Especially the ones on 10% hp skirting around the boss hoping for a miracle
People have problem with survival.
Grudge drastically reduces survival and Desperate salvation somewhat improves it.
I know it’s very complex and there are so many factors to consider…
Your “gocha” argument makes 0 sense.
Problem is the normal heal is shared more people in circle meand less heal for each person. DS 3 provides 24% hp to everyone in the vicinity when the heal ends its still massive.
Only as long as everyone is alive. One pepega DPS gets knocked off and it flips. 3 dps > 2 dps 1 sup
That person is just a troll in every topic.
grudge isn’t needed, content isn’t designed around 100% uptime, so you circumvent not having grudge by playing better and squeeze more damage uptime
which means if you do have grudge, it makes it possible for ppl to clear content with not playing as good, and lower damage uptime
Why are you comparing DS with Grudge as if you’re putting yourself in a huge risk where you can get 1 shotted by bosses? When you’re playing a class that uses heavy armor 3 and becomes as tanky as a Gunlancer and Destroyer?
When your team don’t need healing.
My support DPS setup. Provide Damage buff and shield. No healing.
true courage sucks btw the buff only applies to yourself
Yes, I do know that the Engraving is only for myself.
I’d still run Expert and Awakening for more Song of Courage and better shields.
True Courage can be taken at lvl1 it’s very strong lvl1 engraving. I run Expert/Awake/Grudge/TC1 on my Bard. I pull out something like 1/3 of a standards dps-class damage only from myself, and that’s for a proper dps, usually I’m equal dps wise than shit dpser. I still provide strong shields which is more than enough for sustaining dmg at my ilvl content, run identity tripods (less damage but more uptime on song of courage).
So far the only people that have made rant about me not having DS are people that are shit and eat every single hit in Argos and Yoho. Most people run just fine withtout Song of Salvation just like they run just fine without supports in Argos and Valtan. The shields and dmg reduction buffs are bonus for theim.
very true! Sometimes he accidentally says good takes trying to piss off idiots though.
Basically if you want to play a support setup that put accent on damage at the cost of no Song of Salvations (non-DS support bard basically) then I’ll suggest you to play this setup : /Grudge3 /Barricade3 /Awakening3 /Expert3 /TrueCourage1 /Adrenaline1 and set your party around back-attack and strong burst dps class. Basically your ideal party would be Igniter /Surge /Shock /You.
Be mindful tho that this build is completly off-meta. People will ashame and flame you for not using Song of Salvation, everyone including god speakers KR streamers.
NA/EU monkeys will flame you beaucause KR god speaker will flame you.
KR god speaker will flame you because they know how legion raid past Valtan are going on and they know that you definitely don’t need this additionnal damage and need much more the healing meta-build, even tho you aren’t supposed to take damage. It’s a safety net that allow you to eat more hits. Let’s say you’re doing Abrelshud the encounter is 20mn long you only have 7 potions and damage are high enough at ilvl that you basically need to get back to full health every time you get it. Without healing you only have 7 chances for 20 mn long encounter while with a support, you can slowly sustain mistaken hits and save these 7 chances for emergency.
If I ever got to play Artist, I was planning to try a DPS build that also buffs allies. Even without healing engravings, I’m sure I could pop down a heal if absolutely needed.
It’d be like having a 4th mini-DPS that buffs everyone else’s damage and has an emergency heal.
All that said, I’m sure there are problems with that idea…which is why I’d need to test a few things out.
Don’t think I’ll end up being able do it, though…
Yeah basically KR would tell you if you want to play Bard this way, just play Artist then. But Artist is nowhere close to be released in NA/EU ^^
I crie evrytiem.
didnt bother reading the post, trash comparison, grudge is situational, it is needed useally to pass most end game dps checks unless ur geared extremely well (overgeared) and are playing some high dps class it might not be a “must have” altho it is nice to have (more dps).
ds is a class engraving not a combat engraving and it allows for more healing output as a bard, why would u not want to heal more as a support class? it allows a bard to pretty much ‘fully’ heal the party with only 1 bar filled which also allows u to use other bars for dps increase.
it is simply an amazing engraving and should be the first lvl 3 u get on ur bard… thats like saying heavy armor isn’t needed Just don’t get hit bro LOOOOL, expert and ds isn’t needed cause who needs healing output anyways? party Just needs to stop getting hit LOOOOL, at that point what are u gonna run on bard? might as well swap to a dps bard build i suppose?
I do not have some sort of spreadsheet from Korea, because there is no actual damage-meter, but it is generally accepted by theorycrafters in Korea that a hybrid support is a waste.
A hybrid support does not even come remotely clear to a pure DPS, while having much less utility for the party.
I am not saying this for OP, or other posters baiting, I am writing this because some supports out there might actually believe nonsense.
An example of Bard (but goes for any support).
Lets say you have real endgame content with 2 counters like Elgacia dungeon.
Then you are down to 6 skills, lightning is not really that much damage, and buckshot none.
Now you wanna secure the damage skills like: Stigma, Soundholic, sound shock and dissonance.
6 skills are now locked
You are basically forced to bring heavenly tune if you wanna have some real utility.
down to 1 extra choice now.
Guardian tune makes the most sense because it has incredible shield and reduction values with tripods.
As anyone can guess, this build will end up with shitty damage, and lack the shielding and damage buffs of a support build. The amount of shielding you get from wind of music alone is big, but the Sonic vibration is actually massive since it can scale in the end.
The party will end up doing less damage, in return of your mediocre damage.
There is a reason why top clearing KR parties use a support, because later they buff the team massively with synergy card set, set bonus synergies, and massive mp regen and attack buffs with high uptime due to swiftness/spec.
Can you run a hybrid? Yes
Will you still get invited by people not knowing what a bard or other support should build? most likely in some groups
Is it stronger than pure support? No
