Like many other players I’m getting the 10010 error code when entering the game, however I’ve never used a VPN or any other third party service for that matter. I’ve logged over 700 hours on the game, and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on cosmetics, so I’d like to think I’m not a bot. Beep Boop Bop.
The only thing I can think of that would cause this is that I’m currently in a student dormitory and that the ISP’s configuration is being blocked by your new security measures? I’m not proficient in how it works, but all students have seperate connections for their room, yet I’m led to believe the IP would be the same/similar for all our connections. I did notice that the IP I got back after checking is located where my ISP is located, not where I’m living. (Maybe that’s normal, I don’t know, but it’s 2 hours away) So is it possible that my ISP is using a configuration that’s being detected as a VPN for our connection? Or that we just have a lot of connections from the same IP? As I said I’m not proficient in how it works, but I’d love to hear feedback.
And most importantly, is there anything I can do? I’ve already tried all the possible fixes the development team has listed in other threads, I thoroughly attempted to research and fix the issue before posting.
I realise this is all necessary in an attempt to make the game better, so while I’m frustrated that I likely will be missing out on the entire weekend I’m just hopeful it can be resolved at all, it would be extremely upsetting if I can’t play anymore.
I don’t know if it matters, but I play on EU Central.
Amazon once again trying to kill another game after failing big time with New World, Using “VPN is against our ToS” as an excuse is just a joke. How hard is it to go after the bots and ban them? Incompetent as usual. Either they go back and remove that VPN block or they are losing thousands of players.
My wife and I are having the same issue. We don’t and have never used the VPN and are located in a country that falls in the SEA/OCE region. We never had issues connecting to the game prior to the last minute VPN Block that went live on Friday.
Now we always get 10010 while on our home internet. No active VPN. I’ve spoke with my ISP as well and they are adamant that they don’t use any type of VPN on their routing.
We play on NA West.
Using our local cell phone as a hotspot allows us to connect without issue. Well save for a 300ms ping. The local cell uses the same country IP range as our home ISP.
It would appear the people who made the patch are the only ones who can remedy the issue, and it would seem those same people left for the weekend directly after pushing the patch.
I’m trying to keep the criticism to a minimum so it seems we just got the short end of the stick and will have to wait until they can push a new patch next week.
At least we’re more than a few people with this issue, I feel confident that they’ve been made aware of it by now.
I’m hopeful since the patch wasn’t exactly a great success, it took the bot forums they’re trying to stop a grand total of 180 minutes to completely avoid this new restriction.
The only people they’ve hurt are random players who aren’t using a VPN, and a massive fanbase who use VPN to stabilize connections and avoid internal errors in the game.
The first group is made up of innocent players and the second is a massive revenue loss for the game, either way I find it hard to believe they’re going to keep these restrictions in place when it’s hurting their customers, not their adversaries.
I believe they stated these changes were meant to protect us.
I never used vpn and now I can’t enter the game, I didn’t want to leave but amazon kicked me out I guess it’s goodbye, what talent does amazon have to destroy everything it touches xd
