Good evening AGS/SGR team and community,
First of all, thank you everybody from the Community team at AGS for your given responses and attentiveness to the needs of your players. I understand that you as the Community team are the front-facing part of the company, and in turn, you guys face the brunt of all of us when we are upset. Thank you for your vigilance.
That being said: Here are my thoughts on the joint letter that was released earlier today. The addition of tailoring and metallurgy books to the Grand Prix rewards is a good move, as well as the additional amount of available materials from the event. The telling point will be the exact extra amount that is placed in. If the goal is to allow players to get to the content that is released, it will need to be a significant amount, given that honing rates are not being changed at this time.
The addition of the Guardian event is another good addition to inject more honing materials into the economy. Also, with the addition of the PvP vendor in the following update, more materials will be injected into the economy. This is a great addition. My only telling point will be the amount of materials presented. We know that bots have literally poisoned the server economy and have kept prices high, and that problem will need to be dealt with. But this all leads me to my ultimate thought on this topic:
I believe that this is a stop-gap measure until the honing rate/material rate patch can be coded for the Global release. @ShadowWolf and @Roxx please correct me if I am wrong here, if you’re able to disclose that information lol. IF this is planned as a stop-gap measure, then the amount of materials will need to offset the current honing rates for 1340-1370. Everybody at this point already knows how disappointing it is to log on, do all of your dailies, get your materials (usually enough for 2-3 honing attempts) only to fail every time and just have to try again tomorrow. You may be happy to know that I’m up to 1359 now, after failing so much on my shoulders that I hit 100% artisan’s energy and got a guaranteed pity-upgrade.
