Every 30 seconds in-game, the cpu usage suffer a 30% increase lasting for around 6-8 seconds.
The pattern is clear when i check rivatuner statistics graphics, the cpu spikes always wait for around 30 seconds before it happens again, this increased cpu usage state last for around 6 or 8 seconds, after that the cpu usage goes back down to it’s regular use, only for the same thing happen again after 30 seconds, and this pattern goes on forever until i quit the game, but it doesn’t fix anything, i start the game again and after around 5 minutes of playtime the pattern start happening again.
I imagined it was the anti cheat constantly scanning the game, but task manager points the culprit being the Lost Ark client itself and not easy anti cheat like many people claim when they talk about performance issues. Before i realised that, i have tried to set cpu priority low on anticheat and high for the game client, even made registry keys for that, but no success, it’s clearly coming from Lost Ark and not the anti cheat. (Unless that’s not how it works and the anti cheat can increase the lost ark cpu usage instead of increasing it’s own process usage)
It doesn’t matter if i’m in a crowded place or if i’m chilling alone in the middle of nowhere doing nothing, the cpu spikes always follow the same 30 seconds pattern i mentioned.
Stuttering gradually increases the longer i play the game, until eventually the game becomes almost like a slide show, specially on the opening minutes of group content, the first 2 minutes of any guardian raid plays almost like a slide show, to fix that i’m forced to quit the game and start the game again in order to play with a reasonable performance. But i know that after 1 or 2 hours the stuttering will be unbearable again.
