sorry but I think you didn’t understand, the chat is stuck on the last messages and even if I create another tab with the chats or something like that it still crashes without showing the new messages, I did some tests and I know that if the person types in any chat that I have it, it shows what she is saying in the character’s head but it doesn’t show it in the chat, it’s still stuck, apparently when I close the game and open it again, it normalizes until I do some action that I didn’t identify and the bug happens again

Restarting the game worked for me and havent experienced any issues since. This also happened to my other chat tabs for my Guild, Raid and Party tabs in which case I had to delete the tab and create it again.

Happens to me too, chat just stops scrolling. I can hear messages coming in, but can’t see them.
You don’t have to fully exit the game, you can just go back to character select screen and back in, it gets fixed.

Having the same problem.Chat does not work at all.I have deleted all my tabs, have restored the default settings, relogged twice, first time area chat worked for 5 mins then dropped dead again.Normal chat has not appeared at all in chat window today.Guild is working, party not all the times.Can you please address this as soon as possible?Thank you

Yes, this is what I experienced as well. Have 2 of the same chat is the only solution I have found. I can see it above their head but it doesn’t appear in chat box. Then I go to the other Chat tab and see it in the chat box.

the ‘<’ character seems to break chat. In my case, the guild message of the day had <3 in it which caused chat to stop responding on login, had to remove it and relog to get chat working again.

same issue, chat randomly stops showing messages until i switch character or restart the game
Same issue, gotta relog every time and then it works for all from 1 minute to an hour or two, then I can’t see what I write myself or whatever others write.
This happened after the patch.

Same here, I have to go to the char selection screen to fix it. Problem returns after a short while.
Happened after the latest patch for me.
This happens at really random times. sometimes its 15 minutes others I can play for hours fine. they really need to fix this bug ASAP!

Please know that this situation is already escalated with the devs. They’re currently working on it right now, and it’s a matter of little time for it to be fixed.
A CM has already replied to this situation, mentioning the following:

I just quickly viewed the initial replies, but yes, it seems this is not a rare bug as I personally deal with it a few times daily.
As other have likely mentioned, log to character select to remedy. When it bugs out, I can’t see any incoming chat, less whispers depending. For whatever reason I can both send and receive these, however I can only do so on my whisper-only chat tab.
I hope they address this soon, as this is a significant problem in my eyes.

Same here: I can’t see the messages from other people. I see only mine … it’s really … horrible
I had this since the start of the game but the problem I see is that its happening only to some characters… Im in dungeon for example and I see a person type (it displays in the bubble above their head but not in the chat box) but when another person types it works fine etc… so for me its not that the chat itself is bugged and I dont see any new messeges but rather its not capturing certain people. For those I only hear the sound effect that Im getting a new message but I dont see anything unless they are in front of me to see the bubble. Happens almost every day and idk what to do about it. And I have multiple boxes (for area, for whisps, for party/raid etc)
Edit: I find a solution to my problem so if anyone has the same as I do then check all the language filter setting for that specific chat tab (or experience with it until the messages ur not seeing appears)
I want to share my chat experiences too.
I also created separate tabs for chats and experience strange thing. For e.g. i created a guild chat tab. Some messages going into that guild tab and some dont. It seems to be different per guildmember. Guildmember A chats are sorted into guild tab chat. Guildmember B chats are sorted only in System chat tab. I have the same experiences with group chats. So for conversations between guildmembers i need to switch tabs as i dont see everything in one tab. I tried a chat tab with normal/group/guild/ together and also every chat as a single tab.
This makes me really hard to follow conversations and i also are missing some chats because of it.
I would say u have the same issue as I had, for ur guild chat tab try to check all language filters at the bottom of chat settings (as that’s auto for system chat but when u create a new tab only english is checked by default) and u should be able to see everything even in that guild chat box - or at least that helped me

Still an issue, especially in arena. Whenever i queue for a few games the chat starts buggin please fix.
Edit: Right now even restatring the game does not fix it
