Finding a party for almost all content outside of peak reset times is an issue on the EUW servers.
I’ve done several comparisons to EUC vs EUW at peak times (evening 6.30pm CET after reset) for the following content:
Argos P1 party finder groups EUW 8 groups, EUC over 40 groups.
Argos P1 & P2 EUW 5 groups, EUC over 30 groups
-Argos P3 EUW 1 group, EUC over 30
Oreha’s Well hard mode. EUW ± 4 to 7 groups spread across the two dungeons. EUC more than 40+ across the two dungeons
Guardian Raids: EUW only Knight Fox parties and none for Valganos. EUC Valganos, +20
Now let’s take a look at non peak times:
Argos P1 party finder groups EUW 4 groups, EUC 18 groups.
Argos P1 & P2 EUW no groups, EUC over 12 groups
-Argos P3 EUW no groups, EUC over 8
Oreha’s Well hard mode. EUW no groups . EUC more 30 gourps across the two dungeons
Guardian Raids: EUW only Knight Fox parties and no groups for Valganos. EUC Valganos, +10
This is a trend I’ve been following since the last major patch in March. The player base on EUW is getting thinner and thinner by the week. This I’ve also felt when bringing alts up the ranks in lower Tier 1 & 2 content. Just no player base to match make or finding a party takes so long that I give up most of the time and end up going back to my main character.
My sample above is small but I know it’s representative as when I setup parties and discuss this the waiting times, everyone in the groups agree that finding a party is a waiting game.
I’ve brought this topic up already but I would appreciate from Roxx an official statement on how they are going to address this issue. As Roxx mentioned, they are monitoring the situation and I’m of the opinion if they don’t do something soon to solve this issue the entire hardcore player base will quite EUW or move to EUC. I hope that Amazon are not betting on the latter.
My course of action will be to wait for the Glavier (Lance Master to launch next week) and focus on getting her to T3 on EUC servers. I will stop playing my characters on EUW (2xT3 & 1xT2 and 36k gold, 2m silver and a lot of stuff) until there is a clear communication from Amazon on solving this issue for EUW player population.
This issue unfortunately is not going to get better over time. Anyone who joins the game now will start on EUC servers 1) due to server populations, 2) most of the content reviewers/providers are on EUC servers, and 3) due to concerns like mine.
I hope Amazon takes this post serious for the individuals who have put in the work and dedication and in my case also real money into a wonderful game and provide clarity on a solution or at least be honest about the situation. Action needs to be taken ASAP as the gap between EUC and EUW is getting bigger and bigger by the day.
Yes, EUW was a quick solution for a short time to handle the masses of players. In the long run, however, EUW is bad and will gradually die out. In my opinion, they should move all accounts from EUW to EUC at some point and simply disband EUW.
Can only second this. Also the auction house is unusable post 1370 because there are just not enough items to buy. Mostly 1-2 Items with costs above 5k gold where in EUC you have 6-8 pages of the items you need. To be honest, I do not think that anyone really cares about it because the current focus is more on more content more content more content instead of healthy servers.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, i’m in euw with my main parked at 1389, x2 alts t3 (1340- soon 1340) x3 alts t2 ( one almost t3, rest 840).
The main issue for me is the auction house, it’s basically empty, so it’s kinda hard to make a build for your character. I’m here with over 30k gold and nothing to spend them on.
It’s so sad to think about starting over after investing so much time in euw, but i guess we should have seen it coming
This was actually expected the moment EU West was released. While a portion of the EU Central player base did migrate on this new region, another portion quit the game only to come later or quit all-together.
IIRC, there is no way to transfer characters between regions (SG implemented server transfers in Korea only, that are done on weekly maintenance manually) nor can 2 regions be merged, only servers can be merged.
Amazon screwed up both EU Central with that 1 month full of queues, which as time passed got resolved by itself i.e. a portion of the player base simply quit, and EU West too, since it was self-evident that it will become depopulated fast. There is a chance that players might return or new players arrive as new content is being released, but I wouldn’t gamble on that.
The way this game was handled since its release was chaotic to say the least. Aside from performance and quality of life issues, there is also the triple nerf currently affecting T3 content (i.e. nerfed honing, nerfed honing mat sources and nerfed gold sources) and the void created between item level 1340 to 1370, which contributed to a significant percentage of players quitting the game because of the pointless grind.
Regions could totally be merged if they wanted to.
I’m fine with having to change my characters’ names and loosing a week due to server downtime if it means I’ll have a better gaming experience in the long run. But I’m not really optimistic. I’ll enjoy the game the best I can until my region dies out completely.
They’ve never done it before, so I doubt they even have the tools required to merge two regions together.
You basically have to hope that Smilegate and Amazon aren’t going to just ignore the issue and try to work out a solution, and based on how I have seen 0 CM replies about this issue, you guys on EUW might just be screwed.
I was once forced to move to the west in order to play the game, i knew that this situation will happen someday, but i rather quit the game for good rather, than move back to the central, to start again from 0
Names are unique, so if they merge realms players on EUW or EUC would lose their names. Since the amount of available names is pretty much 0 on both worlds, we would see gibberish names everywhere.
They first need to lift the unique character of char names, after that they could merge the realms. That being said, many of us on EUW wanted the more laid back experience, so throwing us into the pool of hardcore gamers on EUC, is not that pleasent either.
Plus, we do have enough players in T1 content, I see that every day. It may just need more time.
No-one will force you to play with the hardcore players, and you’d keep guildies and friends made on EUW.
Relic gear is likely to make the situation worse - apparently it’s even more RNG so getting gear (esepcially for less played classes) may be next to impossible. That will be a big problem when we get into DPS check content.
I managed to get my 3/3/3/1 setup on EUW but it cost me half my soul and several weeks of gold.
EUW needs to merged or we need to be offered transfers to EUC as soon as possible now that connectivity issues seems to be have resolved.
I personally have no issues doing content, but getting the right jewelry is a nightmare.
I really hope Amazon understands they cant just look at population metrics but also have to keep in mind how the auction house works with how loot distribution works in this game and for EUW players its rough right now.
I can find players for Argos P2 and every other activity without an issue, but sometimes it’s just impossible to buy an accessory with 2 specific engravings and the right stats.
Everyday on Moonkeep people complain about the market and they’re right, it’s a problem.
I agree on that. The current problem at least in Moonkeep is not the lack of players for content, but the market. About the content, yesterday i did my 4th alt and play guaradins tier 1, i waited for first 2 around 2-3 minutes.
