Deadeye need a Rework/Balance [Urgent]

I’m following this build: Enhanced Weapon Deadeye Raid Guide for Lost Ark on Maxroll.gg

I think you just need to learn attack patterns of the bosses, the class is weaker compared to some other but i wouldnt say its bad to the point of needing a rework.

When you are under 1385 this is another situation, most of the other players don’t have the correct build with the correct engravings.

The real problem is:

Imagine a party only with dps, everyone is correctly builded and are doing everything right, even you. In this situation, you just can’t get MVP, it’s impossible, even playing perfectly, because the class is a meme.

Why do you care about MVP so much ? If you did everything correctly then your group cleared the raid, if you want MVP just play something else.

But, why they create a class limited like this? That’s just insane… but your are right, I’ll try Deathblade.

It is limited for now, before you get the relic set for back attacks.

My friend plays deadeye in our 4 man group of sorc (me), gunslinger, and bard. We were doing velganos daily before the patch and he definitely had a hard time for the first like week but he only brings 45%s to velganos because he’s gotten better. He’s always neck and neck on damage with our gunslinger and even though neither of them MVP often they are still contributing.

I honestly think deadeye is specifically designed to be hard as a squishy close range back attacker, you really rely on that mobility. Me on reflux sorc I can stand a mile from the boss with no positionals and better mobility options and vastly out damage due to pure uptime. But in trixion we’ve tested and he does WAY more damage in a perfect scenario. Obviously you’re not going to get to just attack a scarecrow in actual content but it means the more you improve the more you will catch up in damage with lower skill ceiling classes (reflux sorc, Shadow hunter, berz)

We did Valtan last night and he was having no trouble staying alive or dpsing. Of course the two sorcs and two bards were on the MVP screen but I believe he did his part because I only got 22% damage.

Keep at it friend, the class is just hard, and you will git gud.

For anyone wondering what he deleted, it was something about how many people said that it is his lack of skill and he is motivated to improve.

  1. Deadye is a really really challenging class to play. This is partially the reason why he has such a low play rate in Korea.
  2. Deadeye DPS is actually fairly high, its just challenging to perform said dps in a boss fight. Hence high skill ceiling.

I think the general point is just that the class is really hard. Once you get relic sets, the class actually becomes even harder because you now HAVE to hit back attacks (relic set gives 50% crit dam, 20% crit chance and 18% damage for hitting back attacks). You have to struggle to do good dps. Positional classes also tend to underperform while learning content, while beating out hitmaster classes after you’ve learned the bosses patterns.

If you don’t enjoy that playstyle, then I would recommend playing gunslinger. You get to use sniper skills, and you can do damage from anywhere due to not needing back attacks.

But if you insist on quitting, then o7.

That’s one thing I don’t understand about the balancing in the game. I feel like damage should be congruent with the difficulty of the class. I would have no problem if deadeye had busted damage to compensate for all of the downsides. Sorc and berserker have crazy damage and are super easy classes why should they be able to tap a button once from any direction and have a massive aoe damage that does twice the damage of a directional skill from a squishy back attacking class

Deadeye has higher dps then those classes in a perfect scenario, this is after relic armor set tho so … just gotta wait.

The fact that many have said the problem is probably the lack of skill, motivated me to want to improve my skills… I’ll try hard :fist_right:

Did you realize that you don’t have any Crit like that build recommends, but you have swiftness instead? I would recommend you to remove Grudge at this stage if you can, heavy armor would be a better fit until you get your relics.

I was thinking the same thing about the engrave, good idea. But the Swiftness is correct once I’m using Adrenaline. .

I do agree, Deadeye pre 1370 was a hassle to play. High risk for mediocre reward. You don’t have enough spec/swift and gems in my experience. If i had to guess this is probably the bi product of them balancing the class for “later” game content

Well I’m not sure about that, as I don’t know if any of us are playing the class to its absolute max potential. SGS has gone on the record to say that deadeye is doing fine in Korea in the later raids, and I’m willing to take their word for it since it matches pretty well with my experience.

P3 is a bad matchup, nothing more. Our greatest asset is mobility and the way the whole fight is designed is against that. Not that argos has many fans in general

You also play full greed damage while obviously still lacking the skill to back it up (it really isn’t meant as an insult, skill ceiling is really high with this class). Get spiritual absorbtion - whatever damage you lose by switching 1 engraving out you’ll make up in consistency. And it’s better then trading spec for swift.

Also never push Enhanced weapon beyond 1, especially if you have Adrenaline 3.

And no, it’s not impossible to mvp over other classes. The more complicated the fight the easier deadeye has it because of his mobility. But it is taxing on the execution. Practice makes perfect and unfortunately this means that the first few times you go in a new instance you will always have a really hard time

then play pistoleer, is easier to play and got buffed

It is the same nuance as me playing my Soulfist. Love the class, but I was underperforming the most in the team. But I kept at it and registered my skill flow into memory and just be efficient in my choices and I started seeing huge improvements.

If a class has a high skill level to play optimally, the onus is on you to decide if you want to walk down that path. I hated gunslinger in the beginning because switching 3 weapons through fights without thinking about it, was such a problem until I put in enough hours to make it seamless and natural. And now it’s my favourite class to play. (Not to mention I pvp with her a lot too to be mechanically better at her). So yeah, you have to take the steps to be better at the class you want to play.

A good analogy is, you decided to be an Olympic track runner but you’re Caucasian (deadeye). You know for a fact, you’re going to be stacked against people who are just genetically superior (non-positional/easy classes [zerks]). What do you do? You train and put in as much as OR much more hours than the others to be the better player. If not, you quit. And I see you’ve picked the latter =\
