So at ilvl 1000 i tried my first ghost ship, the group failed to get it done due to a ton of untelegrafed moves that 1-shot you and 10-15 feathers later we all had red gear so we left. and here is the kicker we are now locked out for the week, so no other attempts are possible. what great design. this game is realy starting hit all my trickers.
You can repair by using your pet.
only if you have aura.
you cant repair when you are dead, and when i released in the last phase i got 1-shot as soon as i used a feather, and people where already leaving, i dont mind failing, but to be locked out for the week and told that you already claimed the loot, when no loot have be given is just stupid.
ok this one is on you … learn the fight … it has alot of hp but NOTHING there can 1 shot u unless u literally refuse to move and take multiple hits …
is its on me to have 20 other people in the group to learn the fight aswell?
again i dont mind failing but to be locked out for a week, now thata differant story. but i guess i can get gud and multibox 20 toons.
except you can’t really move if you are not a mobile class. I’m playing as a gunlancer and with the reduced movement speed + only having 1 dodge which goes barely anywhere, not every attack is dodgeable and yes there are skills that is straight up one shot, even with full shield.
Would it be possible for you to use a swiftness build so you can gain some mobility?
I’m with you. When I lost the ghost ship last week and noticed that my weekly ghost ship reward was marked as “claimed”, I was like WTF! I didn’t claim shit!
The fact that you can’t redo it after a failure is pure garbage. You can end up with a group of noobs on the raid and it is going to be a failure no matter what. It is literally a gamble. You have to hope to get a bunch of skilled people on your raid, or else you get shit on.
I think the claiming of the reward after a failure is a bug… But that’s a damn big one… need to be corrected…
Can we get some moderators to warn all these “git gud” guys? It’s an open insult even if they’re probably not the most skilled on the planet. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated either in-game or in the forums.
Also, I don’t want to presume too much but does your “interweb” also tell you that Ghost Ships have RANDOM matchmaking and you CANNOT CONTROL what the other 20+ people are doing ?
TLDR: If a game has random matchmaking (especially with weekly reset reward) it should NOT punish and lock you out especially when you may have done your best at the encounter. You probably can’t find that on the “interwebs” or in any guides but it’s called common sense.
Also, to everyone affected by this the only way to get ourselves heard is to keep this conversation going. If other people/friends are affected by this ask them to come on the forums and voice their opinions.
I did the ghost ship for the first time and I got hit by one single ability, everything is telegraphed. You are just bad at dodging and understanding mechanics.
The best way to learn is by practice, stop whining on the forum and put effort in learning the mechanics of the game properly.
People think they are entilted to get rewarded for participation.
Loot it a reward not a given.
While the statement of get good is pretty crap, he isnt wrong. All fights going forward will have multiple 1 shot mechanics that no matter what ilvl you are, you will always be 1 shot by them.
The fights themselves also become longer and longer in order to make the mechanics that much harder to force you to play perfectly longer.
The developers have made this game to be extremely punishing. I think people need to stop treating this like a regular MMO, its not. There’s no holy trinity no one can save you from yourself in this game, if your not enjoying the fights just wait till it gets even more punishing.
keep in mind that most NA players are VASTLY under-stated/leveled for their iLevel.
They are missing engravings, bonus skill points, bonus stat points, card abilities, book collection bonuses, etc.
So failing at this point isn’t all that surprising.
Not taking sides per se, especially as there are couple different arguments going on (original complaint locked out on fail, get good aka learn mechs, etc)
But while I don’t agree with way OP worded it, his conclusion isn’t wrong. Put subjective feelings and opinions aside and there are only couple facts:
1- what does the game consistently teach you, by multiple areas of reinforcement about limited loot vs lockout?
Fail a guardian raid, doesn’t use up one of your harvests, so not locked out of loot for that try. Same for abyss, fail and not locked for that attempt.
It isnt subjective opinion but a fact that for good or bad, whatever reason, the devs put a consistent mechanic of failures not locking you oit of that next attempt - only a success.
So when an isolated event like ghost ships behaves differently, I’m not going so far as to say this is wrong or unfair or any irrelevant subjective reaction like that - but simply that it is inconsistent with what devs themselves have taught and conditioned players to expect.
Again, im fine if ghost ship remains the exception, but hard to argue it is pretty logical to assume you’d get another try given how game taught you to expect that up to that point
Fair.
But theres also events that do lock you out too. I got disconnected loading into chaos dungeon a week ago and used up 1 of my attempts.
I agree that the game should probably make it more obvious as to which events do this. But i dont see smilegate fixing this unfortunately.
Wonder if devs didn’t code that in or is bugged? On the only abyss I disconnected on, soon as logged back in I was emailed a ticket that allowed 1 free unlock of that abyss dungeon.
It had been locked out but ticket gave me retry, although it had 3 hr expiration timer on it.
Maybe harder content later on will also have ghost ship one and done mechanic but so far aside from actual connection issue lockouts, seems the the beginner content is fairly forgiving in that regard
You are correct. But to be locked out for a week because others did not know what they were doing is rough. I failed a ghost ship with 1 death. Once people get wrecked and start leaving I can do nothing, it is not soloable before enrage. The problem here isn’t the difficulty of the fight, or the lack of knowledge on their first attempt. It’s being locked out on a weekly because people were unable to complete it. You can only guarantee up to 3 others know what they’re doing.
Aura is currently ~2,150 gold. You can get that in a day if you’re running 960+ Ghost Ships.
Damn the 960 ghost ship drops you 2,2k gold ?
I got scammed out of the last 2 ones i did.
