I was wondering, to combat the gold seller and botters.
If AGS just sold the gold at the price that the bots were selling, wouldn’t that destroy their financial gain or purpose? If it is made into the value that those people are selling for?
I guess it won’t. It’ll also destroy game economy more and on a fresh game it’ll destroy even more. Gold will become a lot less important currency. If it gets too cheap on an official sell a lot of people that never think to buy from those websites/gold sellers will start to buy etc.
There is no way to stop gold sellers. Only slow them down. It’s a free to play game so there is literally no cost to make another account after the gold seller gets banned.
The only way to completely stop it would be to completely remove the action house and disable all player trading. Which will never happen.
The best option Amazon should go for is banning all players that have purchased gold, with close scrutiny on any players receiving gold via the mail and not through the market.
This is piss off a lot of people, plus there will be people unfairly banned. But I guarantee it will hurt gold sales if your account gets suspended pending review after getting gold via mail lol.
But this is also why nothing can be done. You’ll just have to learn to live with gold sellers, and play your own game.
Actually there could be a way. Maybe not completely but it woukd be much costlier. We could mac ban them. Or id ban them. We know that all hardware have unique identifier that tells what kind of machine we are running. Windows version, motherboard etc. So we could implement ip or mac on top of id bans. Idk if this breaches privacy laws but i know for a fact that it works because one of my friends uses such system in his private gta5 server.

The system you mentioned has been in effect for multiple multi player games and their anti cheats for decades.
None helps. The right people with the right tools will come back.
