Game keeps dying in bots

Yeah. They’re already levelling up fast. They already in punika now

took 6 months for them to do a ban wave and it only took the bots 3 days to come back in full force.

ban wave should happens every day if not every day every week atleast . This is really not too much to ask

Yeah, give the bot creators direct feedback on what gets detected and what does not so they can easily work around it in a matter of hours and we’ll be right back where we are now :man_shrugging:

Why do they even bot tho? They are able to make money from the 10k players whos still playing?

not only bots are the issue why game is dying, a huge factor is also that after vykas patch there still no dc/game crash fix is and thats now over 7 months

pretty cuz i had to restart my game today 20x + times cuz its crashing without any message or i get loading screen stuck.

well 3 more dcs i guess im done for today cuz youre getting nothing done… nitrado minecraft servers are more stable…

but im glad they banned bots cuz there still 50++ at punika hot springs stuck  like allways

more than likely, disconnects are associated with a large number of bots in the game

You would think that, but disconnects continued without slowing down right after the ban wave, and once upon a time we had a lot more concurrent overall without EAC disconnects every hour.

A captcha system would annoy the crap out of the average player and not impact the bots at all.

Phone verification is a small and easily bypassed barrier to entry that also causes a lot of overhead

Then they can just ban any monkey nickname with a mococo buff and gs below 1325
And all the people who buy this
After all, this is definitely not a missclick

They absolutely can and should ban the buyer and the seller of every single one of those listed items.

Here we go again

Cause idiots RMT so much bots consider it worth the effort.

Just ban waves every 2 weeks or month its simple and will be effective.

captcha for “new” zone when you enter in the first time would not annoy average player maybe the 2-3 players starting the game but 100-200k of bots for sure

Ok so lets break down captcha.

For one, you need to make the captcha understandable and readable to a wide audience, since our version of the game is pushed from Steam to a wide and varied playerbase. If you use Text based captcha words or letters, those need to be easily typed in on both a controller and keyboard, require users not to change language settings (from say French, Spanish, Korean, etc keyboard layout) and also make the text the captcha displays readable for everyone.

That isn’t an easy thing to just toss in the game and get right.

Now lets look at image captchas. The same above rules apply. The pictures need to be clear, they need to be something everyone understands and can easily identified with. With people close to globally playing our client that isn’t as easy to do as it sounds.

Now, how can the bots get around this?

Pixel and image detection has been around forever. You notice how most captcha are the same few things? Find the bikes, find the cars, find the stop signs? Basic stuff? Well with 200k bots it’s going to take them maybe a day to capture every single image captcha they decide to use and automate it’s bypass.

Within a week they’ll have the captcha system completely beat with basic pixel detection, they’re using it already for fishing bots, you think it’ll be that much harder for them to use on a captcha? If they make the captcha too blurred to try and avoid this you run into the same problems we all run into when we encounter captcha elsewhere, what we typed was wrong because some l was an l, some O was a o, some F was actually a T but a blurred line obscured it, etc.

Finally, a Bot isn’t some mystical creature that lives in the Matrix. These are player run accounts, multi-boxed with a human monitoring 10-20 scripted bots at a time. You think it’s going to break the bots to have that dude have to type in a captcha on 20 accounts every couple hours?

Next, what happens to the player who fails captcha?

If I go take a piss or make a coffee while changing zones and miss a captcha, what happens? If I decide to ignore the captcha, or fail it because an I was a l or a O was 0 do I get flagged? Auto Banned? If I just out of spite smash my keyboard every time a captcha comes up to get it the hell off my screen, am I now a bot?

So now you have a system that over complicates players ability to play, does little to slow down the bots themselves and will likely cause a bunch of false bans and we all know how great of an experience it is trying to get support from AGS.

Think of how many zones you switch in a day just doing your una’s. That’s like 9 zones per lopang alt alone. If every single lopang run also requires me to do a captcha, nope, after a week or two of that i can promise you there would be downright rage.

If there is more bots than real players is because is very profitable to them for even make bot farms with thousands of PCs.

Game have around 80-100k real players, that is still a lot… Lost Ark is very far from death yet lol but yeah, I give it 3-5 years of lifetime tbh.

lucky if at least 30 bots in the initial locations will have at least one real player…

Actually the game is already dead: Bots, DC’s, boring Homework-Dailies, Gatekeeping, RMTs, Censorship, Broken Market, Delayed Classes…
