Domination and Expertise doesn't work

EDIT : So debuff actually means a stun effect like freeze not the debuff that is applied like +10% damage taken. And it does work perfectly. With that clarification, if any CM sees this thread can you pass the message to the localization team to change “debuff” to “stunned” ?

I just tried this in Trixion’s Training ground with modified combat stats of either 0 or 1800

Crit / Specialization / Swiftness / Endurance
All of these works perfectly, for specialization i’m not really sure since I have only tested this with Gunslinger and it works perfectly for that job.

Expertise
This combat stats straight up doesn’t work. It’s supposed to increase the debuff duration placed on enemy but even with 1800 Expertise ( 60% debuff duration increase ). The debuff duration is still the same, tested this with Rune debuff and Ability Tripod Debuff and none of them works.

Domination
It’s supposed to increase damage done to enemy with pushed/debuff/staggered. If you use this combat stats then you are going to be primarily using it for Increase damage for debuffed enemy. And it doesn’t work

Tested with auto attack that deals 6.000-6.500 damage and when the enemy have burn/crit debuff down/bleed or just any sort of debuff i can place the damage stays the same.

Tested again with Paladin class debuff ( Holy Explosion | Godsent Law ) doesn’t work

Also since i’m here anyway this ability tripod that is present in many classes [ On hit. foe crit resistance to attacks by all party member -10% for 8.0s ] need to be reworded. It can either means Buff crit damage OR Buff crit rate. Thankfully I tested this and it actually means buffing your crit rate.

Even if these two stats did work, it doesnt seem like any build for any class actually uses them. They should just be reworked into one stat that gets put on armor.

The discussion regarding whether Expertise and Domination is a viable combat stats is another topic. The thing is, is that they just plainly doesn’t work.

Domination actually have a pretty good buff. If you put in 800 in it you are already getting 50% damage to debuffed enemies and it’s really not hard to have an enemy getting a 100% debuff uptime since every dps class have their own debuff tripod + support debuff.

And in T3 I remember there’s a set of armor that gives you 350 domination as a buff and if you are investing 800 into domination you are getting a total +70% damage buff to debuffed enemies.

Now again i’m not here to argue which one is better +30% crit rate or +50% damage buff, but the problem here is that the latter straight up doesn’t work ,for unsuspecting people they just lose 50% of their damage.

True. If the skills straight up just dont work then that is a pretty glaring issue.

dude those are pvp stats, are u gonna use it on random mobs that you can CC when you actually one shot it with 1 skill ? It doesnt work on boss cause you cant cc it. Now, are u gonna use domination only when you put down a boss for few seconds ? Its completly useless. Those are pvp stats but since nothing beat swiftness in pvp, they are not really usefull anywhere. But who knows, maybe some classes will be able to use it in futur.

Domination :
Damage to Pushed or Debuffed foes + x %
Damage to Dealt to Staggered foes + x %

Now question for you, can you apply debuff on boss?

yes you can but kind of debuff are they talkin about there, nothing accurate to say. If you apply weakness for example with ur deathblade, if you dont see any damage difference, that means, its not the kind of debuff that works with domination

Tested this again on Paladin debuff

The +10% damage taken for 12s that is applied by Godsent Law and Holy Explosion doesn’t work with domination.

So right now we have so far 3 types of debuff

  1. Rune debuff ( doesn’t work )
  2. Tripod debuff ( doesn’t work )
  3. Paladin debuff ( doesn’t work )

Might need some help if someone here have a bard class to test the debuff +% damage that might work?

domination 100% works

i belive when domination says “debuff” it specifically is referring to level 3 cc’s such as freeze or electrocute.
likely could be a difficulty with it’s translation but i believe that’s what they mean when they say debuff and they don’t mean literally any debuff.

correct

debuff in LA = tier 3 CC (stun, freeze, electrocute), not “debuff effects” like burning etc
% to pushed foes = knocked up or knocked down
% to staggered foes - self explanatory but it generally sucks

bosses can’t be pushed or debuffed so domination will not work, which is why domination is only good in chaos dungeons/normal mob zones and pvp because you can knock those down then do combos

ye which is why awakening skills which have debuff immunity will allow you to super armor through anything

which also makes domination mostly useless in pve as most things that don’t die in 1 hit are going to be immune to the level 3 cc’s so you won’t get the damage bonus.
but it’s a great stat in pvp where those cc’s are used and getting that damage bonus is very noticeable.

no

domination is great for pve actually depends on class and build - on deathblade you can run swiftness/domination to wipe normal mobs faster if you play surge, since spec on surge is mostly useful for the identity which overkills mobs hp anyways. chaos dungeons/cube/tower= swift/dom

dom is good for pushed damage anyways not debuff

guardians/bosses/single target = main spec which would be spec/crit

ye i meant moreso in the boss fight scenarios, it can be useful in chaos dungeons (tho i’d prefer just slotting in preemptive).
but yeah you’re right.

Ahh i see, so it’s just that the tooltip is a bit misleading? I’ll mark this as a solution thank you for the clarification

yep, it’s more like that it’s a korean translation so is a bit more confusing.
not the first game i’ve played that was talking about cc’s when it said debuffs though so only reason i really thought about it so i totally get any confusions about it and there isn’t really anywhere in game that does explain this very well.
but ye no problem

yeah it’s kinda stupid to name debuffs as stuns, but that’s the way it is, really confusing

if you actually want to test domination, test it on a normal mob in trixion…use knockdowns or stuns and see the diff

well people answered, obviously it was another kind of debuff, but anyways, its not pve stats at all, just dont try anything with it and build ur characters correctly with crit/spe/swiftness and endurance for some classes

you should change ur title btw
