Oh yeah, before artist came out, there was already an excess of support for lower content, so given time they would reach Brel. (during that time, it was 30 mins to an hour waiting for a support for Brel, but Valtan/Vykas Hard lobbies usually already have supports in the party - I never checked clown)

Highly doubt it, on the contrary the number of players has gone up. It’s really because of the structure of the game, it’s 2 supports for 1 pt of 8 players. If you have a LOT of support, you don’t have enough pts. It’s simple.
And it was to be expected, a lazy culture was created “support only needs 3-4 engravings” “support is gold free”, hence the opportunity for players to create this “gold free”, they created, which generated this problem.
There’s not that many busses if you think about it. The amount of content/raids players has to do on their 6 gold earners outweighs the alts they can buss. It takes a lot of time out of your schedules and plus bussing takes a lot of time to get everyone situated. Also a high chance of not succeeding first attempt, meaning no gold, free buss.
The current dps shortage is only temporary and expected to go away once the express event end. People will likely drop their new support alts when they no longer have engraving support and need to gear the alt.
The game overall still have more dps than supports, especially in end game content. Dps shortage is not an actual issue. Although competent dps shortage is very much a thing.
Bussing is a whole different debate. It contributes to inflation (by generating extra gold), lower overall game knowledge (too many people get bussed/carried and then think they can do the content on their own, only to jail others), and make it more difficult to find proper raid lobbies (some raids are flooded with bus lobbies, especially after new class release).
Don’t know about the number of players, but there was definitely a drop of players from when Vykas hard was the highest content to after Brel came out (I started to randomly see the same players I know in islands, guardian raids, etc…, and now it’s a semi-common occurence in NAW at least). Actual active population (assuming 4 alts) based on the clear stats Amazon provided should be within the 15k-20k range total with little error, rest are bots xD Fortunately still reasonably healthy.

Assumption much? I said busses contribute to the problem, I never said everyone who buy bus lack game knowledge. No need to be so defensive about something that wasn’t intended to be targeted at you.

It’s the same. People want to try out new classes. The next patch of release class are all DPS and if anything, there will be a shortage of support again.
The population right now is fixed. There are no new players coming in. So we will have a % of population going to make the new class regardless if it is support/dps to generate some quick gold (engraving, tripod, etc.) then they will drop that and go back to their main. Some will stay with the new class. I reckon a lot of people will stay with the new DPS.

Its just triggering to see “bus” and “lower / no gameknowledge” because it usually ends up putting all the people into the same group - which obviously isn’t the case. Though I cant deny that theres alot of unexpierenced people taking busses and don’t bother to learn the mechs

There were lack of support players who were willing to join lobbies full of shit geared dps players who do negative dmg and most likely jail others.

there was never a real of lack of dps, it’s more likely lack of carry dps. Most groups want overgeared dps to join. As a result, on ilvl dps are obliged somewhat to buy busses & not spend 10 hours in jail or lf group. So it’s a community issue.

It takes time to find party not speaking about gatekeeping others or if you need to change some player midraid because they are bad. Most of the players dont want to stay in the party finder for 30-60 minute.
They want finish their weekly homework and thats it. They dont want to play especially if you need to wait for 30 minute.
They didnt start the game for playing it, they just want to see that others doing the raid instead of them so they can just watch and chill.
