False RMT ban, help please!

I am here, on behalf of my unfortunate guildmates, because apparently if you’re banned/suspended in game, you also can’t post on the forum for help… Which in my personal opinion is ridiculous.

2 of my friends were recently banned on 08/26/2022, one permanently and the other for 16 days (until 09/11/2022). The accusation was RMT, however. I was in the discord voice chat during the events that led up to the ban. Player 1 , asked the guildmates who were online at the time, if anyone would be willing to LEND her 60,000 gold to buy an accessory for her shadowhunter 1460. She fully intended to return the gold after running all her legion raids on her 10+ characters for the week. Player 2, volunteered to lend her the gold.

We were all in discord (8+the 2 involved at the time, and she was streaming her game via discord so we were watching), there was no exchange of “real money” for this interaction. He mailed her the gold, she received it within seconds and bought the accessory and they both went to bed, having been online for 12+ hours grinding their dailies and UNA task on their numerous alts.

When Player 1 woke up a few hours later, she attempted to log on to do more daily grinding only to find out she was suspended until 09/11/2022 for “cheating”. When we reached out to Player 2, he ended up being permanently banned for “cheating”.

They have both submitted tickets, only to be told they couldn’t be told what specifically the issue of “cheating” was. After hours of crying and panicking and submitting tickets, Player 1 finally got a response saying it was due to the 60,000 gold exchange between the two of them. She was flagged as a buyer and Player 2 was flagged as a seller. They submitted another ticket with screenshots and their interactions with each other, including screenshots of them being in the same guild (provided by fellow guildmates, post ban) and they keep getting responses along the lines of “we determine what is fair play and can ban without notice”.

If AGS did not want players to be in communities and help each other out, what is the point of creating/publishing an MMO? Let alone one with a trading/mailing/auction house system within it?

The guild started submitting tickets on their behalf to try to get past the automated responses and to an ACTUAL live person, and we collectively found out that even though in the web ticket form there is a section/option to include hyperlinks to screenshots and records, the agents who review the tickets don’t even have the ability to open them. So when they were submitting their appeals, they submitted them with hyperlinks and were told the information was reviewed and the bans were merited/upheld. We now know that was completely false. At no point were either of them told that they needed to include the pictures in the rejection email requiring additional information, so instead they sent more hyperlinks, that were of course, not viewed, but not only that, no one informed them of this.

Since the horrendous appeal system says that after you appeal your appeal, you can’t submit anymore, their new emails have been continuously ignored without so much as a review. Literally, in the emails they are now receiving, AGS agents are telling them that their emails and all future emails from them regarding their bans are being completely ignored.

We don’t know what else to do, what other steps or avenues we can take. So I come here with the hopes that you guys have other suggestions we can try!

In all seriousness, im also a guildmate of the two banned in the above photo. And i was there when Fuhai asked for the loan in discord and when Whiteclawsummer answered her and replied he can loan her the money she needs. From my personal experience i do not believe Whiteclawsummer as an RMT’er but i did not know him for that long. But Fuhai on the other hand i’ve known for a very long time and has never RMT’d. She has spent thousands on loa in the last month or so alone, and would never compromise her account for a couple thousand gold lol. This needs to be looked into, because people getting falsely banned due to this algorithm of trading/sending mail is a bit bs. On top of this ridiculous system of banning without proper investigation, the ticket and appeal system is absolutely atrocious. 9/10 times you’re being told the info you provided is reviewed and told tough luck when its not even reviewed. Then you never get a reply, and can never get in touch with an actual human being to help. How do they expect to make a game thrive, when legit people cant even get their proper appeal through? It’s fantastic that they’re finally doing something on the bot / RMT issue, but innocent people caught in the crossfire should have a chance for a proper review and appeal lol.

I can vouch for this, as I am one of the guildmates who was present when this happened, and a good friend of these players. This was 100 % a shock for all of us, and deeply upsetting to our entire guild. Player 1 has been playing LA since day 1, and has been a commited player who put thousands of dollars into this game LEGITLY, with a plethora of steam receipts to show for it. Clearly, there is ample evidence showing this wasnt an RMT issue here. Why would they RMT and risk an account they put a lot of time, effort, and money into? Everyone understands there is a bot and RMT problem in the game but it is completely unfair when innocent players get flagged and banned by a bot system, and have ZERO ability to contest their ban, and state their case. How is it that AGS allows a game like lost ark, an MMO, which they know many players spend alot of money on, to be controlled by a bot system for bans, and does little to nothing to have a real person review the case when it is appealed. It is absurd to me that when a player gets falsely banned, they have no means of getting intouch with a real person to support and appeal their case. You just get banned, and get bot replies after spending hundreds, thousands of hours and dollars??? It makes no sense to me, that the Live chat feature was shut down. It just shows me that AGS has zero sympathy or care for their players and game.

Having systems like these (trading, auction house, mailing, etc.) are wonderful and necessary for the game’s economy and longevity. These systems are meant for players helping eachother out, bussing raids, etc. However, if all of these things available to us are contributing to falsely flagging and banning players, then its obvious AGS runs a badly developed ban tool, that needs to be revamped immediately, for the health of the community, and the sake of this game. Please FIX this.
If by a miracle, one does reach real customer service, 95% of them do not know what they are doing, have zero training, have no idea what you are talking about, pretend to look into your case, then copy paste an automated response that your ban was merited.

Everyone knows some bans are warranted, but we all also know countless people who have been falsely banned/suspended, and their bans are finally overturned after they sell their soul to bring awareness to it…and those are the lucky ones. There are many people who did not get that chance.

Something has to change, and something needs to be done. A full dedicated team needs to review automated bans such as this one. All the evidence is clearly here, and it doesn’t take a genius to realize how unwarranted this ban was. Please review this case and overturn this ban!!!

He had it on him after his 3 day wait period from the in game exchange.

We will try that. Thank you

According to him, he recieved the gold via the Royal Crystal exchange. He too is a guildmate, and has been buying alot through the shop over the last few weeks. At one point he was streaming his game and he had over 300k on the 3 day hold on his account purchased through the exchange.

Yes, we all saw that he had gold on hold from the royal crystal exchange.

Ags need to sort thier shit out then and actually hire people for customer support not have bots reply and know nothing abt the game. Hope some1 can help your friends out because this is dumb as fk. even if you swipe you get ban

So let me understand this… You guys sent 60k gold through mail while this game is running wild on RMT? What made you believe that this was a good idea? I agree that the ban sucks but why did you mail it lmao, isn’t a single person on that call aware of what’s going on right now?

What could/should have been done differently? They’re guildmates, we didnt see an issue at the time. If they were complete strangers with no interaction, that’s 1 thing. But they have about 18 characters in the same guild between just the two of them. The 2 characters that interacted in the exchange were in the same guild. No one expected what was to come. . . hindsight 20/20

Just auction house it?

Auction house isn’t any more safe than mail. If anything it would seem more sus with all the RMT accessories on market as of late.

Auction house RMT sadly is safe, just open lvl 1 gems and check it for yourself, unless they limit the gold per item one by one it’s always gonna be safe

So, in an MMO, built around raiding and gamers interacting with each other, you’re telling us that we shouldn’t use the tools built into the game for the purpose they were created? Sounds like it’s not something the players did wrong, but something with wrong with the game/system itself.

Am i wrong?

Like i get what you’re saying, but it SHOULDN’T have to be that way.

Again, hindsight 20/20. If any of us were aware this was a possibility, it would have been handled differently.

This isn’t hindsight, I would never recommend anyone to trade any gold per mail, not even 1k for bussing, I have never seen an MMO who had such a huge amount of bots, it shouldn’t be this way, but sadly is, sucks for everyone
