Send out mail talking about new Tripods, attach unintended Pheon
Retract the mail, fail to figure out how to remove the Pheon, give up, let players keep it
Fabricate PR to shift blame to exploit, but don’t re-send the mail that was supposed to inform people of Tripods to begin with
Wait a couple of days for escrow Pheon to leave marketplace ecosystem
Receive great response for the new Patch and Repeaer Release
Surprise and fuck over the players anyways, likely locking some out of the AH on Release Day
Also no offense but the best gift that they thought of was Animal Skins and two Hope Amulets (where people with brains would have had been very thing +3 anyways)? This is all while reaching into the players’ pockets to screw them over.
I mean they’re gonna be vocal about it. It’s no surprise, they only look like a lot of people.
On one hand I’m glad they had the balls to do it (not for the removal itself, just making a hard decision for once). On another though, it seems like they’re bending a bit too fast to pressure.
Who knows, give it 2 days and we might be seeing another “actually here’s your pheons back”
I am too, but I also have too many characters so I guess that’s on me. It’s been harsh the last two weeks because BC jumped so much, I usually clean out Mari’s to refill.
Still blows my mind that someone in the AGS/SG hivemind decided to go this route.
Like how hard was it to be like “meh we did something nice for the community, with a new Class and mega patch coming out Wednesday, let’s just let them have it.”
All joking aside though, while this does kinda suck for those in the negative this was about the most balanced way they could go about doing this.
Maybe anyone who was going neg would be set to 0 instead and just say in that message nothing is perfect but we cannot break players accounts trying to be fair. /shrug
Well, ppl with negativ pheons now cant use broker.
we have a crucial price drop by engravings and those ppl cant buy anything, we are closed out on the market now, thats a really good compensation for that, I get it.
next time my wife will do sth wrong, I´ll going to hit her, that how I feel now.
and not any CM responding towards that…nice work
hope all the ppl that didnt get pheons now feel good. next time you´ll get fucked hard!
Yeah they shouldn’t have allowed for - Pheon. At worst they should have set anyone going negative to 0. It isn’t worth literally breaking peoples ability to buy from the market over their mistake.
If your bank accidently deposits 20 bucks in your account and then writes you a letter say it’s fine you can just keep it… Then 3 days pulls that 20 out of your account, while it might be justified it’s still kind of a dick move lol
The problem is they kept ad-hoc putting out statements that were true in the moment but not carried out on.
the crazy part is if you have multiple roster, main roster took 100, secondary roster took 30, and they took the highest number of pheon one of your roster take, and took the same amount from all your roster
i never used any of the pheon from this pheon drama, and my main pheon is back to normal, but my 2nd roster is now negative. that’s kinda silly
On one hand I’m glad they had the balls to do it (not for the removal itself, just making a hard decision for once). On another though, it seems like they’re bending a bit too fast to pressure.
Personally, in this case, I think they made the “hard decision” when they allowed players to keep the Pheons after saying they would remove them during their 5 hour+ emergency maintenance.
I see it as a problem when they now have straight up lied by removing them after stating they wouldn’t. Players may have in good faith started to spend those Pheons, and now they find themselves put into a negative balance and (based on word of mouth) are unable to use the Market at all, even to purchase items that has no Pheon cost attached (not sure if this claim is accurate, I never spent any of the Pheons).
They make a mess with “accidentally” sending mails with Pheons (how do you accidentally send three different items, one being Pheons?) into a bigger mess (removing mails with items, incl. Pheons that were unclaimed, but not removing claimed Pheons when you said you would) then an even worse mess (by removing Pheons you said players would get to keep). Can’t trust Amazon I guess.
Changing your mind isn’t a lie and being incompetent isn’t being disingenious.
You can argue the result is the same, but the distinction matters if their intentions matter to you. And it seems they do.
Haven’t seen anyone place trust near amazon in a good while even on these forums.
That would’ve been the easy wait out. It was a hard decisiom precisely because a day passed and to make things even remotely fair they had to go back on their word.
And hard is not equal to good. It is a stupid decision after a whole string of stupid decisions through and through
