Daily 20 item registration limit - How exactly does this stop bots?

I hope this isn’t too obvious of an answer but, wouldn’t improving the official exchange rate so folks get more gold for their real currency also undercut the appeal of super cheap bot gold?

Maybe try a one-time “sale” and see how much it actually boosts buys from dolphins and discount shoppers.

Now bots have to fuse lvl1 gems and sell, you not looking at right way,

This below is what the situation was lately in the game.

So is like limiting the amounts of drugs you can buy per day, that will help stop the drug dealers from selling drug?

SG does not care about bussers and actually will prefer changes that cut down on flipping / bussing

I know, it’s out of control.

Funnily enough, I can think of a similar analogy or example of something like this happening and it worked out. EVE Online earlier this year had to raise their prices on things in hopes of countering real-world inflation but they quickly saw the results as more and more people decided not to renew their accounts and the playerbase plummeted. So it was decided to seemingly rollback the prices and offer discounts and it got people to come back. RMT and botting in that game is fairly evident as well but not quite on the level we see here in Lost Ark.

This type of idea would be good when the botting issue and RMT gold finally gets handled properly. Though I don’t know if these changes are going to be enough as I think the 20 items per roster daily limit will scare off some players, including dolphins or whales.

Those who lack the skill will always be jealous. Yeah, we’re just going to be spreading out the busses a bit, I think it’s not terrible on that front and I’ll still enjoy raking in double the gold for my Legion Raids regardless. Especially now with Brel Gear the alts will be able to more comfortably bus Clown, and that’s one accessory listing LOL

So even if Mr. deep here wants to cry and whine, eventually the alt army will get more efficient at bussing thanks to this update - very big here. Spreading out Valtans and Vykas is a pain, but we’ll live with it.

On the real though, I’m just gonna go through and list all my Summoner Stones/Accessories tonight and hopefully someone’s brain will light up at AGS. If it went from 20 → 40, I’d have zero complaints. Just right now the Fusion Materials eat away at too many daily listings, and that really sucks.

It’s both together in tandem.

Trusted requirement on the AH will force bots to use multiple characters and rosters on the same trusted accounts to counter it.
Then, they are met with the second blow, which is the 20 item limit.

It will definitely help AGS to make bots less affective at the huge expense of player experience, your lazy approaches so far have achieved nothing so far. 3-day gold limit did nothing but worked as a catalyst for RMTers. This 20 item limit will make gearing extremely expensive as there will be no undercutting, I don’t know if you actually play the game or not but this is rip off. Only people are happy with this are casuals who have no idea how AH works as they just raid on 2 chars and do dailies on rest and get some good drop to sell in blue moon but most players playing LA until this days are hardcore who bus and interact with AH a lot and maybe bussing is the main reason they still play LA because some players want to carry others and feel like god.

I have a simple response for you

People dun fucked things up when the game released and now this is why we can’t have nice things

The players

AGS

SG

This is the culmination of everything that has happened

Bots wouldn’t have been like it is now if too many players didn’t buy third party RMT gold

Bots wouldn’t have been like it is now if SG and AGS realized this was a problem early and nipped it in the bud

Bots wouldn’t have been like it is now if players who didn’t third party RMT think about the future consequences of selling 900g leaps

We’re getting exactly what we deserve as a community

And it’s about damn time

If you think busing people thru valtan or vykas makes you feel like a god, then you need to work on your standards

No longer unlimited anymore due to:

With the prevention updates, untrusted accounts will now be restricted from the Auction House, Market, Loot Auctions, Stronghold Gifting, and all player-to-player trading.

They can create as many accounts as they want but they will not be able to do anything with those accounts unless they go through the process of making them trusted. Which costs money and takes some time to process.

This is what the 20 listing limit is probably intended to solve. They will eventually run out of slots on the current accounts that they have. After which they will be forced to decide if they want to spend millions of dollars getting all of those accounts trusted status… or take the more reasonable option and cut back on their operations - Thereby reducing the stress on the AH and potentially the servers at large as well. After which AGS/SGR will have the option to remove the limits or increase them as necessary.

It is by no means perfect. But it should be effective. Depending on how reasonable the gold farmers want to be. They could potentially launch a bot attack on the servers out of spite. Hopefully they are prepared to deal with that if the farmers do decide to be petty about this.

They will still need to have an unlimited account on steam. Which requires $5 and usually a 30 day waiting period before Lost Ark updates your account. Multiply that cost by the number of bot accounts that they are currently fielding and it really becomes a matter of cost effectiveness for them. At best they decide to pull their operations from the game entirely and move on to greener pastures. At worst they are forced to either cut back on the number of bots that they are fielding or dramatically increase the price of their gold to be more in line with the current legitimate exchange prices in order to offset the increased cost of business.

You’re not wrong

For tonight however, I’m just playing Dwarf Fortress after having a very nice almost weekl long break from Lost Ark

Once they’ve removed the million or so Trusted Bot accounts in existance today, that have already been created and just haven’t been used yet, perhaps. We’ll see there are ways around Steam Guard with mobile and emulated phone applications.

I agree, was simply just listing off the last 2 months of pain the general Lost Ark player has endured, and now they have a daily limitation placed upon everything in the market. The bots do not sell accessories, the bots do not trade stones, this is a catch all change that wasn’t planned out fully and did not look at how it will impact players of various play styles across the game.

Again, I am not against the idea of what they are trying to do here and it’s great to see start to at least officially acknowledge the bot issue again. I want this to work, but we will have to see how the next few weeks play out.

Well put, though do you think there’s anything that can be done to undo this entire mess? Other than a time machine of course. I think we’re too far gone at this point, even if they found a way to finally deal with bots and 3rd party RMT for good, they also know they’ll have destroyed this game with this ass-backward changes where it’ll be too far gone.

Yes they have.

No they don’t have.

There are different frigging bots! Some players are running bots too!

This restriction is rather bothersome actually, to players some players. This also restrics some bots more than some others.

I don’t even bus anything anymore but I am WOW player and I know the mentality of bussers, trust me or not but this is true and stop being so smart with your words as after all anyone who is playing LA have to work on their standards KEKW.

But anyways if there are people who play LA just to do legion raids then why can’t be there are players who just play LA to bus others? You are really disconnected from hardcore bussing community, there are players who bus every single thing from Oreha to Kakul, I still bus Valtan and Oreha because i don’t have to deal with partners.

so will there be “too many adventurer using this service” error after the patch, if it is, then this 20 daily reg limit is useless

Not really. The community is not to be blamed. When you get triple the cost of gold of other regions (80 in RU) but (238 in our region) in a gold nerfed version at launch, the publisher is to blame for setting the prices so high pushing players to RMT.

Had they lowered the RC to 80. The botting problem will disappear and no changes would’ve been needed to ruin the game.

Oh I’ve gotten back into Stardew Valley and I’m hoping to finish this playthrough this time

It’s a nice change of pace
