I think there is no way to permanently and efficiently counter bots.
You must counter people who buy gold. If people are afraid of buying gold because they WILL be perma banned, the target audience for the gold sellers shrinks, it stops being that lucrative, and bots mostly disappear.
Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to ban people who have bought gold so far because that wasn’t the policy, but they should permaban going forwards, make lots of announcements so no one can claim they didn’t know.
Hell, maybe add an in-game popup when someone sends them lots of money talking about the policy and for the player not to take the money if they’re paying for it, otherwise they WILL be permabanned. No exceptions.
It’s very easy to track all gold transactions and detect those that are suspicious, such as repeated transactions sending gold to the same person from one or multiple accounts or sending large amounts of money.
From there, an algorithm could detect if the paying account is a gold seller, and if it is, the receiving account gets a permaban notice. They can’t do anything unless they submit proof the gold wasn’t bought (such as messages from the player who sent the money + internal scrutiny from the staff), and if they don’t prove the gold wasn’t bought within 7 days, they’re permabanned
One part is the bots, another is the people who buy it, put first a not loggin 3 days warning or some, to those people who buy it and they will stop or reduce it a little
Can you please at least add in a 2fa until a permanent solution is found, it will help throttling them even though i may not stop them.
it just amazes me that ppl will buy from dangerous bots when in the shop we has a currency exchange thats legit in a few clicks that wont jeopardize their bank accounts

just make it require steam guard to use i hate 2fa because i wont get the code via text thru my phone no matter how many times i call my phone company about it . Because then it would make things like this inaccessible for myself and others who suffer from codes not being sent thru text on our phones . ( its a really annoying thing to deal with ) .
nah just perma ban them if they buying gold illegally thru bots they wont care about a popup nor the policy .
Also why bother adding a ingame pop up it should b common sense to report the sender and not touch the gold being sent . Why would ppl need a reminder for that ?
Because it serves as a warning. Decreases chance of people complaining and increasing support and forum management load.

People might think they can “get away with it” tbh, they most certainly didn’t read the full policies because, let’s be honest, who does? While not reading policies doesn’t exempt you from being punished for breaking them, it surely can create unnecessary headache.
An ingame pop-up is a sure fire way of telling people “We know what you’re trying to do and we’ll ban you for it. Are you sure?”

Hard for someone not to read a popup with a big bulky title saying “You may get banned” with a big red “banned”
Not saying they won’t confirm anyways - certainly not everyone will be intimidated - but many people will.
“Will I be banned for buying gold in X” is an incredibly common search.
Besides, it’s a low cost change anyways.
You cant do that because there are many instances in which you might transfer gold to another player with zero tangibly seen in a trade window.
Map selling spots are a perfect example of this.
So are people using either personal trade or AH for clear services.
The best way to stop this or at least drastically hinder it is to put a huge barrier to using area chat. Either a roster level requirement or a gear score requirement.

Last night, it suddenly jumped to 1k from 900, I see that there are people who want to buy 150k - 200k crystals all the time, I don’t think any of them are regular players… I come from work and play games, the absence of regional pricing is beyond awful. We are being punished in every way.
It’s a good suggestion too.
But it might lock casual players from trading for too long, which makes it hard for people help their friends who are new to the game. Usually any measures targeted at bots also hurt new players.
The instances where you might transfer gold directly without a return are not that numerous, and there’s the algorithm for checking if the account sending gold is a player or a bot. Such as game progression, gear, amount of hours played per day, time in days between creating the account and sending gold, movement patterns, kind of content played, achievements, age of account, etc

You are highly exaggerating. Also a T3 player here who have not spent a cent since the founder pack. Although it is true that I grinded the living heck out of the game since launch due to being funemployed for the whole month of February.
But all my friends from other MMOs are on par if not higher, because surprise, they are actually good experienced MMO players. Some of them have Lost Ark experience from RU/KR that helped, but it really is not surprising to be T3 if you have any decent MMO background.

Also, just thought here while re-reading my reply: this can be bypassed by the sale method being the buyer posting an item on the auction house for an absurd amount of gold, and the seller “buying” it
There’s the posting fee, but if the client doesn’t have it, they could do the operation in batches
Of course, you could also block new players from buying things in the auction house, but that is absurd and clearly hurts a lot the early experience.
What really pissed me off is that they have blink, teleport, run with mount speed and can wake through obstacle. Show serious bad coding.
Last I have to load a 2 min anti cheat that clearly doesnt nothing 
People wouldn’t buy gold from them if they would automate the exchange rates with in-game currency at decent exchange rates and allow people to sell crystals for that amount rather than use 3rd parties…
