as fast as the last one? lol
Exactly, we don’t know.
So there may be people who really RMTed in the past and got banned today c:
It is a possibility-
This is why they need to hire a freaking GM.
I strongly suggest sending out message via steam. Most of the people who got falsley banned don’t even seem to play this game anymore, there is no way they are going to see a message on this forums.
They’ve got VAC bans on their steam accounts because of this.
This just seems so weird a large group of players who barely have played and havent played since practically launch suddenly have a problem with logging in? ![]()
Yeah it’s really weird, thats why i came with this tin foil theory that they are old RMTers that get away with it in the past and now they were able to detect and ban all of those accounts lol
The biggest problem I have is this happened like 4 days ago
Where was the outrage then?
Did no one think like “oh hey I got this thing on my Steam account, I’mma wait til Saturday to complain though (btw someone posted a screenshot of Roxx saying they don’t issue VAC bans on their end, so SG fault if the VAC bans are true I guess?)”
And even better there were not many out of the ordinary negative reviews leading up until today
Which, if the outrage was as bad as it was, would have had more people noticing and reviewing quicker, no?
One way I thought was “oh they appealed it but AGS wouldn’t reverse it” so all of these people appealed it and received the news it wasn’t reversed on the same day
It just doesn’t make sense
Yeah it seems pretty manufactured. I dont think many legit players got banned at all. This is just a ploy to get bots unbanned
I mean don’t get me wrong, anyone who had their accounts banned unjustly should have them overturned if they didn’t do anything 100%
But this whole thing just screams “planned negative review bomb” to me
I got no proof, but I got a feeling
Again, 4 days
I made an account to end this echo chamber.
Everyone affected by the inactive player ban wave was banned yesterday and today, not 4 days ago. Consequently, the wave of negative reviews started yesterday. This explains your conspiracy theory away.
Everyone who was affected on Steam had a giant yellow popup appear, interrupting any fullscreen application currently running at the time. We did not need to log into Lost Ark to know we were banned. Example:
Everyone mad about it is angry because the game is linked to Steam, and when they gave us a permaban, they also communicated that to Steam, which branded us with an ugly red mark on our profiles. This potentially impacts our ability to use Steam, in the marketplace or in other multiplayer games. We couldn’t care less about being banned from Lost Ark, but the Steam In-Game Ban is ridiculous.
Lastly, you’re barely seeing any information on this because having a permaban understandably makes it so that you cannot post on the Lost Ark forums, meaning you have to create a new amazon account, a new steam account, in order to post. If you look at reddit, there are tons of posts:
This is just a few.
Why all the unnecessary melodramatics? It literally doesnt affect your life in any meaningful way. Some of you take this insignificant stuff wayyy too seriously.
Because Reddit is a complete, non-biased, reliable, non-bot ridden source, right
Anywho
So ok, say it started yesterday like you said
Where was the outrage then?
Like people keep posting graphs on the negative reviews
But the numbers today pale in comparison to yesterday
Were people just not angry yesterday? Especially seeing as how many probably got home to see that giant yellow box
Again, I’m not saying people weren’t legitimately affected
What I am saying is that there are too many negative reviews in one day versus the day before which was when it technically started
To me it doesn’t make sense, especially with how impatient people are to scream about something nowadays
The false bans started yesterday, as more affected people catch on, more negative reviews will flow in. It is simple logic that negative reviews today will outweigh negative reviews from yesterday, because more people know that they are affected, and are trying to find ways to express their dissatisfaction.
On the reddit point, I’m not saying there aren’t bots and bad actors on reddit, but if you actually read through any of those posts, you’ll find most people are probably genuine.
In any case, if this reply and my previous mini-essay aren’t enough to convince you, I’m afraid nothing ever will.
All the bots are coming back now btw. Vern already flooded with them in NAW Akkan, back up to 5+ channels and climbing. Don’t think the new bot ban system is working.
lmao pretty good one
I mean coming into the forums with the intent of swaying people to your side is just not a good idea in general
I myself am always up to discussion and while a lot of time I may agree to disagree with people
I try to find the logic and truth in things that happen
Those Reddit posts you put up are all from today it looks like, so from what it looks like the bans were done early this morning maybe (like 12:01 morning) since no other posts from yesterday (speculation)
But again, one of my original points is why most people didn’t, you know, start appealing it right away?
Like the first thought of many people was to go and leave negative review the game instead of going through the proper support channels and trying to get it reversed
I get people are angry, but if people are really this upset over a game that many have claimed they haven’t played in months
Why would their first reaction be to go leave a negative review and shit on the game, especially if they haven’t played it in over a year
Because my first reaction would be to try and get it reversed, and if I couldn’t at all then I would leave a negative review saying what happened
Again, something seems fishy about all of this and I’m trying to figure out what the hell happened
And it looks like AGS is trying to fix it at this point too, so that’s a plus at least
Holy,
this will be a huge Compensation soon
Well, when your support tickets are automatically dismissed by automated responses, and initial attempts to get your case resolved via social media are instantly auto-modded away into obscurity, you start to latch on to anything that could potentially trigger a response, you know?
The review bombing was never the first response (for most genuine people affected by this), it just happens to be the one that is most visible.
My intent was to convey the side of the adversely affected people, who have almost no representation on this forum due to the rules of the forum to begin with.
Believe me if you want, there is no conspiracy here, we were basically randomly targeted for having played this game on launch and deciding that it wasn’t our sort of game. AGS reversing the bans is the least they can do.
Been trying to figure this out for a month. Pretty sure this is EAC related error. AGS relies on EAC to do all the bot bans for them.
