Game locks for a few seconds constantly

Ever since launch my wife has been getting these points where her screen just freezes and then catches up. Lasts a few seconds but as you can imagine it makes difficult content hard to do.

Some details:

  • NVIDIA RTX 2060
  • 16GB Ram
  • Installed on an NVME SSD

We’ve tried: Checking the integrity, changing from windowed/full screen, unplugging the second monitor, turning graphics down. The freezing is random, it can happen when she’s all alone or when she’s in bigger group content.

Anyone have anything that might help?

Didnt mention drivers, thats gonna be EVERYONES first go to…

I got it sometimes while changing maps. Totally diffrent rig thu.

Also CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

@Saliv this happens mid map, mid-encounter, just purely randomly it seems. And multiple times per map/encounter

Have you monitored to see whats bogging/spiking if anything when this occurs? Might lead to a solution or identification of the issue.

I haven’t been able to find anything that correlated to it happening. Sometimes she’ll just be running around, other times she’ll be fighting something. In a variety of activities. We’ve reduced it happening some by lowering the graphics and going full screen but still seems to happen.

I meant task manager/resource wise… any processes other than LA peaking, or is LA even munching resources… things like that.

CPU/GPU/MEMORY usage

I know the 2060’s have had heat issues, what temp does it run (I know its a beast and shouldnt, but they can run hot and cause problems)

I just grabbed MSI Afterburner and going to have my wife take some numbers if it happens again. I also did the V-Sync shutoff for Lost Ark which others have suggested. I’ll keep the thread updated.
