I’ve been grinding Inferno Valtan since it was released to NAW. I didn’t think this was an issue until I had someone in my party with a DPS meter who brought up the “under performers” of our group, which then disbanded due to the ensuing conflict. I’ve since then started watching several dozen streams/videos/etc. of players who have actually cleared this content and I’m amazed at how many parties do use DPS meters… You can CLEARLY hear them talk about how much DPS each person is doing so their group can improve.
Now lets be clear - these players are at the upper limits in terms of progression, investment in the game, and you could say have a sizeable amount of skill, but I’m confused here… is this a recognized issue or not? I am not out to get anyone banned but it makes me question how many Demons Roar titles are legit at this point (and haven’t had such an aid).
So really my questions are:
Are we allowed to associate with DPS Meter users (cheaters essentially) to clear this content?
If they aren’t banned for it, why isn’t it available to everyone?
I don’t expect a CM response but it would be good to convey that this anticheat is virtually nothing.
Basically, from what I can see, dps meters are not allowed. You might not get banned for it, but if you do, you better not complain.
That said… if dps meters can help players improve… they clearly inting on purpose… Purposefully doing less damage until dps meter shows that they doing poorly before putting effort(?) to try and get better. There’s nothing stopping you from getting better even without looking at a dps meter. If a player is limited by skill level or other things, no number of dps meters will help them improve.
That aside, even in inferno Valtan, lack of dps is rarely a problem if everyone stays alive and dps when they can.
You assume they don’t share this information with the group. If you could see that someone was under performing you could just replace until said title was achieved. Though even in a static this could still be used as real time feedback to improve the damage of players.
The SGR people have made clear they don’t want people to use dps meters.
If someone in that party is being vocal about it and becoming a nuisance, I’d advice to just report said person as they are using an already forbidden tool to provoke toxicity.
Now, you must keep in mind a good chunk of people doing those raids are pretty elitist and usually you are aware of such requirements before the start. If your performance is subpar and they let you know, hopefully in a human way and not a neanderthal, gotta take the L and look up for upgrades or better optimization of your playstyle.
Or if they are using a dps meter to simply notify of damage or some weird self-growth that must only be achievable with it, let them be. Since it doesn’t makes any impact at all.
Gotta remember it is a bannable offense by principle and they should be aware a ban can fall on them anytime.
Report players like this. The official response to Meters is that they are a tos violation. Any application that gives you more info than you would otherwise have access to while playing the game is not permitted.
Uh, inferno/hell is balanced. No matter what you do. So, if said particular DPS class doesn’t do enough, it’s not the class. It’s the player that doesn’t know WHEN to DPS.
Good examples are the majority of strikers here. They go HAM once they get a sniff of the boss’s ass without actually evaluating “if I do all these, what’s gonna cost me?”
I suggest maybe running trials with one and other, find proper static, communicate and stick for the long run is your best option than obtaining an illegal tool that may or may not justify as bannable in Na/eu
under performers are replaced with or without meters. nobody is entitled to a spot in a group xD. Im not for or against meters I don’t have a horse in this race, just saying that’s a bad mindset that’ll stifle improvement haha
thats a pretty firm stance to take with no official word other than they have no plans to make one in game themselves from a translated interview, but maybe i missed something? haha
yes that was what I thought you meant, he was asked if they had any plans to implement there own and he replied there were no current plans from the translation i saw. how do you get from there to what you are presenting it as? you have any evidence of an official stance on this or any evidence of this ever being enforced with bans anywhere?
In his final translated interview his stance was “We want to put our final thoughts on this matter here, while I see that there are some pros for adding a DPS meter to lost ark there are also many cons and we feel that the cons outweigh the pros overall. As a result of this we are not planning on ever adding a DPS meter into Lost Ark. Additionally to this anyone who is caught designing or using a 3rd party DPS meter will be permanently banned and the decision on this stance is final.”
