLATINUM PACK!!!

Seriously, pop culture names are very sought after. I bet Final Fantasy characters and the like are gone faster than you can say “Tifa”!

Diablo 3 is only ten years old. Plenty of kids, and older ones too, who’ve played it or at least know Tyrael, note the paladin avatar’s resemblance and want to play their own Tyrael!

It’s better to just allow a set amount of time to freely configure our characters at launch before it’s locked in.

Is it really possible? Can we create character visual presets in RU version to speed up this process in EU version? :wink:

Names are very important to me also and it’s something that seriously bothers me at launch even with headstart from bronze package.

I don’t get it why unlike in other mmos name won’t be available just after delete of character. That’s the normal way of solving this kind of problem in games …

Platinum Founders pack grants you 7000 crystals. More then enough for a few appearance changes if you are that worried about losing out on a name.

We don’t know if using RU presets is possible yet. That was just imagination and narrative on my part.

It was stated a while back if you saved your char models in CBT you can use them for release.

Sure, the game could also launch last year on schedule, but it was delayed. Probably that would be a good way to say sorry and give something back something to the passionate community.

Plus you may not know those marketing tactics, but in such games giving people small things will bring you more profit on the long run, because players will much rather feel like giving back with buying more stuff later on.

If it was a Smilegate, we probably would already have at least an answer. :slight_smile:

those names will be taken in seconds and if there was a download button before 8th of feb then more of names will be gone but wanted to ask where the game will be unlocked first ? like what contury will be on 8th before anyone else ?
