I agree that ingame patch notes should exist so after every patch you have to scroll through them and click agree… if you dont want to read and just scroll through without reading then its on you if you mess something up… becuse with the express pass it became clear how many people dont go and check out the patch notes…
No but its the additional clarifications and ‘oopsies’ that should be communicated properly either by updating the original release notes or common issues that should be collated into a simple digestible post rather than hunting down posts via dev tracker.
Even then half the time it provides no real information about what’s being done about the issue.
Something in game is great for sure but I always check steam page and here for additional information. Problem is this forum just isn’t run very well.
I like this idea and put it at character select so that it doesnt get mixed in with all the other login pop ups like daily login rewards
Exactly path of exile does this perfect every new league they should just copy them
Yup never seen a forum like it.
Those that think that someone is stupid for not checking patch notes. Do you think that it is ok to not/bad/vague explain things ingame, because it is explained properly in the forum / patch notes?
Some of you mentioned a ingame pop-up or some other way to get informed more detailed about things INGAME. I do like that idea.
Is a „casual“ supposed to read patch notes? To know things more detailed? For me, I never checked patch notes before / I got the informations elsewhere be it through mates ingame or some other kind of way ingame.
But I think it’s wrong to say or rather to excuse the lack of details and informations ingame(!) about something new and huge with just saying „it’s your fault for not knowing because you didn’t read the patch notes“.
When you buy a product, reading it’s manual is optional.
But you should not be suprised and blame the seller if the product doesn’t work or gets broken because you refused to read the manual.
i think the main issue here is that KR+RU have their own launchers and we dont.
So everytime you launch the game you get patchnotes and new features and changes thrown into your face. this is simply not the case for the steam version. i think i would like to get a launcher that lets you disable it if you dont want to see it - it would solve most information issues imo.
In case of important informations, you could even have a popup that you have to close before you can enter the game. it would solve a lot of confusion.
Well you should at least read once a week the patch notes.
Look what happend with the Express Missions.
Patch Notes said it’s for under 1000 Gearscore or under and many used it on their T3 Mains and they had to fix that issue, which wouldn’t have happend,
if people would read at least the patch notes.
Time in game: 30 mins.
Forums: ALL DAY! WAY MORE FUN THAN THE FCN GAME!

No, but if a selection reward is given my first impulse is to go read more about it before making a selection.
Should it be… no…it does seem like it is a must if you want to know what is going on though
Forum? No XD
No one asked but
(I am considered Forum lurker within my group so I share whatever Roxx says to them since they hate the forum for, understandable reasons while one shares data, the other shares patch notes etc.)
Patch notes - to an extent! But it is highly recommended so you know what is happening within the game content. If you don’t want to read and rather listen, there is well-versed and known LA players on youtube or twitch who are always willing to share their knowledge!
I did that for Arkpass, and double checked with my friend since he always knows what to do loool.
I think update notes should be in the game, thrown at you when you first log in after an update. If they can throw the welcome challenge screen at you every single time you log in then they can throw an update page at you where you click to not show it again. This also absolves them of any criticism if someone didn’t read the update details on the web or through their Steam library.
Until or if this is never done, I do think people should read the update details on here or elsewhere before starting the game for the first time after an update. Shouldn’t be this way but it is and people should accept reality and inform themselves rather than being uninformed, making a mistake because of poor details/descriptions in the game, and then being upset afterward.
In real life , you get a copy of the “rules” or you need to go to an specific place to read them …? i think is the second option eh .
Don’t see your point there bruh.
If the “rules” are not 100% clear and you stuff up. whos fault is it.
You or the person that set the “rules”?
I think is the second option eh.
My opinion… it really depends on how invested the player is.
Some casual players don’t care about patch notes. They just play to have fun. They don’t care if they make mistakes here and there and won’t complain about it.
Other players are more heavily invested. Some of these don’t care too much about mistakes and make do with what they have. Others complain about every little thing.
The latter should read major patch notes that come once a month or maybe even follow forum for updates on specific things that really matters to them.
Basically, it’s not a must read. But if you make a mistake because you are ill informed, that’s mostly on you. That said, AGS communication and in game descriptions are, no doubt, lacking. Hopefully they get better at that.
patch notes should be IN GAME. point blank
Not knowing the law is not an excuse for something you did
You are not forced to come to the forums for the patch notes you have 5 total ways to check the updates like Official Website / Twitter / Forum (just check the patch notes and go back to playing) / Steam / Discord (there is the official lost ark discord that you can join and check). I personally check it from steam while the game is opening or while it updates.
