I wonder what will happen if we get brehlshaza and start to drop esther stones for the infamous esther weapon (pure whale weapon).
Those stones went for 2 mil gold per stone in korea and russia got them recently and they are still 3 mil gold.
Except rmt players and whales noone will buy those ever (korea still values them at 700k) but will we not be able to sell them just because we have to fear how that person got the stone? Dropping this stone will be like winning the lottery for individuals but will be able to sell them without fearing of getting banned?
Roxx mentioned that we have to be carefull on who we should sell stuff to/from whom we accept gold but how will this look in the future? Will we have to undersell it just to not fear the person we are selling to bought gold via rmt?
I know this is so far ahead in the future but imho still an important question to ask and get the stance on AGS from.
A player shouldnt have to think how someone made his money, thats the job of AGS.
Roxx’s comment about being careful who to sell to was based on busses. The AH is free market for anyone to buy there is no control there other than the seller’s price. RMT through auction house is obvious, people buying random ability stones for several hundred thousand or trash stat accessories for also obscene price.
Regardless of RMT or currency exchange player, if someone decides to buy the easther stone it’s gonna get bought. Not the seller’s problem it’s like you said
It will probably fall under the same lines as my level 10 gem situation.
Hopefully the system is improved by then to have a way to determine market value of stuff. It will def throw up flags but it should honestly go to the buyer to be punished more than the seller.
To me the system seemed to work backwards as it traced the gold to the person who sold the item, not the one buying it. this is a good way to find rmt buyers but doesnt do anything to the sellers. however there needs to be logic in the system to determine rmt and market value of items. not just flag randomly high transactions.
Nah, of course not. This “automatic ban” of big transactions will be reworked soon enough, now that we are aware of it and it could cause a bad rep.
Seems like some community moderators already flagged it as a “”““bug””“” and its being forwarded to devs.
In the end of the day they simply cannot ban you from the simple act of making a sale, but for some reason someone really out of touch had a lapse in judgement and thought this was a reasonable idea.
On a side note, i can 100% assure you that they never did and never will “investigate” and ban people who recieve botted gold through transactions, when banning the bot itself or whoever paid. One, cause thats not feasible, requires way more manpower than they are actually willing to invest. for the vast majority of games its not even worth the effort. And two, you can always argue you had no way of knowing.
the issue i see with selling esther stones is, if you drop it you most of us wont be able to sell it via auction house and will go through p2p.
Imagine this, you drop a stone worth 2-3 mil gold. If we say its 2 mil “Only” that will cost you 100k just in listing fee. If you dont have that you cant sell it on AH.
From what i know in RU and KR people sell it directly to players on their server via direct trading.
Chances are low that i will ever drop nor sell such a stone but you never know jsut dont wanna get banned in case i win the lottery.
