Easy Anti-Cheat Crashes Repeatedly

Windows Stop Code Blue Screen triggered within the first few minutes after launch. This occurs every time I run the game:
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Reason: EasyAntiCheat.sys

This problem began at mid-day on Thursday, December 2, 2022 and has not resolved.
Gameplay prior to this was relatively smooth.

The following troubleshooting steps have been accomplished multiple times without success:

  • Restarting the game
  • Restarting the computer
  • Verifying integrity of Lost Ark game files
  • Setting EAC, Steam, and LA as Admin both prior to and during launch
  • Repairing Easy Anti-Cheat
  • Re-installing Easy Anti-Cheat
  • Disabling overlays
  • Uninstalling and re-installing Lost Ark
  • Uninstalling and re-installing Steam
  • Updating my graphics drivers
  • Disabling the firewall
  • Disabling the Anti-Virus software
  • Updating Windows 10
  • Re-installing Windows 10
  • No VPN software installed
  • Deselected EasyAntiCheat in msconfig>Services
  • Zero non-essential programs running on Startup (this boot is already as clean as possible)
  • Set Easy Anti-Cheat priority to Low in Task Manager>Details

The final note is that I have installed Steam and Lost Ark on a small Windows 11 laptop and have never encountered this problem on that computer. Is Easy Anti-Cheat no longer compatible with Windows 10?

Please advise

For your sanity stop playing take a brake or whatever until the fix the servers. At least that’s what I’m doing right now… The game is a shitshow rn. It doesn’t deserve your time.

Already there to be sure.

Just wanted to throw this up in case it might yield a solution that would help other users because I know it’s a common problem.

Thanks

Unfortunately I don’t think any1 has a solid/valid solution. I’ve tried everything too… Even ags haven’t said anything about any fixes yet. They just said they are trying to find a solution.
I guess that’s rng too either you can play or you cannot.

Agreed.

Good thing I’m FTP; really nothing lost other than time playing a game I enjoy.

Do you run any overclocks on your main PC?

The issue that some are facing is that a CPU core is being pushed to 100% constantly, causing increased temperatures along with it. Example below.

Given that you are getting a BSOD error, this high usage could be causing your OC to be unstable.

I don’t use overclock, it’s been about 3 days +/- that I’m having this problem with Lost Ark, I uninstalled and installed it yesterday but the same problem continued.

I’ve never overclocked.
All Task Manager stats are always very low.
It’s like somebody flipped a switch three days ago and EAC just started crashing my game.

I’ve since switched to playing on a Windows 11 laptop; having zero problems with EAC.
Would very much like to go back to my main Windows 10 PC, though (no, I cannot upgrade it to Windows 11).

Ditto.
It’s like somebody flipped a switch three days ago.

it is not being closed and minutes after opening the cpu temperature rises from 67 degrees to 95 and is fixed at 95
