“and new classes will be released at a faster pace than that of new continents and Legion Raids.”
No he did not say vastly accelerated class releases. He just said that the classes will be released faster than Legion Raids and Continents which are on like 6 month cycles each. The wording is very specific
Let’s not leave out the exciting context before it:
However, I can say that we are planning to greatly reduce the gap between the Western build and the Korean build in our second year of live service compared to that of our first year. The speed of reducing that gap will be faster than what players expect, and new classes will be released at a faster pace than that of new continents and Legion Raids.
So they want to bridge it faster than last year and faster than we expect, so holding my breath of fresh copium
I have a couple of expectations but more realistic
We are likely to get Pletze between Akkan and Elgacia instead of 2 months after Akkan. So that’s a little bit more content than korea got in the same time.
I think it’s fairly likely they split up the difficulty of Akkan normal and hard for us. This lets us take advantage of the soft reset alot earlier than korea did so there’s a fair bit of catchup there. Also the content being 1580 means it’s the same as Kayangel Hard 3 which means that content might be closer together than it was in korea.
It’s likely just like how I think Akkan might be split up, Kayangel can be split also. This lets them bring Elgacia to us alot earlier while maintaining an expected timeline to 1580 of a few months to give us Akkan and Kayangel hard 3 after Elgacia.
Honestly if they go this route they can give us Elgacia as early as 2 months past Brel Hard which would be fantastic IMO. That means we can get Akkan 4 months after Elgacia which i think is plenty time to hone to 1580 on our mains.
It’s kinda a design philosophy thing and what I believe their’s is.
So the timing for the legion gates from what I can tell seem to be very planned. The gap between the legion raids was enough time that if you were on ilvl on the last release you had enough time to hit the next legion raid by then just by playing every few days. It feels to me like this was intentional and planned around the average income of a player who doesn’t play every day but plays every other day.
So for Akkan, if you release Akkan normal and hard at the same time there is going to be some expectation that a part of the player base can do Akkan hard on release. Now as to how reasonable this expectation is or not is up to you to decide but alot of people will think that if they drop hard then that means they should be able to do hard.
The problem is honing plummets like a fucking rock at 1580. Hitting 1600 from 1580 costs almost twice as much as the cost of hitting 1580 from 1560. So if they release Akkan with the expectation that people can hit hard it would be close to 8 months if you want to give people a chance to actually hit akkan hard in time. Akkan Normal tho comes with a soft reset so you can drop Akkan normal by itself alot earlier if you were to split it up to let people take advantage of the reset to have an easier path to akkan hard. It’s the same idea as splitting up brel hard and normal.
it’s a similar thing for Kayangel. Kayangel is split into 4 difficulties.
Normal 1475
Hard 1 1520
Hard 2 1560
Hard 3 1580
If they were to wait to release all of kayangel at once then they would have to wait 4 months again after Brel to release kayangel for similar reasons. But breaking it up means they can release it extremely close or even with Elgacia and just save the HArd 3 unlock for a bit later to give people a chance to hone there.
Bridge the gap quicker… yet brel normal and hard have a longer gap than anywhere else did. Apparently it was 2 months in KR and 3 months in RU, while it’s 4 months here.
Hard for sure should’ve came out this month. It didn’t even take 10 weeks to get full brel gear from doing only 1-4 runs. Let alone 1-6s or if got boxes.
While normal just gives relic gear still, so there was nothing else to farm beyond that.
I didn’t know it was roxx that was why I said an official. I didnt remember where I saw it, which could be live stream QnA, News section, forums, twitter, whatever. but I do remember seeing something along the lines of ’ the content update for this year will be a lot slower’. That’s why I posted this. Thank you for assuming that I have not done any search and thank you for useful advice
All but the live stream Q&A are easily searched, but even those shouldn’t be hard to peruse with how infrequent they are.
Stoopz had an interview with Roxx a few months ago?
LOAON doesn’t talk about West.
I’ve given you more than enough in my previous post to find what you’re looking for, but I’ll give you one more clue.
