First, always Level 11 Blast Formation first, not Wind God. Blast Formation is your main damage spender. You should also interchange your Wealth Runes on your Energy Combustion and Roar, and get their corresponding Esoteric Tripods.
Honestly, your build is quite solid already. This setup will set you up even until Valtan Hard.
Though, you’d need more Spec, 600-700 is the sweet spot at this gear level.
You’re build is fine, good enough to not need to replace anything until you have full Relic setup and can easily clear valtan normal. The only slight modification that you could make is replacing Raid Captain or Cursed Doll for Adrenaline 3 and going a 3,3,3,1 setup of Grudge, Raid/Cursed, Adrenaline, Eso 1. This is to supplement the fact that with the upcoming patch the ESO build will lose the crit rate thats on the winds whisper tripod Oath of the wind. It is also recommended to be in groups with a Gunslinger or Deadeye to supplement low crit rate if you plan to expand to a 5x3 setup in the future with KBW. Besides that your doing great.
Yo, thank you for the feedback that actually helps me a lot (especially the group synergy) I main a berserker at 1416 but man I am finding my berserker to be boring, and I love the WD playstyle. My favorite ability is sky shattering blow, the instant counter attacks are amazing. I’ll try to get that engraving setup, as soon as the gold starts to flow back in. Ty ty.
Ok done, and done. My tripods for those 2 abilities are as follow level 3 energy combustion, and level 3 on all tripods for energy combustion, and then Roar is level 4 eso tripod. I’ve got lvl 7s gems for both wind and blast formation, and I’m running the Lost wind cliff 7% crit, should I use a different deck?
You don’t need a Level 7 CD Gem for Wind God since the base cooldown of the skill is already low enough to use in between the burst windows.
I’d prioritize getting Level 7 CD Gem on your WW if you don’t have it yet.
On your card set, LWC is already a good pick up and since you’ll be lacking crit on the new balance patch (since they will change the Crit Rate tripod on WW to Mana Regen).
it’s not CD gem, its the damage gems, and I got them really cheap so I kept them to see how much they go up haha. oh currently have a level 6 WW cd gem, but will aim for 7
oh if it is a damage gem then it’s all good. but then again i’d suggest going for a high level WW CD Gem first at least Level 5+ but if you can afford Level 7s then go ahead.
If you use the Roar +2 second duration Tripod, you’d need a similar level CD gem with WW to sync their cooldowns.
I think for sure it’s one of the weaker classes but maxroll also doesn’t do it any favors. One spender build with Crit is a LOT better and more competitive with the gear that we have. That of course takes a bit of research and I don’t blame people for following the guide on maxroll and not having a good time.
It sucks because same thing happened to me, but I was able to make it a lot better
Clearly OP didn’t do some research beforehand or even asked on the wardancer channel to ask for help and he just went upgrade his Wardancer to 1415 and then complain here in the forums for Wardancer being a bad class since he probably thinks having a high ilvl makes his own opinion more valid than actual Wardancer mains.
People should follow examples like you, rather than complaining first and spread misinformation.
I always thought that Wardancer is a burst class (the class that I am playing). so the “low damage” section is completely irrelevant until you are having wrong build. 1415 WD here. I play in a same party each day with one bard, one shadow hunter with +20 weapon, and a 1415 scrapper. it takes around 3:30 to 4 minutes to take down the Fox. it happened for me to go afk in the middle of the fight. for example yesterday I went afk because of doorbell immediately after phase 3 of the Night fox, and simply resulted for the team to spend extra 1 minutes to kill the fox (fight time was around 4 minutes and 50 secs). so do I had enough damage/buffs to cut down the 1 minute of the time we fight with Night fox? surely.
are you unhappy with the fact that you can’t achieve the same DPS as your db against the dummy target while playing wardancer? well, good luck practicing with dummy target…
I already noticed a ton of classes doesn’t properly work without a certain level of gear, it’s a game flaw and there’s nothing we can do.
My main problem with the class is how locked we are in skills, 3 slots are wasted in passive/semi passive skills(Wind, Roar and Energy). Wish we only had a maximum of 2 buttons for those things so we could pick another actual skill. So many cool animations and tripods that are never used.
Also, wardancer esoteric skills are unfortunately very underwhelming in terms of animation and impact feel(especially tornado for single target, what a waste of a button). The class could use some sort of rework in terms of that, just to put it at the same level of Striker.
Also I should remind that early transition of your gear to relic won’t make this class better at the next patch, until you come fully prepared or you are whaling. you are losing at least 10+10 % crit rate if you transfer 4 set to domination set after update(10 percent for argos, 10% oath of wind level 1, or 16% if it’s level 4), which is huge. without proper engraving/relic accs, you just made your life hard by simply closing your eyes and destroying your hard earned legendary set in trade for less damage in early stages before vykas release. so please do some calculations
I almost died of copium while reding your answer to this mans problem. What relic set is gonna improve your dmg that much, when you cant have full relic set mate, even though 2 set piece is better then Argus, still this is not that much please. I have worked my ass of for leg judgment and conviction just to see how they nerf em 50% next week. I have spend lot of time thinking how to build the character, just to see how they remove my 15 % crit. Eso nerfed. So what do we do now? invest another 20-30k to replace my accessories maybe?
4pc Dominion Fang can be crafted right away with Valtan.
You will still use Conviction and Judgment, but you will need an Awakening Engraving now to have 100% uptime of the Dominion Fang buff.
The crit rate removal only hurted 2 spender Eso builds, for 1 spender or FI it doesn’t really affect them that much. Esoteric skills got a 14% overall damage buff and a 18% non-esoteric skill damage buff in the trade off of crit rate. Wardancer also got a Spec Scaling buff which also buffs 2 spender.
You don’t need to spend that much, a simple Adrenaline is more than enough to get sufficient crit rate for your spenders. You will avoid KBW as 2 spender eso though.
The Crit Rate removal is not a big factor and the playstyle is still the same, nothing changed at all. You just see white numbers more ofthen but even then 2 spender does still have the higher damage ceiling over 1 spender and FI anyway.
answer is easy: are you a whale? if yes, so RUSH because you can buy everything you want!
if no, so be patient. we have some time between release of valtan and vykas, at least a few months, and for me a few months is enough to get some good engravings with accs. and if you simply think that rushing to domination set makes this class working without fixing your engravings, you made the class worse.
so the class will surely shine after some time for both patient people and whales. but for impatient people who will start complaining immediately at day 1? never maybe
You can also try using an Epic Adrenaline Imprint (9x node) so you can possibly cheap out on your accessories.
There are so many possible approaches on possibly fixing the problem and yet the approach you went into is literally complain without planning it out firsthand.
