I been saying this. The look of the game to new or interested players is just so bad… the game wont have longevity unless it can retain new players. The servers need to be heavily merged so lower tiers are more populated, and less space for bots.
The problem is worst than that. Try leveling as a new player, bots, dead dungeons, click fetch quests, and the worst of all is that the lower lv contents will be mostly dead and inactive forcing them to solo the majority of the game until at least t3.
Yeah, but that’s the tutorial part. The fun part is the part where you know nothing about the game and start playing a new class and following the storyline while exploring the new world and improving your character and getting to know the different things that goes into it. If you speedrun it, it doesn’t take that much time to reach T3 either if you’re in a hurry
The fun part is not the part where you run Feiton 3x5-6 times a day, guardian/chaos 5-6 times every 2 days, log in near even hours only and then do 1-2 days of raids while chewing your fingernails and losing hair over the crystal market currently going up from just a 1,5 times rise in prises up towards 2 times the rise while also lacking gold to hone, get books, relic accessories or to consider engravings. That’s where players don’t have fun anymore and start to burnout
alot might not even get there, unless they have a strong motivation to continue climbing despite all sewage water they have to swim through.
As for the end game contents stuff, yea, it’s boring, brainless, and personally when i used to play, come reset time, it feels awful to go through the dailies on alts. Eventually i did less and less, and quit altogether because i couldn’t keep up with all the gate keepers’ demands.
You’re eagerly awaiting the day where you will need a week to see one accessory you need on the market that gets snatched immediately by someone else.
But it’s ok, let’s hope more and more and more people quit. It’ll definitely make the game better
Oh so you quit the game because you don’t enjoy it. Kinda useless then to go through all that then
I got to the end game and discovered how bland it is. It’s not useless, it’s a lesson. So i can avoid playing these type of game in the future. Never have i played such a stupid game that force players to repeat the same daily contents on multiple alts, or a game built on having alts as the core gameplay.
Low contents, HIGH repetition to make it seems like there is alot to do. Nope, the content is as dry, short, and bland as can be. Such a pathetic way for them to artificially increase login time.
Honestly, can someone tell me how they can drag themself into a loop like this willingly??
Did you really quit the game if you browse said games forums for months seeking validation for your decision.
Kinda seems like you’re letting the game waste your time and you dont even have it installed.
Please do yourself and everyone else a favor and show yourself out.
This.
What’s wrong with reading the forum to see the state of it? All i see here are people claiming to be “dedicated gamer” with social issues whom stayed home on weekends and dont do shit with their life but gaming like it’s a job.
But hey, it’s my entertainment to read what i want, and commenting as i like. Who are you? Go farm on your alts. Did you finished your work for the day already? Got your payout yet? Dont forget to gamble it afterward for actual result.
Lol half your replies are commenting on people being a “kid” or the same thing about the game being grindy repetitive content yet you find coming to the forums every day to say the same thing entertaining?
Are you old enough to know what irony is?
The difference being youre enjoying wasting your time trolling forums of a game you dont play, whilst simultaneously saying everyone here- the same place as you- actually playing the game and enjoying it a “no life kid with social issues”
“Whats wrong with reading the forum to see the state of it”
This is sad.
I guess GW2 isnt keeping up with your entertainment nor are their forums XD
Ags rmting
You never know there’s have been scummy companies in the past that make believe.
E.g. those 200+ Grudge books could very well be Amazon, they would win either way crystal/gold or getting people that bought illegal gold.
Oops I shouldn’t share my views because if it doesn’t meet the nazi German mods views it’s considered “causing dissent” even though you’re sharing real life experience with/from the game that you’re faced with on a daily basis.
The people im talking about quiting, if you go up and ACTUALLY read what I said, are not likely to be the ones selling accessories in the AH, because they have to pass the content to get those accessories in the first place. And they cant. So if you ACTUALLY read what I said, and didn’t just take bits and pieces of it and get your panties all in a bunch, then you would know that your reply to me makes zero sense. Read before reacting. Simple.
Hahahaha nice! That guy is a clown for real. He quit the game because he got sick of being floor POV and being kicked from raid groups for sucking, and now he’s in the forums trying to make people as miserable as he is.
Lord not only is the game going downhill fast just look at this thread! Garbage game gets garbage forum posts as well I guess. Oh and there are bots everywhere as anyone can see now.
I feel like you’ve never played an MMO in your life if this is the breaking point for you.
The core point of mmos for the last like 15 years has been alot of repetitive daily content like Daily quests, Daily dungeons, Reputation grinds and then maybe 1 or 2 days of meaningful Raid Content.
I “drag” myself through the loop because I like playing my characters. The gameplay itself is great and I get alot of satisfaction playing my classes well. There is a constant numerically calculatable upwards progression that sparks that monkey part of my brain that likes bars filling up and numbers going up.
Chaos Dungeons are really the only part of this game that feel a little tedious to me but even then that’s on classes that have unfun chaos Dungeons (Scrapper CD are torture). Guardians are still fun for me but I’m biased cause I managed to cut all my yohos out. Also a certain program my friend runs lets me track my dps which fullfills that toxic part of my brain to confirm how well I’m playing compared to everyone else. Turning Every descaluda into a dps test is fun to me
This is the 1st MMO i’ve played that forced the creation of alts to repeat contents, and by contents, i mean the 2 boring modes of chaos dungeon and guardian raid; Outside of these 2, 5-6days, there is nothing worth login for.
The 80% that left disagree.
Yep 6 bots = 100k players
.
Some of the more popular mmorpgs have a bit more to them than lost ark does.
FFxiv for example has dozens of dungeons you can get in your daily roulette to add variety, dozens of trials you can get in your daily roulette to add variety, hard modes, raids, mount farms, 2 repeatable towers that are optional and can be run as many times as you want every day, glamour (transmog) farm, professions, housing (legitimate housing that can be customized), quests, gold saucer, etc. etc.
WoW is/was pretty much similar.
Lost Ark’s daily loop is 2 of the same exact guardian (no variety), 2 chaos dungeons (feels the same in T3 as it did in T1), and una dailies.
Field bosses, ghost ships, chaos gates, and adventure islands aren’t daily, legion raids aren’t daily, abyss dungeons aren’t daily, tower has zero variety and can only be completed once per character (per difficulty) , most islands can only be done 1 time, professions have a limit, etc. etc.
Lost Ark really needs a lot more daily variety like other mmorpgs to even come close.
They have scaling for the guardians already, they could have a random (optional) roulette like ffxiv to spice things up daily instead of just the weekly 3. They could add some interesting stuff to the islands to make them somewhat repeatable. Many other things can be done, but right now the gameplay loop for Lost Ark is very very shallow compared to the more popular mmorpgs of the last 10-15 years.
It does have really nice combat, good vfx, good sounds (mostly), decent customization when you have skins and dyes though.
