First issue: Heavy Armor. It doesnt do much for you, if anything just get protection runes.
Second: You have a lot of skill damage engravings but none actually increase base attack power. You need something like increase mass, cursed doll, or grudge.
Thirdly: tripods and gems matter a LOT more than you think. Be sure to work on those.
Fourth: make sure you have decent item quality. The stat bonuses off your weapon is immense.
Surge blade testing in Trixion only gives you numbers for what an ideal situation would look like. This is pretty much never the case in actual raids/dungeons, especially if you have random patterns like Vykas.
Testing for Remaining Energy however, gives you a much better estimate as it is much closer to actual game play.
When I test in Trixion, I do about 15-20% more damage with Surge than RE. So, looking at RE damage is a way to determine to get a rough estimate for Surge.
Given that raid mechanics have an impact. The overall damage between RE and Surge are roughly the same.
Youre not beating any similarly geared sorc or zerker on dps on anything, all other things equal.
Like others have said, destroyers have the edge in other categories outside of pure DPS. You cant compare a tanky stagger gigachad bonk bonk to a squishy dps focused class.
After a 3 minute test on Trixion, I end up a bit higher than 400M damage with my taijutsu scrapper 1462 with 4 earth entropy + 2 salvation poem / weapon +20 / 4x3 +1x2 engraving / tripod for most lvl 4 /gemme lvl 5-7. On the other hand, in my roster of “normal” people on Vikas HM, I’m not first dps, but I do stagger 2 + players and even on a Kongelanium, if I manage one day to play with good players, with this staggering gap I would certainly be MVP
You should change main if you took the time to post this. It seems you enjoy being top DPS instead of enjoying the classes themselves. Be prepared to bust out the swipes though, because you will probably be changing mains often with that mindset.
First of all your priority is not set right. Your dmg engraving should be class> super charge> gurdge> barricade> master brawler.
Reason why is bcs super charge and grudge will ALWAYS amplify ALL ur damage. Barricade only applies when shielded so only purple skill since they give shield. And master brawler is situational. But we always try to aim for front for maximum out. If it possible is a different question.
Now your second issue is you are comparing yourself with randoms. Even if you habe the same il there are soo many factors that you cant compare yourself like that with another player let say another class. Are your gem level equal, are you tripods equal ? Are your stats allocated correctly ?
You might be comparing apples with pears.
I have a destroyer in my party and he easly keeps up with the dps of the rest. The question is more do you understand ur class ? If you play rage hammer. 80% is coming from your perfect swing. By just buying perfect swing tripods and gems you can significantly increase ur dps. Destoyer have some niche animation cancels like pressed space the oment seismic hammer is cat to not get the whole stand up animation.
My alt went from 5-6 mil crit to 17 mil by just adding lvl 5 tripods to perfecr swing and lvl 7 gems
I think your first process should be to understand ur class better before you start comparing it with others. And then compare with a same setup
I would add that the destroyer is not meant to be a top tier dps class, but is very welcomed when doing raids because a good destroyer brings additional counterattacks. Whenever I see a destroyer or gunlancer in our group I feel more confident that ‘we got this’.
People often forget that destroyer can ignore some mechanics because of ignore pain and his shields and keep dps, where other dps classes have to run for their lives. So your dps on a dummy will always be lower compared to squishy dps classes.
Surge blade is nerfed and he doing 10% more than re , you talking nonsense or you compare it to whale. Also compare surge blade on trixion have nothing realistic like in real fight.
So what you’re talking about is called damage ceiling. Some classes have a higher theoretical dps potential than others. Deathblade has some of the highest ceilings in the game and Scrapper is basically broken at the moment (nerf is incoming). But these ceilings don’t always translate to real dps in a fight.
The biggest factor in a real fight/raid though is your uptime. Bosses move around and have cutscenes etc. So a lot of times the player with the highest uptimes does the most dmg, not the player with the class that has the highest ceiling. Super armor is a big factor, skill ofc… Kungelanium often has Gunlancer MVP, simply because he can have near 100% uptime at the Boss, while others are running. Destroyer though is all about landing your biggest hitters like perfect swing as often as possible. Which isn’t always easy.
The other thing, when you play destroyer. You have taunt and you reduce the armor of the enemy. Those 4? seconds and debuff give all the other dps a big window to do burst dmg. That won’t show up in your dmg statistic, but you as a group do huge amounts more dmg because of you! You have to attribute that to you. It’s a coop game. What counts is the dps output of your grp, not one individual.
I main surge and yea she would be the strongest if not for vykass g1 pizaa , purple boss having super armor every 10 sec, G2 flying above us for like 10 sec then disappearing and appearing at the end of the map there goes 10 surges with 20 stacks . Not to mention clown he’s another story XD
What I mean is even if you get good at the game and know when bosess do mech you still can’t use surge effectively because of normal patterns that makes bosess none targetable or have super armor it’s all about luck and rng.
In the end u would deal the same damage if not more.
if you have heavy armor you should be combining it with tenacity so you can keep slapping the boss uninterrupted while everyone else has to dodge. It balances out in the end and you aren’t too far behind other classes. You can ignore most mechanics if you are timing your shields properly, only having to move for the important mechanics. The important part of raids is not dying, not damage. Admittedly I am bad at not dying, but it’s improving.
without heavy armor entire shield is gone in gravity mode from one attack, so my choices are either dodge and not hit head or eat attack and keep hitting head. now a second attack comes and I no longer have shield and i have to dodge and waste the rest of my bonk bar. With heavy armor this is never an issue. can hit head as much as i want without dying, only dodging to get to head. It’s only an issue in valtan where I have to stop dps because 7 other people have zero push immunity whatsoever and they will all get shot off the side if I ignore the counter mechanic. That is just bad game design. Thankfully, destroyer is getting buff so now its ok to waste a bar because you get it right back again. I will have to use more pheons to get a dps oriented engraving since I no longer have a reason to just eat hits.
And before you say something like “ThEn JuSt Do ThE mEcHaNiC pRoPeRLy” raids in this game are just a loot box with extra steps, all of the squidgames mechanics serve as a sort of extra time consuming captcha to stop bots and the number of extra steps I can eliminate is a good thing. so I am less annoyed when I finally get the meager helping of garbage that is somehow worth 1+ hours of my time. being capable of ignoring mechanics gives me more incentive to do raids. So if I can ignore the mechanic, I will. Otherwise it’s just events and book pvp for me.
I’ve never seen a non-wipe skill hitting and destroying the whole shield though… Any idea what that attack is? Valtan’s stone exploding seems to have the biggest non-wipe damage i’ve seen.
After the balance buff, my 500 spec destroyer can reach 109m perfect swing damage from swift paladin’s full buff in ice turtle. I easily reached 50% cruel fighter in ice turtle before buff, and after buff i got 72% cruel fighter. Our damage is also considered constant with a bit of burst (seismic hammer to endure pain to perfect swing has the biggest burst damage window, but all skills do hit hard)
You’ll always ALWAYS win red gunlancer’s damage. I’ve never really tried with striker the king of backattacks but i do know their single hit hits harder than ours. Still because we’re considered constant dps class we probably cannot compare apple to apple. Will try to compare later on.
