In my opinion, by the time I have the gear score to do an activity, I am so powerful the content is not a challenge.
This makes the game incredibly boring.
My suggestion:
Just give a “Hard” mode for all content in the game.
First, for this to be worth doing you would need to make it so if a player joined “Hard Mode” content that is below his gear score, they should be “nerfed” to match that content. Basically just have a “stat cap”. If someone with 1000 gear score enters the Guardian Raid for Ur’nil. They should have their stats reduced so the guardian raid isn’t trivial.
Examples of the difficulty I am expecting:
Chaos Dungeons - Give me a reason to use “Matchmaking” on my support class characters. It’s silly even the support classes can completely demolish entire screens of monsters over and over again easily. Give us a reason to use Matchmaking, Make it challenging. There shouldn’t be a 100% completion rate for any content in the game, it should be possible to fail.
Guardian Raids - I know these were recently made easier because people refuse to learn the mechanics, but give us a mode that allows us to experience the content as it was meant to be played. And the lock players to the correct gear score. (If I join at a higher gear score, just lower my character’s stats to be equal)
Abyssal Dungeons - Same as Guardian Raids.
Basically, it would be nice if there was some actual challenging content I can engage with instead of just flying through my dailies every day while almost falling asleep. Of course the rewards would have to be slightly higher, but not too much, since we can only do limited content each day, you could even make the rewards just 10% better.
