Permaban for first time offense is harsh.
First time offenders should get 3-7 days ban with all their gold taken away, regardless if they bought it or if it was their actual gold.
Second time should be permaban, no excuses.

Everyone seems to be very mad with the buyers. The buyers aren’t flooding area chat. The buyers are just using the cheapest way to get the materials they need. The buyers are not the problem. The problem is the bots, and the systems. Change the shop prices to be more fair, make RMT gold less sparse, the problem fixes itself. Blanket banning people because they received gold will always get innocent people banned. Whenever a friend quits, they usually give everything tradable to another friend, in certain communities, people will send a bunch of free stuff to one person so they can progress faster. These are not people breaking TOS, they’re simply enjoying the community aspect of an MMO with trading.
Make accounts so that they must be 2FA. Reach out to Easy-Anti Cheat, and make them aware of the botting and speedhacks.
It is possible to make it very very hard to multibox. Which will make the gold cost a lot for the RMT market to print. As it is now, all they need is lazy macros in a multibox, and a VPN. Every single one of them can do it simply.

Seriously man, if you think Amazon is in leagues with sites like G2A, and it’s not just random tech-enthusiast multiboxxers making money by botting 12 accounts at once, then you’re just wrong. They do this in every other game, the same sites. It’s not Amazon. Amazon has the in-game shop. It’s an absolutely insane idea that Amazon would make their own in-game shop the worst on the market, inflate their own in-game currency, cause themselves issues, and widespread ban people that are giving them money (for 3 days, or permanently). You have to be on something good my friend.

If you can’t look at this games release, and look at how it’s been handled, and how it continues to be handled, yet still be unable to come to an informed, educated conclusion, that’s your own problem. I won’t sit here and try to explain to you how this all works in the adult world, maybe one day you will figure it out.
Meanwhile the hundreds of people from the Commerce Lock ban thread (850 posts on it when it was locked) have all been silenced and can’t even get a human response for over a week.
All threads about our issue have been locked/deleted/moved and no one will even reply to our appeal tickets.

LOL wrong. If there is nobody who buys from these bots then there wont be any bots cuz they dont make money. So yes, buyers are the problem, atleast partialy.

conspiracy andy over here lol… as with most games gold is majority sold through portals where anyone can list it, there’s no one singular site that controls the market. amazon has no hand in 3rd party sales, it actually harms their business if the price of gold is 10x cheaper than in game.
also the value of gold in game is completely determined by the players

How does banning buyers solve the issue? It’s a band-aid solution, just as banning the bots one by one without actually changing the systems is. Nothing is stopping the buyers from making a second account, and purchasing from a site with more discrete methods, nothing is stopping the buyers from buying under the minimum amount, enough to get a bunch of Crystalline Aura at a quarter of the price AGS offers.
Any comment that starts with taking a single thing out of context without taking into account everything else, and “LOL wrong.” is obviously written by someone that can’t understand any of this though, so I can see why you are confused.
Do you understand supply and demands? Where is no demands there is no supply. Its simple business.

Best solution? Ban both . They both participate in activity against TOS.

Banning either doesn’t solve the issue. You ban 20 of the botters accounts they multibox on, in any way whatsoever that is possible, they hit a button, change all their hardware IDs and make 20 more accounts. You ban buyers on a massive scale, you end up hitting innocent people that are just enjoying the community aspect of an MMO with trading. They can also just make another account. If you set up an algorithm to ban them, the gold sellers will adapt and find ways to trade gold without being flagged, and they will continue to sell/buy. As long as the methods of printing RMT gold are existent, people will print RMT gold, and people will buy it.
If you instead tackle the real issue; that people are able to easily set up multibox macros and print gold, RMT gold becomes more sparse, more expensive. People will buy less because it is more expensive, or it will be so limited that many people cannot buy it at all. If you do it so it’s hard enough, then the in-game shop becomes just better than RMT ever will. This fixes RMT, currency inflation, market instability, and makes it so all of the money actually goes to the publishers/ developers, and makes it so you are limited by Marci’s Shop and weekly chests, as you should be, so it stops whales from instant progression. It fixes all of the issues at hand. Banning the bots and buyers one by one fixes nothing.

If you buy gold from BOT gold seller then you are not innocent and you deserve punishment.
