Shot in the dark I assume the answer is no. Is there anyway I can get help to revert a item I bought by mistake?

Hey bud. If you transfer the piece to something else, so you don’t lose the gear level, you can dismantle it and get the mats back. Don’t do this unless you gear transfer it though.
