Friend Suspended for warning chat about a scammer?

Hello everyone!

If anyone who is a frequent player on the Regulus server, and in Feiton, you have probably seen myself, and my friends in the area chat. We are consistent Map Slot buyers, and do this whenever there is a Chaos Gate open.

Today, My friend went to log in, and was banned for 7 days for “Disruptive Behavior”. After the last few days of Chaos Gates, there was an individual on the server, who would join map groups, get the bonus of all other individuals map runs, then leave their group. This individual would also sell Map Slots, and when everyone had paid, he would disband the party.

As we have a small community of legitimate Map Slot buyers, we started putting in our messages that this individual was scamming, as we did not want people to lose their gold, or get scammed on a map rotation. When I logged in, I had a warning for the same thing, however he received a 7 day.

When attempting to speak with Amazon support on the issue, they basically told him, he was banned for :

Treat others the way they wanted to be treated.

Do: be kind, build fellowship with other players, and be your best, unique self.

Do not: engage in behavior that diminish, threaten, bully, insult, abuse, or harass others. This includes any behavior that:

While I understand that being rude to individuals, and such is not allowed, I do not believe getting banned for multiple days, for warning and trying to protect the community is the right way to go at this.

Is this the precedent that AGS is starting? The same sort of issue happened with New World, and I would hate to see AGS do the same as that.

Also, when things like this happen, why will Amazon not share the chat logs for what caused the ban? I have not played a single other MMO/Game that will not show Chat Logs that caused their bans?

It feels like a lot of AGS policing is automated, and when the GMs do come into play those GMs have a tenuous understanding of the English language at best. I think they source a lot of this work out to other countries.

So, I guess all I can say is be very careful what you say in chat. Avoid certain trigger words and phrases, because the GMs reviewing your chat logs probably won’t be able to decipher any context or nuance around your words.

Im assuming they will say the same thing as they did with New World, about “No bans are automatic”, when we literally did tests on New World, and could trigger Auto bans for people, who had literally NEVER said a word in chat

“AGS does not autoban!”

But that’s what happened to you
