I know awhile back there were some issues regarding folks using Greenlight Networks as their ISP. I’ve recently moved back to school where this is the ISP provided to me and have been unable to access Lost Ark due to the supposed block of anyone on Greenlight Networks. Has there been a fix to this or is there a workaround?
For reference, I launch the game and am immediately sent over to select servers in South America whereas I am a player located in NA-East. I am unable to select to move to NA-East because I get an error saying “Region Unavailable - The region is closed and can’t be selected”
Any help would be appreciated, I’m a frequent (and paying) player who doesn’t want to not be able to play due to something out of my control.
I’m sorry about the issue you’re having with the access to the game, in this case it is important to know if the service provider or the network you’re using has a restriction since “Greenlight Network” is the ISP provided by your school there could be a chance where the ISP has some lock on this.
If that’s not the case then I can advice you to reach us via chat using the following link: Contact Us | Amazon Games to create a support ticket and review your case deeply.
Please make sure to have the DxDiag ready once you reach support, you can pull it following this steps:
DxDiag report:
Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag.
Click on dxdiag.exe.
When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.
If you need further assistance in any other issue please don’t hesitate in reaching us again!
I am having this same issue now, also on Greenlight Networks. But the issue persists when I try connecting over my mobile hotspot as well. There has to be more than just the ISP at any faulty here. What I have found to “work” with this issue and ones prior is playing thru GeForce Now. No idea what the root problem is since I can take my laptop to an entirely different house with a different ISP and still have this issue, but never a problem on GeForce Now from anywhere.
I’m having the same issue now as well. Mobile hotspot works, but using my own apartment’s internet doesn’t anymore. I was able to login just fine this morning.
This has to do with the way greenlight handles ip addresses, as there are hundreds of replies in this thread Region Unavailable out of nowhere already. And a reply from roxx from over a month ago stating it’s a known bug, but we’ve received no communication or anything since…
Sadly @kayleigh_neko I think you’re out of luck and will be forced to stop playing the game like may others. Downside of western NY I guess.
I am sorry to hear you seem to be having issues with connecting from your areas and with a specific ISP. Please note some ISP’s may indeed route your connection through areas that may cause this error. Unfortunately, there is no way in which we can change this from our end and only your ISP would be able to provide further assistance.
AS far as some basic troubleshooting, you can try the following:
1- Please verify the integrity of game with the Steam integrity check How To run a Steam Integrity Check
2- Close other applications that may be taking up your bandwidth.
3- Switch to a wired connection.
4- Restart your router and modem.
5- Troubleshoot your firewall.
-Press Windows + R, type “firewall.cpl” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
-Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall and then click Change settings.
-Look for the game in the list of allowed apps and features. If it’s present, make sure it’s checked, and that both the Private and Public columns have a check mark. If the app is missing from the list, you need to add it.
*Click Allow another app…, locate and select the app, then click Add.
*Once you’ve done that, you need to ensure that the app is checked, and that it has check marks under both the Private and Public columns.
6- Test your connection for packet loss or buffering. To test, go here and click the big Start Test button to start the test. Once the test is complete, the results are displayed.
7- Verify you are not using VPN or proxy services. (Note the use of VPN is not permitted when connecting to our servers).
If the issue persists after this, the scenario will require our tech team to look into your logs and follow up directly with other possibly sensitive account information that is best not posted on the forums so it would be best if you could please create a web ticket by going to Contact Us | Amazon Games.
I hope this helps and if not, do not hesitate reaching out to live support.
For people having trouble, the only solution I have seen that actually works is to contact your ISP and try and set up a static IP… issue is that I believe its an added cost monthly.
Not sure why everyone on the AGS side says there “nothing they can do” when up until the end of June update, everything was working fine.
Hello @Dozi and thank you for making a good point,
Please note patches may indeed introduce blocks to previous forms of connection that could have been working previously and, when that happens, it is not a system error but an intended fix for re-directions the system does not allow. Looking at how other players can connect, is one of the major factors that shows there is no issue with the game or servers themselves but with something in the way your connection is being routed which does not pass the game’s region locks.
You may want to further check with your ISP and in your network settings for any redirects that may be happening but, from the support perspective, those are settings we cannot guide you further on.
Hope that clarifies your question and see you in Arkesia!
I see that there is a new thread talking about this same issue. Apparently Roxx took some action and reported that they pushed a fix that resolved this for a lot of players. How is it that we get a fix now, 4 months after, after being told that the problem was on our end and not AGS/the game…?
