Except that most people that are actually good at the game, it didn’t take “practice”. The game is not hard. If you are bad at lost ark, you are just plain bad at video games. And it can’t be too fun for them when they are terrible at it. How fun is floor POV and getting kicked from raid groups all time because you suck?

All games are not the same. These types of games live and die with casuals.
Who are high gearscore players going to bus if there are no casuals?
Who are they going to carry if there are no causals?

The gameplay loop for this game is incredibly shallow, without casuals you have people grinding to be the best of nothing and the game dies. There are big differences in whales, some have spent 1k+, some have spent 5k+, some have spent 10k+, and some have spent way more than that.
There is no way a 5k whale is on the same level as a 10k whale, if the 5k whale has no casuals to be better than, they give up because they’ll never be able to compete with the 10k whales. If the 10k whale has no casuals or 1-9k whales to be better than, they give up because they’ll never be able to compete with the 20k whales, etc. etc.
This has happened many many times before to games that have a hyper focus on vertical progression. Lost Ark in Korea has gained players over the years, we just keep losing and losing.

Games can lose players, that’s not the point. First the games gain players then they lose them over years and years. This game started out with a peak of 1.3m and has continued to go down ever since. The only “gain” was bots going crazy. Otherwise the numbers go straight down from 1.3 million.
This game has been out for a little over 6 months and has gained zero notable amounts of players.

Nothing blind about it. Ifthe casuals drop out, game will be just fine. As I said, casuals come and go. People drop and come all the time. My guild alone had 10 new players join it with the new express event. 10. Without even advertising or recruiting for our guild. 10 might seem like a small number. But thats 10 new players joining one guild at random. New players are coming. Others are leaving. Thats how casuals work.

Not really though. Good is just the opposite of bad. Had I said “one of the best”, that would be a different storry. In this case, good is just not bad. My whole point is that if someone that is bad by constantly being dead in every content they play and looking for carries everytime, they are not good. They are just a hindrance, and I could care less if they quit. I have little time to play the game, and the last thing i need is a bad player slowing everything down.

That wouldn’t work. Bots would take advantage of that and ruin the economy even more if there were easy accessible gold for every account.
They need to add some good account verification for new players and then they can be awarded such things.
