Quite honestly, this will be forgotten, probably tomorrow after the patch. A handful of people will scream and kick still, but most people will end up not caring relatively quickly. I give it at most a week or two. Just speaking from experience as someone who missed out on a way more lucrative compensation for early birds whaling and summoning within a few hours after a new unit banner went up, and nothing for those who missed out, in a gacha game I am still playing today (also developed by Smilegate ironically).
This isnât the first time this has happened and it wont be the last, they have shown that they will not rollback. Try not to take any of it too seriously because they sure donât.
Oh, believe me im going to remember this. If we all are not going to be treaten equally iâll take the decission of going full free to play experience from now on. Lets see how far things can get. Its right in their hands if i spend another single euro on this. Spending money for what, for some users get 40âŹ+ worth in Pheons and others nothing?.

Maybe you will, maybe you wonât, chances are youâll get over it soon. Right now itâs fresh and annoying. Iâve been there, and I got over it fast.
In one of Smilegateâs gacha games, they had a new unit come out with an ambiguous skill description, one interpretation was ridiculous and OP, and one was balanced, it functioned the balanced way but people got super upset about it not being broken and OP, so SG decided to refund every single currency used to summon with, and allow the playes to keep their summons. Whales obviously got a free SSS unit with a maxed out Artifact and several other 3, 4 and 5 star units and Artifacts on the way there that could be used to strengthen other units. Whales spent thousands of dollars, but got everything for free. If you didnât summon within a short time frame before they took the banner out to change the description of the skill, you got nothing. Early whales (or player saving up free currency) got thousands of dollars worth of upgrades to units for free. I missed out, felt annoyed. I got over it. I still play the game and enjoy it. This blunder is a drop in the ocean compared to the blunder I experienced.
I reckon youâll get over this too. You also forgot the cost of buying character slots to get 10 Pheons, and the likelihood that these characters has spent Pheons to gear up already in your math.
Yaels, how you canât understand that my point here is they generated a gap between players of a 200 Pheons difference. No matter they are free to play or not, they just generated that gap. And if they think iâm going to push my account to get those privileged users with my money, they are wrong. My point here is its not fair that they pushed some players and others donât. Making things easier to ones and others not. You getting my point now?.
And for those, (supporters or not) that they excluded from this gifts doesnât deserve this under any circunstances.

what gap of 200 pheon difference. its a gap of 60 pheons. you can not look at it based on players who bought 14 character slots , how can you objectively look at someone who has bought 14 character slots to get 200 pheons and be like âthey got a free 200 pheonsâ thatâs just delusional dude.
While I agree that people who didnât get anything it sucks for them and it feels bad. i do not think you deserve 200 pheons at all. I do think players deserve some form of compensation for how they reacted to the situation though. but thatâs just me.
It really isnât about the materials, itâs about the principal of the situation.
Again like I say many time this game is not a competition and is never fair by design.
100k? People who got lucky with quality, honing, cards or stone rng could have save millions of gold compared to you. But you donât complain cause its rng right?
Just think of this as equivalent RNG. Ultimately 100k gold is 1 week of playing, if you stop playing for 1 week you effectively lost âthe value of the giftâ.
Itâs small thing in long run, criticize AGS management and move on but no need to push for actual pheons to be mailed againâŚ

Itâs not just doing a query on their DB to get a list of characters that didnât open the mail. Thatâs very simple and they can do it. However, resolving the issue as others wanted in terms of removing the pheons sent by mistake is not that easy.
The mistake made by sending the pheon probably led to a large chain reaction and resolving that chain reaction would probably involve them messing with more than just their DB.
They did that by the way probably donât know how their backend works just guessing, thatâs how they removed it from everyone that didnât claim it in the mail probably.
100k gold is 1 week of playing? Please tell me how youâre getting that Iâd like to receive the same amount of gold per week.
Itâs not about being fair. This isnât RNG were working with here, itâs a company made decision.
That decision caused a mess.
That mess created a player imbalance.
Itâs about seeing what decision AGS make on how they want to go forward with this. That will determine a lot for many people. Thatâs all weâre saying, pissing off 50% of your player base over a silly email and a few stones worth of Pheon is going to be a backlash. Perhaps they should consider remedying that situation before it gets out of hand is the suggestion.

Itâs fine to say okay they made a mistake. But itâs hilarious that people are angry that compensation is given to everyone.
The people arguing that everyone should be given âthe exact fair amount of thingsâ is a bad argument as the game is fundamentally based on RNG. Especially when 100k gold is 1 week of playing. Like you have to be really addicted to be pissed at missing out on this⌠ie if you go on vacation for 1 week are you going to be disappointed youâre âfalling behind others in progressâ.
100k gold is so little in terms of gear progression its just not worth making a fuss over. Thatâs why theyâre providing compensation, its just hilarious seeing people ask for compensation only for people who didnât get the mail so its âfairâ. What part of this game is competitive? Ie how your how âimbalance pointâ.

I dont think they can accurately tell which accounts redemeed the mails and which didnt so the most likely outcome is that everybody will receive compensation (its just speculation tho).
If you make it a binary condition like those who claimed the mail get no compensation package and those who did do you can still screw over a group of players who lets say claimed the mail but only on 1 character.
They should have just let everyone claim the mails to be honest I have no idea how they will sort this mess out but lets wait and see.
The answer is easy : they donât care at all about fixing the mess they created.
The only goal of Amazon was to prevent all players from getting free pheons, not to repair their mistake.
Thereâs an easy way for them to fix it : just send back the mails to the accounts which didnât log into the game before the maintenance.
This is the only way to make it fair for everyone, but they prefer to give free stuff to everybody and say âscrew youâ to those who werenât connected at the right time.

Theoretical fixes are always easy. From a technical perspective they can be very limited in what they can actually do.
For example one can say that if you RMT they should just deduct the gold even if it means your balance goes into negative but they could also have the database set up in a way that it only allows 0 and greater integers as a value for gold.
The pheon stuff is the same. What if somebody has already spent it? What if they purchased an item through the AH already or how do you even trace it back to who claimed it? What if people who have deleted those mails from their inbox after they claimed can evade detection or if they just left the coins in their storage? What if somebody only claimed the mail on 1 character can you make a difference between a person who has benefitted 10 pheons from this from those who claimed on all their characters?
Its easy to think about solutions until you have to actually write a query for it and execute it while being 100% confident that nothing will go wrong XD
Not defending AGS what they did was a shitty move but I do feel for the devs who will have to try and sort this out.
