So, when I use gear conversion do I have to get 55 bones and 55 wings each time I use the conversion?

As far as I know, no.
You just need those amounts to initially unlock the ability to use gear conversion, and then you can do it freely at no cost.

Just 55 of each to essentially “unlock” it. You can do it as many times as you want after getting 55 of each.

Ty for the help <3 I just wanted to know so I can try red lancer, but I did not want to have to get the mats twice
Forgot to add as well you can use the (i forget what its call but you can setup builds to auto use) to auto swap the gear sets as well. Like my bard uses Yearning for the standard build and a betrayal dps set for things like Chaos dungeons.
