Thats a good way to do things right. I cant buy anything nice. We all understand that the game needs money to run, but such changes kill the game.
And to get an understanding of the scale of the revenue consider this: let’s assume 100k players each bought 10 relic accessories. That’s 5 for their main build and maybe 5 for an alt or a chaos build. That’s one million accessories traded that needed 25 pheons each. As explained 25 pheons is $5.05 worth of store credit. That’s $5.05 million in revenue to SG. Think of the lifetime of the game. How many millions of trades in the AH. I haven’t even considered stones. It’s 10’s if not 100’s of millions of dollars revenue.
My guess is before pheons they looked at the store revenue and it was’t good. They saw all the AH transactions and decided to be like a broker on a stock exchange. Collecting $$ per trade.
It’s simple, limit the power of alters. The possibility of getting your jewelry with a main is ridiculous, but not with 6 alters. You would recycle everything and you would have the full jewelry roster in two weeks. But the truth is, it would be very good to put a crystalline aura only for rc that suppresses the use of pehon.
But what do I know, they preferred to have whales than for the base population to end up paying for the aura.
To avoid 5*3 Argos P1 gatekeeping
For people who have a 6+ roster of the same class having only 1 stuff
It’s totally valid and understandable, this is a good in game thing
ez solution, “right click” the item and make it roster bound.
shouldnt be hard to code. but its smilegate tho…
dude inunderstand that ehind the blue crystals someone had to spend money. BUT ypur coclusion ia that itnis because of thw pheons. which is again stupid conspiracy theory territory. no it was not generatrd because of the pheons. Some of it was, but mainly it was generatec because players whohad the money and were willing tonspend it paid for faster upgrading better gear immediately, rarest mount in the game.
And then the credit that was generated is dumped into pheons as well as other things.
but fornthe grinders with big rpasters and without money, well pheons are necessary and they will always be willing to give their ingame gold for bc to buy and be able tp grind efficiently. If they the developer wanted to make. more money pheons is the stupidest and most roundabout thing they could come up with. im sorry but atbthis point what you are saying is at best laughable. but of course you can and should have yoir opinion. i give up.
Fifth, no other popular MMO uses a pheon system or anything similar. They all have functioning markets and use other more player-friendly means to prevent abuse.
Can you name a pve MMO with a decent amount of players that has insanely endless vertical progression tied directly to gold with a fully open, globally accessible market?
I can only think of games from 20 years ago, and all of them had massive problems that are mostly solved by Lost Ark’s systems. None of the top 10 or even 20 MMOs have this because it simply doesn’t work, encourages rmt/etc, and results in top .0001% barons controlling everything.
