I’ve made a post about it before, but decided to make a new one as the impact bots have on the game is even bigger now than a while back (crashing auction house, inflated crystal prices etc)
I know its a hated thing in the gaming community (in alot of places). But why cant we simply just have a kernel 0 level anticheat be implemented into lost ark for the western version. It would completely kill all the bots.
People have the argument to kernel 0 anticheats that people will leave the game because they dont want to give a game full access to their pc etc. But with the current issues the bots provide, wouldnt more people leave because the game isnt optimally working for them, to a extent where you cant even buy things from auction house sometimes?
If someone really loves and wants to play a game, they would rather have a kernel 0 anticheat rather than all these bot issues. If we look at the case of Valorant as an example, Riot Vanguard anticheat uses kernel 0. In the start people were skeptical about it and didnt like the fact that Valorant were gonna use it, but after a while the hate calmed down and game became more and more popular.
Im asking Amazon & Smilegate if you please could consider trying to implement a kernel 0 anticheat to the game (possibly send out a Survey which would let you know how many people would be ok with this type of anticheat). I know you’re trying diffrent things to combat the bots, removing gold sources from the game etc. But doing this will also just hurt people who plays the game F2P. Wouldnt it be easier to just use something more strict at detecting cheats/bots?
You’re legitimately out of your mind if you think anyone would actually be okay with that level of anticheat. It doesn’t mean they don’t love the game either. Asking for that much access to someone’s PC is a complete infringement on their privacy and is legally unacceptable in the US. Nice try.
Even if the community accepted this and all of the red tape with SG was cleared for them to develop it, AGS would never put in that much effort to fighting bots for a game with 20-30k concurrent players.
Question is : is it worth it ? Does it make future money when the player base already decline that much.
The game itself is flaw in term of progression set aside the bot. Just let it rot and focus the budget on Blue protocol instead this game, the core design is flaw and will just have a slow and painful decline just like in KR that is experiencing right now.
concurrent players (i.e. on at the same time on steam), i’d guess 20-30k on avg throughout the day, maybe 40-45k at peak times, not counting Korea.
some people will say 80k concurrent, but there are still many bots that went unbanned. Even if the ban wave got rid of 80% of them, that would still leave about 50,000 bots.
