Does anyone know if my progression is already stuck?

Hello everyone,

I’ve enjoyed my progression up to the end of Rohendel pretty much, gathering a lot of tier 1 materials in order to upgrade my gear up to ilevel 600. My bag was literally full of T1 materials, ready to be used to honing my pieces (arond 7K materials both Guardian / Destruction / Leap stones).

Unfortunately, I’ve encountered a lot (sometimes 5 times streak on a single piece) of honing failed attempts, and as a consequence, I’ve lost thousands of materials in the process during my way to gear up from gear level 13 to 14…

Considering that I’ve done pretty much all the i250 islands (the ones that give T1 materials as rewards), what are my other options to farm the required T1 materials to continue to honing my gear in order to reach the i600 cap and continue the story ?

I know there are the daily chaos dungeons and guardian raids, but considering the few amount of T1 materials they give after completion, how much weeks I’ll have to farm in order to start another honing session once again (with its numerous failed attempts to expect) ?

I heard it’s going to be even worse in the upper tiers, so I’m really saddened to see my progression already hits a wall in the first tier :frowning:

Did I make a mistake in my ressources management while honing ? Should I have used Star’s breath while honing my pieces to lower the fail ratio ? I heard they weren’t very important in the first tier, so I’m really wondering now…

From my pov it looks like I won’t be able to start another honing session before days/weeks ?

Hard to not give up honestly

Can you share your success/failure achivments?

You should be able to hone daily. Especially with material funneling

there are a LOT of islands and rewards for t1, id google to check that you didn’t miss one or two… but lots of us failed several times getting up it sucks… anywho…

Chaos dungeons, do at least your first two every day… you can use alts to run chaos dungeons, dismantle gear (or sell it, and trade most of the material to your main for extra mats this is why many players have lots of alts…

Guardian raids - run every one on a page (you get a bonus box for doing them at least once, and need them to progress, then do the highest one you can for harvesting souls…

Abyss dungeons Do these as soon as you can, drops purple and orange set gear which just makes you more powerful… if you have already done them, you can sell the crystals for jewelry to dismantle or sell for gold, higher quality jewelry with good rolls that your class uses will still sell well even in tier 1 or tier 2… cause people buy them for their alts…

Tower - if you have an alt, or have any interest in playing one… run the tower on your alt as high as you can get it… (Hopefully you can buy the 460 blues and get your alt to the 460 floor)… Then run as high as you can on your main, the tower will give a large number of catch up materials for the second character that runs it (meant to help alts catch up, but can be used to give mains a boost if done this way)…

Compass - Do the compass dailies as often as you can, especially the Chaos gates and ghost ship… they drop stars breath and maps that you can run for stars breath… you can use these to increase the success chance on your gear upgrades… you can also sell the harmony shards/breaths from the maps if you have extra - they tend to be one of the best sources of gold in T1.

Merchants… your guild merchant, the ship merchant, etc will all sell you upgrade items… You can even use Maris shop if you have the gold, but gold to crystal prices have really spiked in the last couple days, so that may or may not be an option, and depending on the item it might be better to just buy it from the AH…

Finally… For me personally I wouldnt do my weapon combines at 13/14 without 20 stars breaths… and wouldn’t do armor combines at 14 without 20 stars breaths… unless i was swimming in mats, also don’t worry too much about the failures its part of the game… go do rapport or islands or collectables, grab some skill points…or chill… im like 5 days behind some of my guildies from all my T1 and T2 failures its just rng… but in the end im like 5 gearscore behind them atm cause it all comes out in the wash…

Hello and thanks for your reply,

As I said Ive already done most i250 islands, I just rechecked now and I don’t see where I could gather more T1 materials as a reward from these islands.
I didn’t level up any alt character yet because my main takes me a lot of time already, but if it’s that necessary to transfer ressources from the alts to the main character then… well, I might try to consider it, but I wasn’t expecting that being so mandatory in the first tier of the game honestly

I still didn’t do most compass events tho, I’ll try.

I’m also doubtful about how these timed Islands such as the tooki one work : I’ve participated in the Tooki island yesterday and the infos about it displayed T1 materials but at the end I received only some shillings ? is that normal ?

All the weekly exchange vendors for mats are really important.

  1. Sylmael Bloodstone exchange - Requires being in a guild and donating, but you can get Tier 1 mats from here.
  2. Pirate Coins - Exchange pirate coins for Tier 1 mats outside any port.

You should have a power pass, which you can use for a free 50 at 302 ilvl which you can funnel into your main. Guardian Raid mats are tradable, so you can trade over those leapstones to help out there.

Field bosses are helpful for Star’s breath which you should absolutely be using on the later 13-15 hone attempts. (If you have a cube ticket, the cube can provide 50+ Star’s Breath to help)

This is what I did and I’m slowly getting closer to T3. Whether you follow or not is up to you.
I work 10 hours a day and only play at night and weekend. My brother and I progress together and I slightly have more time to play.

Once, I hit T1 wall on my main Bard, Just create Alts and get them into T1 by simply finish East Luterra and its side quests for Class Engraving then use Powerpass. Clear Shade Tower as high as you can on your main, then go do that tower with Alt. Any subsequent clear on tower will result on Honing materials for Alt. You can reach +6 your Alt gear this way. Now leave it there and do daily and funnel Honing mats to your main. Couple days ago I hit T2 wall. I got one of my Alt to 840 and leaving her their for daily. Working on 2nd Alt to T2. I sold all my Star’s Breath and only used the Bound one.

Once, one of your char hit 802 and 1302, you can research Roster helper facility in your Stronghold to ease Honing on your alt for T1 and T2 respectively.

PS: Enhancing in this game can fail but your item never break nor loose progression like many other KR MMO.

A lot of the islands, or events in general, give you a score (platinum, gold, silver, etc) where you get a few guaranteed rewards (destruction/guardian stones… with a chance at better loot (maybe a purple or orange book/card/skill stone/island token/etc… but its rarely guarenteed, there is a LOT of rng in the game.

Total f2p player here done every island, bought every weekly, grinded everything, made 5 alts for free, played daily, never bought anything from shop, never got any mats with gold and on top of that I had a very lucky success rate as well but I am stuck at 1060ilvl I cant even try to upgrade my weapon because doing everything daily for 4 days will grant me ONE SINGLE try only one and it will fail because of a very low success chance. I figured I probably need 1 or 2 alts in tier2 to funnel resources only than I can make it in a week or two meanwhile I cannot log in due to queues and have to waste time on the not working matchmaking. I am actually done trying. I give up. I gave it a good go but if you want to keep going you need to make alts transfer all your materials to your main than you can get out of tier1. Good luck.

I did some of these events/islands and the rewards were really disappointing (sometimes 1 fragment of each and some shillings), compared to what was expected in the announced awards. But I thought I didn’t understand what to do during these events, but it seems to only rely on RNG ? I can get hundred stones a day and 1 another day ?

I think my biggest mistake while trying to up from 560 to 600 has been to not use a single Breath’s stars… I should have waited to gather more of them and try to increase my chances to not fail my honing attempt… Now I’m stuck at 590 since 3 days. This is the most disappointing design aspect of the game for me, I enjoy the rest pretty much

You should be doing every bit of content available to you. Islands yes but also the dailes, your compass once a day events (those give breath which up your chance of honeing), pug aver a rift to do 4 secret maps at once for more matts, funnel matts from your two power passed characters. (you dont even need to level them up just get them doing the tier 1 Daily content and send the items over. Convert your gold into blue crystals and use Mari’s shop. Lots of ways. This game thrives on the daily grind with multiple characters. If thats not for you thats fine but just be aware that this is the case.

Would have helped, but really the basic thrust is that you have to utilize all of the ways to get mats that the game makes available or it will take a long time to get past the latter honings leading up to +15 unless you’re exceptionally lucky.

That means tower/cube/abyssal/guardian on main, daily, all available, exchanges (guild and pirate), and having at least 2 (more if you have time) alts to run T1 content and send you mats. You need all of it in order to get there efficiently. You’ve got be be willing and able to grind content on multiple characters on a daily basis – it’s a grinding intensive game, all the way up.

Without doing all of that, it gets slower unless you’re very lucky.

When people talk about doing the Islands, for materials, it’s not really the “events” it’s the island quests. You usually get lots of materials as rewards for the island gold/purple quests + island token, if you’ve not got the island token you’ve not finished the island yet.

I understand the need to have alts to funnel materials to the main character, but from what I’ve seen about most players already at 1+k ilevel (mostly streamers), a lot of them weren’t even using alts characters, and I’ve been told this mech starts to be really interesting once the main is T2 ?

Maybe I’m wrong tho and I might consider leveling 1 or 2 alt then, but I really thought I should focus on my main character first until he, at least, reach up 800 gearscore… I wasn’t expecting it being that important in the first tier of the game, really

are you using your breath for crafting 13 to 14 and 14 to 15? If you are doing pirate ship, rifts, and pug after rifts with maps you should have enough of these to have at least 20 of them every day which ups the chance from 40 to 60 on a 14 to 15. Yes it can still fail and yes that means you only get a shot or two each day as F2P but yea thats how the game works. What are you going to complain about in tier 3 when it takes a week to save up the matts and your chance is 2% ? Enjoy the grind, dont kill yourself on it. Play for a few hours a day after work or something then just stop you dont have to speed run to the end or Pay to Rush after all. Heck if you wait long enough we might get the Korean patch for tier 3 push which makes all honing 100% chance and gives two levels at a time for t1 and t2

You have a few options to get materials. The ones you know about are the chaos dungeons and guardian raids. You can also get honing materials from secret maps, your weekly items, una’s task which are daily, adventure island. You can also purchase honing materials. Right outside the chaos dungeon is an npc you can exchange perception shards to buy some t1 items. It has a weekly cap. The traders in front of the ports also have t1 items that you can buy with a weekly cap.

You should be t2 within a week depending on how much you take advantage of the different systems based on your time to play etc…

I did all of these i250 islands already that grant lot of mat + tokens, hence why I’m stuck at the moment

PS i’m at about the same point, all T1 is lvl 14, i’m just not sweating it, i still have some islands to do (just been doing them randomly) so just taking my time. I’ve power passed an alt so she’s doing 2x chaos and 2x guardians per day and thats it. So about 30 mins of play. The rest is just my main, doing 3x una, 2x guardian, 2x chaos, 1x chaos gate, 1x island event which takes about 1-2h.

I’ll get to T2 when i get there with luck.

PS quite a few people are saying they expect the boosted rates to come when the rest of T3 gets released so things will get easier to get to T3 pretty quickly.

Stoopz even did a video recommending people don’t worry about lvl up atm and do the horizontal stuff that increases your account wide stuff instead.

Well instead I decided to uninstall the game I am a lot more happy without the constant queue/lag/daily grind fiesta LA offers atm
