Yes I know. But that quote misses the last part on “Why” I say that.
The entire post leans on saying most players have already searched the game, builds, classes and were aware of the unreleased classes as a way to justify why according to the op, it’s wrong and would make everyone else upset because their class didn’t release right away.
The above is more common done if a player is engaged into the game.
Me bringing out the nerfs is a way to refute that statement about “Everyone already knows the classes and available” as per the above, you would stumble upon unreleased classes if you search around info on the game
Roxx stated success rate was very low (<10% in some guardians) and they wanted to alleviate that as a reason for nerfs. Which meant the remaining number most likely had little to no idea of mechanics and were learning or searching as they go, so, the “Everyone will be angry because their main is not released” is flawed.
What I meant is, if players were so “Into” the game as op implies, the nerf reason “low success rate” wouldn’t have happened as people would have ready gone through guardian guides.
Maybe they would nerf for X or Y or Z, that’s up to them, I said engaged because it’s how the first post portrays your average player
people who the most waited the game, and who wants to play one of the 7 missing class (could say 6 because most people waiting did wait far before artist was a thing) will get frustrated (and not the good frustration)
And for other ? Yes they don’t care but i also don’t think they would be “no care” if they see 7 new class release in short time.
The drip feeding of classes is just a bad predatory practice of korean MMOs. In korean MMOs, they know the cost of changing your main char and they want to bank on you paying whatever is needed to change your main.
@id3al if only it was just $50… cuz let me tell you it never is to reroll. All these people who never played the game and think rerolling at 1500+ is just simply logging onto the new char are in for a rude awakening. When you are simultaneously dumping resources into two chars at the same time in hopes you eventually can shorten that gap…
Most people right now literally only got where they are through islands. They have no idea how hard things will get as we keep on playing. And honing mats aren’t even necessarily the biggest wall. Even before 1500+ you start running out of silver just pushing one character. Good luck trying to reroll a main after we get a few more content updates…
See for me idk have thought theyd have released destroyer and summoner 1st to round out the huge amount of dps we have available to pick from already. Id definitely imagine lance is gonna be near the back though as its the most played in ither regions… kind of like a “oh shit bring players back” move.
As i said for people who expect to play one of missing class as main there will be a choice :
Or they play without it, to do content, and will have hundreds hour of gametime to spend just for the “new main” to become the main. Including to freeze the “previous” main in its own progression. With a nice feeling of “time lost” which will be a nice frustration
just stick at 1325/1340/1370 ilvl for different character, letting other people enjoy the game, and gathering honing stuff to rush the new main => frustration to not enjoy the game
@Inuro oh 100% and if you are someone pushing the hardmodes of Legion Commanders or Brelshaza… better be ready to swipe if you want to reroll because there’s no grinding that will catch you up in a reasonable amount of time with all the timegates/rng involved
And to @Aerlana and @Zaee. The third option for people who want to play a missing class will be (as Zaee already mentioned) to swipe a lot. Which is exactly what AGS and Smilegate want. That sweet, sweet profit.
People defending this either already found a main to play, or don’t yet realize they won’t be rerolling. Or they are whales.
I am just waiting for the updated roadmap and probably taking a break until my main is released.
It is worse… because for some people, their choice could be 1 or 2, the temptation to swipe a lot to make it faster will be real. Because getting over 1400, even with 12 reroll ready and many component waiting…
@Inuro mhm and even Saintone who notoriously stockpiled a TON of mats to immediately reroll to Sorc when it came out, still had to swipe a bit iirc. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure he said he still didn’t have enough mats at first. But i mean he’s a self-professed whale anyway. My guild is pretty hardcore so this is potentially my future depending on where they decide to shaft Summoner next but at this point i’m just expecting a December release.
Imagine being a regular f2p player. If your class comes in December, if you didn’t quit already due to disappointment and lack of connecting with your forced main then you’re looking at quite the uphill battle to swap mains or risk not running with friends/guildmates/statics until you catch up
And before someone mentions the Punika Powerpass and the catchup that KR has to 1435 ilvl - there’s no timeline nor guarantee that we’ll even get a Punika Powerpass and let’s be honest, the West historically does not take to boosts like this very well because they feel it invalidates all their hard work and selling this would get the same backlash FFXIV gets for their boosts.
As for the catchup, well we can’t even get that until we at least have Kouku Saton since he’s part of it lol
Then you still have to bridge the gap from 1435-1490 which is very expensive in materials and resources. Plus you’ll need to farm optimal tripods in your gear, level 7+ gems (sure you can stockpile and reroll them but rip silver?), assuming you’re a whale you’ll be in plus 20-25 Argos gear so at least you won’t need your Legion Commander set. If you played the class before at endgame, jumping into Legion raids shouldn’t be too hard but if you only played it in like beta like Summoner - you may die a bit. Fun fun
Don’t worry though. Just play a class you don’t enjoy and reroll in 7 months. That’s what people on this forum are saying
About the “papunika pass” mentionned as “non real help” by zaee.
For people still in t2, your are slowed by 40% base honing to go +14=>+15 right ? my weapon is stuck +7 now because of the base 30% to go 7=>8
And while in t1/t2 each honing gives 20 ilvl on the item, 3,333 on the whole stuff… in t3 it is 5 ilvl on the item, 0,83 on the whole stuff…
Understand that getting instant 1302 ilvl is just offering the easy part of the work…
@Jheon read this and then kindly stop talking please. Even Roxx has responded that the amount of backlash is staggering so clearly you are the minority here
man I’m waiting for destroyer and I personally want to play destroyer before it gets reworked to see what they actually plan to change… also I agree 1 class per month is just awful specially when the game is brand new it makes more sense to release more classes at least at the early stages.
