A lot of thread like this share the same idea as yours. AGS/SG dont have the solution for this issue just because you cant force someone to play or add a support class in their roster. It is either you to play 6 support class in your roster or just deal with it or play 8man DPS.
let them release artist and it will be boring after 2 weeks bet
even in KR there are still support waiting room
I think it’s very true for other games. Just look at the queue times for group finders, it tells a lot about the player base. I bet Artist won’t fix the problem of “fewer Supports” cause most of the artist players are support mains anyway.
And maybe the reason is that people want to compete with others. You can’t compete with others as a support, and the supporting style in Lost Ark is more of a babysitter style than an active “i need to top my group with healing” style. Some will find this rewarding, some won’t. I got both supports, one on 1490 and one on 1430 and i like that, but that’s personal preference. So it is natural that i will play the artist too, and i think that’s what most support players will do.
I’m not a support main but this is insanely true.
Just yesterday jumped to a Yoho on a my bard alt, 1500 zerk carrying in exchange for flare/phero. Had this sorceress go and stand in front of the boss to die and then type “Bard???” There I was charging bubbles for atk buff for even faster clearance.
People see a support and just reduce them to a healing pond.
tell them bards dont heal lol, explain every heal a bard pops comes at the expense of a buff and unlike other mmo’s you are not a “healer”, people trying to play this like the trinity and it just doesn’t work haha. tell them to quit griefing and keep yourself alive either by not getting hit or using your pots if you do xD. it helps eventually lol
This is not really true, because they likely have 2 supports and 4 DPS doing raids for gold right now.
If Artist releases then they will maybe go to 3 supports and 3 DPS, therefore they will both contribute with more supports and at the same time they will require less supports for their DPS.
Look at it this way:
2x support can “cover” 6 DPS players. Since you yourself have 4 DPS characters, then we could say that you are supporting 2 extra DPS players.
3x supports can “cover” 9 DPS players. Since you have 3 DPS characters, then you are providing support for 6 extra players.
That is 200% increase in such situation.
Go ask Korean players if Artist filled the support shortage.
One additional support won’t solve it, but I’m sure it will help. Just because they still have shortage, does not disprove my point. If not for Artists it might have been much worse for them. At least in my case it will be as I have shown earlier, so I’m gonna be contributing 200% more to the community with my support characters.
I mean even a small percentage of new support players would help considerably seeing as there is such a high demand for them in raids.
I know I will be playing an Artist when she’s finally released. I don’t play duplicate classes and already have a bard (at 1460). The paladin playstyle is not my thing so I don’t play paladin. I would have 100% more supports in my roster if Artist were here though.
Also still waiting for the Summoner which got stolen from me after beta…
I started as Bard. Left the game late April as i hate the sound effects and the animation style is also not mine. Pala is extremely boring.
Now i’m back playing Arcana.
So this argument of everyone being interested in Artist are support mains is kinda stupid.
Had a blast playing her on KR/RU and will for sure play it as a Main and have 1 or 2 Artist alts on top of that.
Thats 3 supports more when Artist releases compared to 0 supports i play now.
And just helping with the current situation is still a good thing. Don’t get why ppl argue “it won’t solve the problem”.
Installing more solar pannels will increase the amount of renewable energy - but we still need conventional sources…well screw it than. Makes no sense to instal them ???
Forum trolls logic is on another lvl.
You don’t need them for raids. Just dont get hit! Every Legion Raid is possible without a certain class.
We definitely need more supports. Saying we don’t need them or they don’t make raids more enjoyable or easier is borderline trolling and annoying.
@Rephrezmant please stream your clown progress at the end of the month with no support. I would love to watch.
They make raids easier, that’s right, but they are not mandatory. I am a Support Main myself and i got 2 Supports so I cannot stream that for you, sorry. And nobody here says “don’t bring Artist class”. It’s just there will always be a support shortage even with 5 new support classes
More like the will.
After having massive probs to get into pugs with my DDs when Valtan was released I started creating Paladins.
One of them is already at 1475.
2 more are at 1430, soon to be pushed to 1445.
Investment is superlow, since you only need 4x3 for the forseeable future.
That might shift the responsibility to the DDs a bit, but since they are expected to be overequipped anyhow it doesn’t make that much of a difference.
I agree that there should be a PP+Express with every class release though, it makes replacing a char in your Roster (Few play more than 6 chars actively because of the Gold limit) much more feasible.
Artist would help though, since there are ppl who like her playstyle more than that of Paladin/Bard not to mention ppl who don’t want multiples of the same class. Most ppl I know have 1 supp in their roster of 6.
Which is only true because the content comes heavily nerfed to us.
The Legion Raids are designed to be played with 3:1 - dps:supp, the fact that you can clear them without one doesn’t change that.
Thats what I thought, which is why I play 2dps+4 x pala (2 will be switched to Artist when she arrives)
The Palas get invited superfast and that way I can live with the longer time I need with my 2nd DPS (One of them is my main and does guild runs
)
But I get why ppl wouldn’t play supp at all.
I asked once, answer was that it seemed to help a bit in the long run (regarding both Paladin and Artist) but didn’t in the short run.
same!
Also because that is still a farcry from the 25% of classes that should be support.
When there are 24 classes in total, 6 of them should be supports.
Thanks for giving us 4 supports. But the most important thing is do play what you enjoy not just because we are lacking of support.
Cheers!
Yeah, I weighed it heavily while building up Gold for honing and came to the conclusion that while I like DPS more, my hate for unnecessary downtime (waiting for supps) outweighs it by far ![]()
Technically its 3 right now, since I planned for an Express Event with Scouter which probably won’t happen - so my 4th pala will get to T3 today (with Event Mats).
1x1475 and 2x1430 pala are running Raids already though.
Where was anything said they are designed to be 3 dps one support? you cant just say some bullshit as a fact lmao. From everything I’ve read and seen encounters are designed to be self tanking and self healing with team synergies in many different forms. viewing supports as “healers” is just incorrect. DPS checks for example show buffs>heals pretty plainly. The game is 100% not designed to rely on another player when you make a mistake on basic attack patterns and take a hit. If in the event you have a support bard in your party you are griefing the other 3 players by making them heal instead of buff. and your party would probably clear faster with another good synergy over a support anyway in many cases, the fact that most don’t even try this because they are locked into some “must have a support in the party” fallacy doesn’t change that
Artist is really fun to play
the class release cadence should be sped up or skipped entirely up to Artist.
Give the people what they want.
Ikr I really don’t get why they’re not bringing her out sooner. Would help literally everyone, not even just the Artist enjoyer’s. That Artist looks amazing btw! ![]()
