I’m genuinely wondering at this point with the talk of new “regions” in the EU if they should add language specific regions. EN, FR, GER and ESP and just be done with it, 4 regions choose a language. If they said ok next we we’re relaunching fresh then i’d be happy to start again on a EN language region server. WHat have I lost? A few days play? My lvl 50 gear score 320 sorc would take no time to get back to where they are today.
The problem is if it takes weeks to implement it gives people less and less incentive to reroll.
Why can’t a tab be added into the chat for the different languages? Just have a DE, EN, FR, ES tab. Then we can talk in whatever language we like to whoever
It doesn’t mean you will get forced into these servers because you are from the said country. But it will weed out the people who refuse to communicate in english on servers which by nature should have english as their default global language.
And its a huge issue in a lot of servers especially where the non-english speakers are in a majority, some people straight up get bullied for talking in english on some servers by the people who “claimed” the server for x,y language.
That wouldn’t work, you can’t give regions to every separate language however they could give another region with language tagged servers but only if they provide a free transfer with all the progression.
No one will go to a new region if they loose all of their items especially not the 4-500k founder who played since day 1.
And also a lot of people are just fed up because they lived a nomad life and went from one server to another until they finally found one where they can play with their friends with “only” 3k in queue instead of 20k.
There is not much to discuss about language servers, deadline for this was before launch, as designating any server to a particular language right now would cause a toxic mayhem as people joined every server as international (aka no one can actually “claim” servers, that is just a note for their communities where they plan to gather)
If this whole thing ends up being a feature, server transfer would need to be a MUST, otherwise it would be pure chaos and people being left up behind on servers that speak other language.
This is one of the many mistakes made by AGS. They simply do not understand the world outside of US. Otherwise they would have noticed that the potential playerbase in the EU is bigger than the US one, they would have openend servers accordingly (and server regions if needed).
They do not understand that this huge playerbase is divided in many different countries with as man different languages and therefor people that want to play in their own language (oopsie not all are able to speak english or not all want to read turkish (no racism just an EXAMPLE!!!) in general when they only can read/speak french or german or whatnot)
Therefor it should have been a nobrainer to offer servers with a set language…
oh and maintenance windows during peak times - well interesting choice aswell (and it even more shows that they do not really understand the concep of different continents)
But hey what do i know - i am just an old grumpy fart looking at 10k queues every night with no game to play as once the queue reaches ZERO i need to go to bed.
All in all it makes me sad, as the product is pretty good. Just the handling all aorund said product is really really poor.
I am tempted to use that qoute of a “small indie company…” but i dont think it would help much
See you in a month when many people gave up on this and the servers are more empty again.
This post was made 20 days ago. And we still didn’t receive any news about your team’s decision.
Why does it take 20 days to discuss a simple thing like that? You can just add a tag before the server names like [EN], [DE], [FR], [IT], [ES], etc.
Geography. If you want to play on servers based in Asia and for example lets say you live in France or Germany then expect rotten latency due to distance between you and the server. Also, my Korean/Japanese/Thai/Russian etc., language skills are virtually nil. Its nothing at all to do with racism.
Yes she has not anwsered here in this thread directly.
But there is a official news to that: Regarding Language-Preferred Servers
and somewhere in the forums was given a little reason for that decision from AGS.
Lets say you have a server marked as [FR] and another as [ES], but both are in the same region, so players from both servers play together in matchmaking. Which language tag is now the correct one?
This topic is not about having issue with MM, after all if you want to clear the boss will have to find a way to communicate. This is more about general world chats
and heres the perfect example for stupid racism, good job guy, hope u get a ban. And yes, id rather have language flagged server instead of reading that bs every fkn day in the chat
well in later stages of the game you will find that MM is a terrible thing. I already had terrible experience with T1 guardian groups from matchmaking, people dont know the hell they doing
Hey man thats beside my point i was telling someone what a reason fo the decision from AGS was.
Here is the thread for language tags for the servers in the EU regions, not the thread about ones experiences in the game, with other players in matchmaking.
I understand the reasoning from AGS, that does not mean i agree with that.
Do i think AGS has totaly dropped the ball here?
Yes they did, in my opinion.
In my opinion all here beating a dead horse right now. There are no language tags, and disscussing it here will not make them appear.
Right now AGS fries other fish in their Lost Ark release, so this thing will take longer. but imho it is to late for that.
