Gold Deposit - what for?

I am very confused what purpose this feature serves? “Added new preventions to deter gold sellers”, I have a hard time believing that bots or gold sellers, would actually use real money to load up gold, with a very “bad” exchange rate, to then sell that gold further at a cheaper price? The gatekeep this brings to the table is so inconvenient and annoying. I mostly used this feature If i saw a good accessory at the AH, I loaded up gold via exchange rate, to then be able to bid or buy the piece I was going after. Now I have to do all of that three days in advance, to make sure I could use said gold if a piece I might want pops up. It doesn’t make any sense to me and I already had situations where I had to miss out on a piece I really wanted, because of this inconvenience.

I also find it super annoying that skins aren’t tradeable right away, and that you have to wait three days, all this - what for? To me that just sounds like excuses to make people use worse exchange rates via the official currency exchange, or make people whale more for outfits on release, since you can’t transfer them between your roster freely. Personally I could live with 3 days until they become tradeable, but even locking them out of your other rosters characters? This sort of defeats the purpose for whaling or spending money if you come think about it. Like don’t you do all of that to get towards a goal faster, or instantly?

Supposedly they had a large number of people starting to do charge backs. They would purchase royal crystals, convert, then charge the amount back to their account. Similar to when the game first launched with the founder packs.

They’d send the gold over somehow though because the charge backed account would get perma.
