Dps meter start to be a problem on LOA

The Dps meter is a good tool for tryhard players or Hellmode enjoyer, it allows you to question your own build and improve.
Being a Monster Hunter fan, it’s a pretty common tool and very positive if you use it with the right mentality.

But since the release of Brel HM, I see a lot of it (especially in g5-6), and it creates a lot of toxicity.

The people I’ve seen using them have a very simple mentality, if they are first in damage, they post it and insult the other raid members. If they are not in the top tier, they just hide from themselves and don’t say anything.
I’ve come to the conclusion that on LOA the community is way too immature to use these tools properly. They are just a good way for them to compensate for irl complexes and to insult strangers.

As Easy anti-cheat doesn’t detect anything and these tools are becoming more and more common, will there be future advances in this area? @Roxx

Something else than the usual bs “blah blah it’s not allowed, against tos, bannable, Smilegate does not want dps meter, has been states many times”

It doesn’t answer my question, and maybe I’m stupid to hope, but I hope for something more concrete.

Or just point out that the problem is getting worse.

Either way, doing nothing and saying nothing can’t help.

So report them, posting here does pretty much nothing.

They already said its not allowed and bannable. Will people be banned? Honestly probably not unless they are streaming.

They are in KR. They don’t post banned accounts here though so you don’t really know.

My solution is the official advocated one, you will get nothing done here. If they get enough reports in-game they might get banned though.

Not arguing, just telling you how it works.

Hey that was close! Except that I was the raid leader, I kicked the one with the Dps meter, and after that me and my buddies (we were 4 premades) cleared that g6 in two tries. That’s the irony

I just wish there was some action against it, because it just makes the players toxic for nothing.
But I’m sure you already know that because you read the post you are commenting on? Didn’t you?

Well my comment wasnt hinting about you or anything. I was saying that there was so many people asking for DPS meter to be implemented while so many people including me are against it because it will introduce more toxicity into the game and it would be funny that if we for some reason get it and those people asking for DPS meter are the one ended up doing less dmg and then get kicked from the room for doing low dps despite crying for DPS meter and then they gonna complain about DPS meter being toxic

Can you imagine thinking dps meters could actually provide a meaningful evaluation through a single run in a game like lost ark? I can imagine actually since LA has the worst community filled with noobs thinking they are pro gamers.

If you want to make bold claims such as someone’s dps sucks you need at least results of average of 10 runs.

A streak of bad RNG could easily put you at the bottom of the parse. You cannot guarentee that the current worst DPS cannot be the best of the next pull.

Boss could persistently keep aggroing a certain individual therefore throwing his shit exclusively on him, crippling his uptime whereas other just need small movements to keep attacking.

What’s with g5 dps meters? If slow spec classes get octa/star they are crippled without any chance of recovery. Dude who stays outside will have lower DPS. Someone has to do the mechs right?

Why would anyone focus solely on actually clearing the raid if there is a possibility that some ape could start pointing fingers with his ToS breaking tool?

If I smell a DPS meter user I make sure I ruin that run for everyone else. And I also make sure they can’t talk shit because I stay the top dps.

Boss stuck right on the edge and needs repositioning? Well tough luck for back attackers I’ll be keeping that boss there and keep attacking.

Oh you got petrified and need someone to unjail you? Tough luck bro just man it up not gonna waste my uptime on you.

I got octa/star on g5, and some ape with circle/rectangle start collecting on first shapes? Instant restart and heavy flaming until the squad disbands.

Need to hold DPS? I’ll keep attacking literally through last bar. Hope you won’t be the unlucky guy who attack right after me and trigger the mech.

Counters? Incoming possible stagger check? Well I ain’t gonna save any of my skills and cripple my uptime. I hope someone is there to complete the check!

Oh that small ad needs killing? You go ahead then kill it bro. Need to dodge the second tornado to destroy the orb? Thanks for taking care of it!

Then I make sure to submit a ticket of those dps meter users, I really hope tickets accumulate on them and they just get a manual ban.

This happened to me yesterday. We cleared G5, the guy said replace the sorc he did 8.9% but he never realized that I got star twice ( less uptime) and I was outside on p2(doing 0 damage), also you gotta stop dps om LC.I reported the guy but I know nothing will be done because you can’t detect it and AGS won invest a dime on policing and reviewing reported users.

At the end of the day I will find another party and this guy will keep kicking people and probably one day his small brain realize that this fight is not a dps race.

DPS meter seems to be required for G5-6 now. We enraged G5 Brel with my group today and I was told I was doing good DPS but that means some were not doing good DPS for whatever reasons (e.g. maybe stuck outside, maybe had star shapes mostly, etc.).

We would have cleared if the raid gave us an additional 30 seconds. The G5-6 Brel gates are such toxic trash I hope we get a nerf.

You make me think about a conversation I and other viewers had earlier in the night with Fasfas (a main Scrapper KR friend of ATK) on the Laufie stream :

He explained to us that the players in Korea are going to make g1-2 in 8-10min. And then leave with their golds.
Then he told me: “Why go to g3-g6 and spend 70 min more to win the same thing?”

They won’t nerf Brel, the design suits them, we’ll just stop doing this raid once we get the x10 achiev pet. Like the Koreans before us.

As a monster hunter fan i love the idea of dps metter and i was using it in monster hunter games all the time.

I would personally love to see such thing implemented in lost ark as a feature but to avoid toxicity during the raid it could display dps done by each player at the end of the raid(to avoid getting players kicked after 1 pull cuz they deal no dmg) if the raid is done no harm can be done anymore nad you could actually see how well did you perform and if you need to improve.

It’s players not dps meter being a problem. If you can’t handle being criticized either play static only, or improve to not get kicked for low dps.
Simple as that.

i have seen people using it on g5-g6 hm brel and some dps were doing 2-3% of the dmg honestly its good that they get called out whether you think its toxic or not because they there to waste peoples time and nothing more
