For all we should care about is that he was selling a service for 500k, he earned his 500k legit and got banned for it. He should not care where the gold came from, he does not have tools to allow him to see if someone swiped their card or RMTed for that gold. Besides 500k split among 7 people is like 70k each which is far from outrageous price.
If you dropped 100 quality spec/crit igniter 5/grudge 3 necklace and sold it for 450k, do you deserve a ban? Because you know for sure that only RMTers have that kind of gold, right? You definitely deserve a ban for selling it.
he was banned for cheating, for 8 months… lol why are you even pretending like he didn’t do anything wrong
the game is basically over for cheaters like him, doesn’t matter if he’s playing dumb now or not. He engaged in shady things and knew it was shady even if we assumed he just got caught up in RMTing unknowingly. It really doesn’t matter, he was found guilty and banned lol.
Anyways, tons of people aren’t scared to sell high-cost accessories as legit players? will continue to sell them without fear but you…? why are you acting so scared lol? sus af.
he’s not banned from bussing, he’s banned for RMTing. AFAIK, prior to argos even releasing, he had a stack of LV 10 gems, 5-6 alts sitting at 1370, and his main at max ilevel. his reply was, he played the market… riiiight…also he is not willing to show his steam purchases.
amazon/smilegate turned a blind eye, or at most gave him a 3 day vacation. but now apparently their stance has changed that you get more than a 3 day vacation now.
There’s a clear difference between selling a BIS accessory with trade limits in the AH that can be tracked compared to s spammable raid. All these comparisons people try to make are ridiculous lol
If the cops catch you with a gram of crack instead of a trunk full of cocaine, is he gonna be like “np it’s just a itsy bitsy teenie weenie crack” and let you go?
he would of been right in the argos era when people barely had a single 1370 character and a GHL might of cost 100g-700g. but by now people are generating sometimes 20-70k gold a week just off raids and stuff really fucking cheap.
the vast majority of what needs to be bought can be done so with that gold. id know since i honed to 1480 entirely off of it lol
what he said is just an accuse to try and make himself seem less shitty.
the difference is that you can legally make and own gold in lost ark. you cannot legally own cocaine in most countries.
it wasnt just bot gold that bought the leaps at like 100g each, alot of us “normal players” were buying em as a last stone for a tap.
the only thing that was 100% bought with illegal gold are the rediculously expensive accessories people were buying months ago.
argos era was FILLED with bot gold, we are in a much more stable time now. i can buy shit with just my raid gold and it wont actually take a year. thats a big upgrade from back then
We are just chatting, I told you that RMT disgusts me, would legit have 0 reasons to play the game even if I was gifted millions by amazon today. To a sandbox enjoyer like myself, any kind of outside help completely kills the game but unfortunately most players are not like that. I am by no means defending that guy, I didn’t know he existed until this happened, if he is guilty he should stay perma banned. But not for that specific case because he was not directly involved and it’s 50/50 on whether he tried to cheat or not. But because it’s impossible to prove for amazon, he should not be banned for it, what if he truly is innocent? (just entertain the thought)
We all know that stuff like 1200g GHLs was funded directly by RMT gold and we abused it by selling leapstones for outrageous prices. My point was if they allow for that gold to be spread around due to their incompetence, no one should be punished for accepting gold like that. I am again not defending him, but I also don’t believe amazons appeal support because I know how highly incompetent everyone working for that company is, starting from people managing this forums to much more important roles. I can trust them as far as I can throw them if they say that they “carefully looked into his case” like they do with 99.99% of all other bans. You have truly innocent casual people getting perma banned who never had more than 5k in their bags and other random shit like that and never getting any chance to appeal because they blow them off right away. You know what happened when I dismantled my relic piece to re-craft something else and didn’t get my relic materials back? I submitted a ticket, told support that bug happened and that I lost some mats, they started convincing me how system “sOmEtImEs GiVeS oNlY hAlF mAtS bAcK” and closed the chat/ticket when I wouldn’t accept that as an answer because it’s blatant lie made up on the spot.
It’s not about catching everyone who RMT’d. It’s about catching the ones that matter, and where they can prove are guilty.
Trying to imply there should be no laws b/c everyone or too many people did bad things makes no sense.
Even if RMT was rampant during the days of inflated leaps, they would still ban people they could prove were guilty. I doubt it was ever the case, they simply did nothing.
This whole situation is a streamer got banned for rmt then telling people he got banned for bus. Even worse his streamer friends jump in start spreading bs and misleading info about how he got banned even though all of em probably already know why he got banned. And now everyone blame AGS.
Tbh by their logic bus will not exist at all because eventually you will get some rmt gold in your pocket through bussing and end up banned anyway
Not to mention if his bussing is legit or its just a big money laundry?
up until recently, market was around 80-90% of my total weekly gold and l’m sure majority of that came from rmt whales. people just spend too much time on the forums crying about boo hoo market is doomed and its impossible to buy anything!! without doing as much as their time gated content for the week. plus, bots outnumber degenerates like me probably 100:1 and casuals a similar number so while 99.5% is an exaggeration, its probably not far from the truth
l mean just look at how fragile peoples’ egos are. every big name is “f2p btw” “market flipper btw” when in the comfort of their private discords, a lot of them rmt, whale, and bot infinite chaos even to this day
I’ve highlighted the important bit from your post.
It’s very far from 99.5% but there’s no changing any of you supporters of the streamer who cheated minds. If I was AGS I’d be looking into all these people who’s supporting this cheater, since so many of you love to justify taking 500k because; “hurp a durp I can’t possibly know if it’s RMT and I believe the onus to be on AGS to get rid of the money before it ends up in my hands, I have zero responsibilty to avoid RMT”.
You can legally own, buy, and sell a car everywhere.
If you go on the dark web and buy a Mercedes for 20 dollars and then the cop comes to arrest you for possessing a stolen vehicle, you don’t get to say “but I didn’t know”. You knew. Just like you knew that a 900g selling price for a leapstone is stupid as hell.
You can mental gymnastics it all you want.
You just suddenly want to defend it because now you want some special “I didn’t know” exception because you’re going to get banned by your own rule.
What you say makes 0 sense whatsoever in terms of gold. Just like in Real life counterfeit money is in circulation. If you buy something for 10 bucks and they find out that you used counterfeit money most likely nothing will happen to you, because there is no way of telling if you acutally had malicious intent. If you suddenly buy a Tesla in cash and all of that cash is counterfeit money, yeah you’re obv. done for.
Same with Lost Ark. Nobody gives a shit if you buy a leapstone with RMT gold if its only 20g. Especially the seller should not suffer under this since they cannot even check who buys it. If you suddenly get 500k gold from some rando for a bus ofc they are going to investigate this since its such a high amount with acutal impact on the econmy as a single person.
l’m not a fan of alan or his group but l’m not going to deny that RMTs make life easier as a f2p player so as long as someone out there is doing it, l’m benefitting
